È uno dei leoni più belli che abbia mai visto. Un esemplare giovane, integro, senza i segni che le tante battaglie avrebbero inciso sul suo corpo. Meravigliosamente biondo. Sonnecchiava nell'erba alta finché non ci ha sentiti arrivare. Allora ha sollevato la testa e poi si è messo a sedere, mentre un leggero vento gli scompigliava la criniera.
