La Chiesa è chiamata delle Santissime Anime del Purgatorio, perchè qui è confuso l'atto religioso con quello politico, dentro questa Chiesa c'è il grande quadro dei Santi e delle Anime Purganti del palermitano Francesco Manno e diverse sculture in cui sono raffigurati teschi con le insegne di re, papi, cardinali e vescovi, che simboleggiano la caducità delle ricchezze e dei poteri umani...e data la vita che avevano condotto non potevano che mandarli in Purgatorio ad espiare prima di raggiungere il Paradiso.
