27-2-2019, Sicilia, Porto Empedocle. Un vero spettacolo ! L'abbiamo vista anche al tramonto, sul lato ovest, ammantata di riflessi rosati, però francamente così candida, e con il cielo blu, rende molto meglio. L'ho fotografata anche senza mio marito sullo sfondo, ma in questo caso la presenza umana rende la proporzione della maestosità del sito. Merita un viaggio, assolutamente ! ...e poi in Sicilia si sta sempre benissimo !!!! ------- (Internet :La Scala dei Turchi è una parete rocciosa (falesia) che si erge a picco sul mare lungo la costa di Realmonte, in provincia di Agrigento.La Scala è costituita di marna, una roccia sedimentaria di natura calcarea e argillosa, con un caratteristico colore bianco puro. La Scala dei Turchi presenta una forma ondulata e irregolare, con linee non aspre bensì dolci e rotondeggianti. Il nome le viene dalle passate incursioni di pirateria da parte dei saraceni, genti arabe e, per convenzione, turche; i pirati turchi, infatti, trovavano riparo in questa zona meno battuta dai venti e rappresentante un più sicuro approdo.)
