L'omicidio di John Lennon venne commesso la sera di lunedì 8 dicembre 1980 quando il celebre musicista britannico venne colpito da 4 proiettili sparatigli alle spalle da Mark David Chapman, un fan squilibrato, con una pistola calibro 38 nell'ingresso del Dakota Building, sua residenza a New York City. Lennon era appena tornato da una seduta di registrazione al Record Plant Studio insieme alla moglie Yoko Ono. Correva l'anno 2017 fine agosto, durante la mia vacanza a Cuba ero nel paese di Trinidad, durante una passeggiata mi sono imbattuto in un locale dove all'ingresso c'erano le statue memoriale dei Beatles, l'antica Casa de la Rumba a Trinidad, dove l'arredamento è dedicato esclusivamente ai Beatles; le statue a grandezza naturale raffiguranti Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon e George Harrison con sullo sfondo il testo della canzone di "Yesterday".
