La Via Mala è l'antico tracciato, esistente già nel Medioevo, che collega la Valle di Scalve alla Valcamonica. L'appellativo “Mala” fu dato in passato a causa dei frequenti tratti accidentati e inquietanti che terrorizzavano i viaggiatori e che, tuttora, lasciano senza fiato per l'emozione. La Via Mala è letteralmente scolpita nelle pareti rocciose della profonda forra del fiume Dezzo e si affaccia sul corso d'acqua passando tra insenature e orridi, offrendo emozionanti e spettacolari scorci visuali e permettendo di apprezzare molto da vicino e con insolita chiarezza diverse forme geologiche. È uno dei percorsi più spettacolari d'Europa, soprattutto in inverno quando l'acqua si trasforma in ghiaccio, disegnando splendide cascate bianche sul panorama roccioso.
