Il Mont Saint-Michel (in normanno Mont Saint Miché, in bretone Menez Mikael ar Mor) è un isolotto situato in Normandia a pochissimi chilometri dal confine con la Bretagna, dove sfocia il fiume Couesnon. L'abbazia benedettina ha origine nel secolo X° ed attualmente è meta di pellegrinaggi e di turismo (circa 3.200.000 visitatori all'anno). Le pecore che si vedono nella foto vengono chiamate “mouton de pré-salé” perché, pascolando sui prati salati per l'afflusso delle maree, hanno una carne che assume un particolare sapore e, insieme alle gigantesche “omelettes de la mère Poulard” ( uova, panna fresca e Calvados), costituiscono uno dei piatti tipici della zona. La visita al Mont Saint Michel è avvenuta il 29 Settembre 2018, festa di San Michele, in compagnia di Marco (Mar40) e Duilio (Superventura) al termine di un viaggio che ci ha visti percorrere una buona parte della Bretagna. Ne approfitto per ringraziarli dei bellissimi dieci giorni trascorsi insieme in piena sintonia ed allegria. Ringrazio anche, per i loro suggerimenti e consigli, Sg67 e Paolo P che ben conoscono la regione.
