Case cubiche di Rotterdam sono in pratica un complesso abitativo formato da 39 appartamenti fatti a forma di cubo disposti attorno ad un cortile centrale. Sono inclinati di 45 gradi e attaccati l'uno contro l'altro toccandosi agli angoli. Ogni casa si regge su piloni esagonali, infatti sono state paragonate anche alle palafitte ma l'idea originaria dell'architetto era quella di creare una foresta stilizzata! Tant'è vero che il complesso si chiama Blaakse Bos ovvero Bosco di Blaak (che sarebbe il quartiere in cui si trovano).
