Il macaone ha quasi completato la sua ultima muta, la crisalide ha fatto scivolare la cuticola lungo il corpo fino a farla rimanere attaccata solo alla parte posteriore. È raggrinzita ma conserva ancora i colori e la forma del bruco, sono ancora visibili le striature e la testa. In questi ultimi istanti la crisalide continuerà a muoversi con dei movimenti circolari fino a quando la cuticola non si staccherà. Dopo la muta la crisalide non va toccata, il suo involucro è molto delicato e passerà circa un giorno prima che si indurisca. Per fotografare questa fase sono stato in attesa tutto il pomeriggio ad osservare il bruco e finalmente alle 19,30 ha iniziato la muta. Il sole era già tramontato e stava arrivando il buio, fotografare è stato difficile perché c'era un costante vento che muoveva a destra e a sinistra la crisalide. Quest'anno cercherò di fotografare di nuovo l'ultima muta, tra poco inizierò ad allevare i macaoni, i finocchietti selvatici crescono in fretta ma è ancora presto per trovare le uova e i bruchi, dovrò aspettare almeno una o due settimane. Per comprendere ed osservare bene dall'inizio l'ultima muta del macaone, consiglio a chi non l'avesse fatto, di andare a guardare anche le altre foto presenti in questa galleria.
