Finalmente è arrivato il periodo dell'anno che preferisco, dopo un periodo di osservazione ieri ho ricominciato le esplorazioni notturne, ma vi racconterò cosa è successo nei prossimi giorni. La foto che vi mostro oggi è stata scattata a fine maggio lo scorso anno, la siccità era arrivata ma quella notte ci fu una leggera pioggia che rinfrescò il terreno e le piante. Qualche ora dopo, stavo osservando attentamente i finocchietti in cerca di bruchi o uova di macaone e ho incontrato questo bellissimo esemplare. Era già molto grande e mancava poco alla metamorfosi, era fermo aggrappato al rametto perché aveva ancora le gocce di pioggia addosso. In questa foto potete osservare dettagliatamente il bruco con i suoi bellissimi colori, sono visibili le 3 paia di piccole zampe vicino alla testa e le 5 paia di false zampe lungo il corpo. Le false zampe sono delle ventose che permettono al bruco di arrampicarsi meglio sulle piante. Dopo averlo fotografato l'ho raccolto e posizionato in un fauna box per allevarlo e consentirgli di preparare la crisalide in un posto sicuro, tutto è avvenuto correttamente ed è nato un bellissimo esemplare femmina.
