Finalborgo, uno dei “borghi più Belli d'Italia”, è un gioiello a pochi passi dal mare che incanta con la sua atmosfera d'altri tempi. Il nome deriva da Burgum Finarii, terra di confine (ad fines) ai tempi dei Romani e centro amministrativo del marchesato dei Del Carretto tra il XIV e il XVI sec. Chiuso tra mura medievali ancora ben conservate, intervallate da torri semicircolari e interrotte solo in corrispondenza delle porte, il Borgo di Finale (così detto per distinguerlo dalla Marina) offre subito al visitatore una sensazione di protezione e raccoglimento. L?antica concezione difensiva e comunitaria sopravvive nel reticolato delle vie, disposte perpendicolarmente tra loro a formare scorci affascinanti in spazi contenuti. Percorsi gli stretti vicoli, ogni piazza è una conquista e una sorpresa, in grado di esibire meraviglie nella "pietra del Finale", l?ardesia che adorna portoni, si modella in colonne, diamanti, ornamenti.
