All'interno dell'Ossario di San Martino, l'urna posta al centro della Cappella porta il suo nome: quello di Alessandro Tebaldi. Nella Verona austriaca tanti veronesi presero le armi combattendo per l'Impero. Non lui. Inizialmente arruolato nell'esercito imperiale, nell'anno della “Primavera dei Popoli”, il 1848, decise di offrire i suoi servigi al Regno di Sardegna. Capitano del 5° Reggimento di Fanteria (Brigata Aosta; Divisione Fanti), perse la vita nella Battaglia di San Martino, Seconda Guerra d'Indipendenza. Anche all'esterno dell'Ossario, un'epigrafe lo ricorda: “Alessandro Tebaldi/ di Verona/ morto il 24 giugno 1859/ Su questo colle/ conteso e guadagnato/ con tanta generosità di sacrifizio/ attende riposo/ nella libera sepoltura de' suoi padri”.
