Il 23 maggio del 1992 il giudice Giovanni FALCONE e la moglie Francesca MORVILLO, stavano tornando a casa da Roma, per trascorrere il fine settimana, come era solito fare. Atterrati a Palermo Punta Raisi li attende la scorta composta da tre auto blindate, il Giudice decide di guidarne una, con a fianco la moglie e con il suo autista seduto nei sedili posteriori. Le tre auto blindate percorrono l'autostrada, dirette verso Palermo, alle 17:58, nei pressi dello svincolo di Capaci-Isola delle Femmine, da una posizione elevata che guarda quel tratto autostradale, fu azionato il telecomando che fece detonare una carica di cinquecento chili di tritolo, posizionata in una galleria proprio sotto la strada. La deflagrazione colse in pieno le tre auto blindate, la prima Fiat Croma venne letteralmente spazzata via e i tre agenti della scorta morirono sul colpo. Il Giudice FALCONE e la moglie moriranno soltanto dopo a causa dei traumi riportati. A distanza di trent'anni di quella che poi è stata nominata “la strage di Capaci” viene ricordato il sacrificio del Giudice Giovanni FALCONE, la moglie Francesca MORVILLO e degli agenti della Polizia di Stato di scorta Vito SCHIFANI, Rocco DICILLO e Antonio MONTINARO. Ci tenevo da palermitano a ricordare il trentennale della strage per tenere sempre vivo il ricordo di chi con il loro sacrificio ha dato un grande contributo nella lotta alla mafia.
