Piazza Gae Aulenti, «firmata» da uno dei grandi nomi dell'architettura e del design italiano: Cesar Pelli in collaborazione con gli studi Land Milano e Aecom, specializzati in paesaggistica, dopo il grattacielo milanese Bosco Verticale, vince un premio prestigioso. Ha ricevuto il Landscape institute award 2016 all'interno della categoria Design for a medium-scale development, un riconoscimento a livello internazionale per i professionisti e i progetti del paesaggio. La piazza è dedicato a Gae Aulenti, da poco scomparsa. «Sono molto soddisfatto», ha detto dopo la decisione di Giunta il sindaco Giuliano Pisapia, che ha ricordato la Aulenti per lo «stile inconfondibilmente milanese» e il «suo essere sempre essenziale, il suo spirito altruista, la laboriosità instancabile e il suo talento». La Piazza Gae Aulenti è arricchita da tre fontane circolari, circondate da una panchina-scultura di 105 metri in pietra e porticati. Lastricata di ardesia, la superficie della piazza è di 2.300 metri quadrati, per 80 metri di diametro Qualche nota per ricordare la signora Aulenti: Nata nel 1927 in provincia di Udine, Gae Aulenti si laureò in architettura al Politecnico di Milano nel 1953. Fu docente universitaria a Venezia e al Politecnico di Milano e Presidente dell'Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera nel 1995-1996. Oltre a grandi realizzazioni all'estero, anche Milano porta i segni della sua matita, come testimoniano il nuovo volto di piazzale Cadorna e dello Spazio Oberdan. Nel 1989 il Comune di Milano le conferì la Medaglia d'Oro di Civica Benemerenza quale «protagonista assoluta nel mondo dell'architettura e del design». La foto non è senz'altro da encomio, e mi aspetto critiche durissime, ma ho scattato e la posto perché, come già detto altre volte, qualche volta è bello abbandonarsi all'emozione, con buona pace della pura tecnica, spesso arida. Forse, amo le foto che mi parlano, più che quelle fredde e patinate che alla fine, non mi dicono nulla. Mi scuso con tutti, carissimi amici e grazie per il tempo che mi dedicate, sempre.
