I colori li ho aggiunti successivamente. All'epoca non era come oggi, non c'erano mille telecamere, riprese, fotografie, moviole varie. Così, quel fotogramma in realtà era sfuggito a tutti.

Agree. In fact I wrote that there is a need for moral references and that rather than nothing, it is better rather ...

The shot of a work that recalls a beautiful moment in the history of sport, a teaching, a guideline that should never be missing, especially in certain sports that increasingly slide down.
The original photograph I think is known, but the details you wrote in the caption were unknown to me and therefore double thanks and compliment.

An image that evokes one of the most famous events in the history of cycling, of which two extraordinary champions were the protagonists, who entered deep into the imagination of Italians and not only in sport. How much they are still alive is demonstrated by the interest aroused by this photo.
After all, knowing how things really went, who passed what to whom, is not so important. It remains a beautiful gesture and we need to nourish ourselves with beautiful gestures, not only with truth.
Giancarlo, I also came to mind the famous photo taken by Joe Rosenthal of the Associated Press at Iwo Jima and the story narrated by Clint Eastwood in his film. Who were the six Marines? When was the photo taken? Was it "staged"?
All doubts never dispelled, but the photo remains in its own right one of the most iconic of the Second World War.
Greetings to all. Susy

Thank you very much Susy for your nice comment; yes, I agree with what you wrote: "After all, knowing how things really went, who passed on what to whom, is not so important. It remains a beautiful gesture and we need to nourish ourselves with beautiful gestures, not only with truth" : thank you very much again, hello, a warm greeting, giancarlo
