I colori li ho aggiunti successivamente. All'epoca non era come oggi, non c'erano mille telecamere, riprese, fotografie, moviole varie. Così, quel fotogramma in realtà era sfuggito a tutti.

The "sportsmanship" of the gesture has submerged part of the truth you have told us. The fact remains that times have changed a lot and that champions like those two ...... Well, there will be a reason if they survive in memory after 70 years.
Greetings.
Paul

Francesco, Stefano, Giovanni, Philip: I am happy to find you here; thank you very much to everyone for the passage and the words of appreciation that you have written, hello, a warm greeting, giancarlo

@Philip: Fausto Coppi and Gino Bartali were two great cycling champions in the 40s and 50s, very popular and beloved; both won the Giro D'Italia several times and twice each also won the Tour De France. As I documented in my note, the famous photo of this water bottle exchange has become an icon of sportsmanship.
