A wonderful story and you have to be happy for them, despite the many events they will have passed they have certainly lived a serene life that nowadays no longer seems so obvious.
I give you many compliments and a big hug

Perfect clothes to emphasize the nothing built in this image and to make even more true that hand on the shoulder, authentic union of those who have had the pleasure of sharing the beautiful moments and have been able to join forces to overcome the many difficulties that life offers.
The two figures on the side I find consistent with the image you want to give in the memory; in the end the purpose of a whole life finds its essence in the family which, I understand, was the absolute goal pursued by these two people.
Very well so, with a personal applause for how you tell us sensations and moods that deeply excite. What beautiful people!
The only note to the cyclamen too intrusive, in my opinion to desaturate a lot.
A cordial greeting.
Paul

In my opinion the photo is very beautiful, but not suitable for a tombstone. It is true for a tombstone should be placed photos with better clothes but it is not said that one possesses them so extreme evils remedies. As emmegiu pointed out, I too would not have put the photos of the two children, precisely because they were destined for a tombstone. The photo without the final purpose for which it was reproduced I repeat is beautiful

Hello Giancarlo, personally I would not cut the heads of the children and I would standardize the color of the flowers to the rest of the photo. I like clothes, it seems to me that they give greater strength to the concept of everyday life together.
In any case, make the choices you like ;-)

Very beautiful and intense image, reading your story full of love moved me, I associate myself with what Emmegiu said, and I too would desaturire the cyclamen. The clothes are their usual and daily and they are fine. I also agree with the fact that the photo is yours and must be a personal intimate memory of you, so you have to decide for yourself how you want to see your parents' tombstone every time you see it. A hug and a good weekend

Excuse me, I forgot: I do not know the format in which they will be inserted, but I believe that they will have in any case a frame and therefore consider that the heads of the children will perhaps be further cut once inserted.
Good evening

A personal opinion yours that shows your sensitivity and for what is my feeling I tell you this.
If you like it that way, keep it as you show us.
The Presence of you and your sister does not hurt because the faces even if a little cut are recognized.
The flowers in red, are not as you see from many comments considered in line with the theme, to me they do not bother, indeed I find them tasteful and strengthen such a strong and lasting bond between your parents.
Something that not if you have tried, the b/w image with light tones and red flowers how does it come out?
A warm greeting Alessandro
