Dear Paolo,
congratulations for the beautiful message that this image of you, together with the shareable caption, conveys to the world... Whole.
Although, unfortunately, the whole world tends to... care about it.
And that's why
... Nothing's ever going to change...
A very affectionate greeting,
Paul

My grandfather, 99, came back. From faraway Calabria to Carso.

When the few existing photographs had great value
Right tribute !
Extremely wrong instead to have removed the holiday of November 4 that reminded them "officially"

Dear Paul, the general sense of photography is precisely this, remembering, in this case the sacrifice of other generations, do not let time erase courage, sacrifice and above all their example. Congratulations.
A greeting card.
Eraldo. :-P

Great shot, she was definitely a great photographer of the time. Great dedication that honors the person you are!
Great were also the concept of nation and love for one's homeland.
What's left of all this? The love for one's nation, for one's homeland, already has many's noses twisted.
Without heroes like your grandfather, what are we now?
By posting this photo I do not seek consensus of rhetorical goodness
and do well dear!
Among those little heroes, there was also my grandfather who withdrew from the war with one hand out after a hand grenade exploded.
Only little heroes who don't seem to care about anyone anymore. The borders for which thousands of people have died across Europe seem to no longer make sense...
I'm going to finish here, but I could go on :-/

So many considerations, dear Rinaldo. What you say were concepts that I was taught as basic to the right to live, now it seems to me that the parameters have changed a little. I have noticed that many retain a deep memory of their ancestors.
I thank you, heartily, for your participation.
A warm greeting.

A photo that has a story and a story that moves with how much injustice and futility there are in fighting and dying at 20 for a meter of land and for a useless cause.
Your memory of His grandfather and his stories makes sure that the memory is not lost. Unfortunately, the hope that things will change I fear that it will remain utopia.
Hello.

Hello Marco, you say well, a mountain of useless sacrifices, but at least the memory remains.
A warm greeting.
Paul
