Pieris brassicae at first light sent on January 07, 2023 (19:06) by MarcoCoppola. 40 comments, 738 views. [retina]

, 1/40 f/5.6, ISO 160, tripod. Specie: Pieris brassicae

Some species of Asteraceae have already bloomed, others still have summer blooms and show no sign of changing, it all started earlier.
In October, wild fennel has already grown close to the ripe ones I had collected, I hope not to find the macaoni soon, this will be a strange year ...
However, there will always be some rain from time to time, but the temperatures are always higher than usual

So maybe some animals anticipate births to avoid the dry and hot summer that will be due to us again this year, sigh! :-(

I think so, in fact in August last year the soil reached the maximum of heat and drought and I found few animals ... I
am lucky because I ride from early afternoon until the morning of the next day and at night you always observe beautiful scenes (despite the beastly daytime heat I noticed that this year the nights were much more humid).
But during the day I found very few species, even the swallowtails that I usually see by the dozens, in August I found 5... I counted them.
This year it will be difficult even for me to go loaded with stuff like a mule in that heat.

The photo is beautiful and interesting explanation, it is true that it is getting hotter and hotter. I am afraid of an early flowering and then frosts that ruin everything,,

I am a lover of animals and nature since I was born, the caption for me is very important to make known something more about these small animals sometimes forgotten or underestimated.
Thank you very much Maurizio, hello

Hello Mark, really a nice "train" of butterflies, congratulations for the photo and for your breeding, repairing caterpillars and chrysalises from parasites almost all become butterflies while in "freedom" few succeed. A warm greeting, hello Fabrizio.

Thank you very much Fabrizio for appreciating this photo of mine.
Since breeding these species their number has greatly increased, in this month more than 50 Pieris brassicae were born. All born correctly even if in advance.
