________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Mount Ilice is a hill on the south east side of volcano Etna. Giovanni Verga, a realist writer born in Catania, set an epistolary novel “Story of a sparrow” there. These are the words used by Maria, the main character, to describe the place: “If you were here you could see these mountains in the moonlight or while the sun is rising. You could see the shadow of the woods, the blue sky, the verdant vineyards along the valleys surrounding the small cottages, the immense sea shining from a distance and all the villages along the slopes of the massive mountains appearing to be small near Mount Etna.! ...Everything here is magnificent, the air, the light, the sky, the trees, the mountains, the valleys, the sea...” #tree #sky #grass

... eh, yes! Thinking about the roots of my family... I have seen that in many you have awakened the same feelings of belonging to your own land! In fact, even my family originated in Sicily and although there have been few, very few times, I feel the strong call! Thank you for this beautiful gift...
Beautiful shot, Optimamanete presented! :-)
