Elephants, I have seen thousands in the wild and they are wonderful but for me they are a difficult subject to make an interesting/exciting photograph.
This shot is iconic! From the perspective, the sunset point, the light, color hue and the pose of the subject, there is nothing more to want for!!!
Also you see the older Canon 5DIII and the good value 100-400mm II, nice equipment for sure but something many amateur photographers can afford. This capture shows that in the end, the best shots really are photographer driven, not the price of the equipment!
