Per chi magari non conoscesse questa specie, vorrei ricordare quanto sia difficile il suo avvistamento (in natura)...si possono trascorrere giorni e giorni di Safari senza vederne nemmeno uno...si possono fare Safari su Safari senza riuscire a 'catturare' una buona foto di questa specie.
Un'animale SIMBOLO della spietatezza umana, una specie in forte rischio di estinzione a causa della sua natura in forte contrasto con lo status dell'uomo. Il Licaone ha bisogno di territori molto ampi, si sposta di anche 20-30 km al giorno...e purtroppo in tanti stati africani questo non è più possibile per loro.
Sono ancora avvistatili in Botswana nei parchi del nord, in Zimbabwe (non ci sono mai stato) dove sembrano abbastanza ancora facili da vedere, in Kenya nella regione del Samburu (rarissimi da catturare) e in Tanzania...dove anche qui sono davvero difficili da vedere. Insomma una specie che risulta essere gravemente 'colpita' dalla diminuzione del proprio habitat naturale.
Queste mie immagini vorrebbero sensibilizzare questo, perché di Licaoni, tra qualche hanno (speriamo di no) rimaranno solo delle povere immagini................
