Anonymous, statua dell'anonimo, fu un notaio e cronista del Re ungherese, probabilmente Béla III (1148-1196) - “P dictus magister ac quondam bone memorie gloriosissimi Bele regis Hungarie notarius”. Da questa frase alcuni studiosi supposero che l'iniziale del suo nome iniziasse per P e che questi si adoperò nel regno per diffondere la cultura. Nulla si sa dello scrivano anonimo e difficoltoso è stato il lavoro di coloro che nel tempo hanno cercato la sua identità. La statua è stata eretta nel 1903 dall'artista Miklós LIGETI, a rendere fascino alla figura dell'Anonimo è la particolarità del capo chino e coperto, in posa contemplativa con la matita nella mano destra e con un codice aperto nella sinistra. Con il passare del tempo, tra leggende e dicerie, l'Anonymous di Budapest è diventato il mito degli aspiranti scrittori e coloro che ambiscono a tale desiderio toccano la matita in mano all'anonimo per coronare il loro sogno.
