Cortona è ricca di scorci su vicoli in discesa e salita vista la sua urbanistica dovuta alla collina che la ospita, le strette vie medievali ed ogni angolo di strada offre uno sguardo sul passato della città. Via Jannelli è l'esempio più eclatante di un piccolo quartiere medievale. Percorrendo la strada con le facciate a sbalzo ci si ritrova catapultati in una Cortona lontana nei secoli. Ad impreziosire questa piccola via, si allineano numerose case con resti di strutture trecentesche e sporti lignei cinquecenteschi alcune delle quali hanno finestre con archi a tutto sesto in mattoni. Sono strutture con paramento esterno realizzato in pietra e mattoni, gli stipiti, le soglie e gli architravi in pietra, le mensole in legno che sostengono il piano superiore sporgente.
