Dopo l'altare, ci tenevo a mostrarvi anche il soffitto... Tutta la copertura della chiesa ha subito diversi rifacimenti, specie dopo un disastroso incendio nel 1811, ma il disegno originario è stato alquanto rispettato. I soffitti sono in legno policromo con una varietà di tipologia della copertura classica dell'architettura medievale, diversificata con l'intento di mettere in risalto le parti più nobili dell'edificio. Il tetto della navata centrale è a forma di carena di nave, costituito da enormi tronchi scolpiti con fregi d'oro. Poi la copertura passa dal tipo a capriata, a volta, a cupola a seconda della sezione da nobilitare. La parte centrale del transetto è la più sontuosa con piccoli motivi a stalattite dorata, finemente elaborata, tipica della tradizione islamica.
