Vista del porto con la Torre Normanna, voluta da Federico II e costruita nel 1233, e la Chiesa S.S. Annunziata con la torre campanara: Borgo visitato negli anni cinquanta dallo scrittore Ernest Hemingway, premio Nobel per la Letteratura nel 1954. Leggenda locale narra che qui lo scrittore fece la conoscenza di zio Antonio Masarone – detto “u vecchio” – un pescatore con il volto e le mani segnate dal lavoro, figura che ispirò la storia del suo romanzo “Il vecchio e il Mare”.
