at 400mm, 1/800 f/10.0, ISO 400, hand held. Corfe Castle, United Kingdom.

Blown up during the English Civil War...shot from Branscombe Hill, taken nearly 2km distance, so some heat haze reduced clarity, sharpness and contrast, which I have tried to overcome in processing. At 400mm (eqv to 600mm FX) #castles

Wow. What an amazing structure. The sprinkling of people sure help to put it in perspective. Glad you shot it from a distance.
Best regards.

Dear Tim, a spectacular place for nice composition and light.
It's a pity corner on the left side is a little soft.
Nice job as usual :-)
Bye!
Nicholas

Yes, Nicholas, I'm not sure why that is/was - I actually did sharpen that corner up quite a lot, too. (As well rest of image, due to flat and very hazy original image) Whether it's a lens decentering fault, but which does not always manifest itself, I do not know - I do know that the lens is due to be replaced as soon as I can afford to! Older Sigma lenses are not known for their perfect quality control and consistency.

Thanks anyway for the Like as some effort was taken getting the shot and not one I can retake for many years to come!

Sure Tim, it was not your fault but the lens that has probably some not aligned hinner element.
It was just an annotation, but the value of the photo remains unchanged, especially considering the uniqueness of the moment :-)
See you soon.

I would add that the very foreground in that corner is soft as it is out of focus, such is the limited depth of field at 400mm, even at f10.

Thank you once again, Massimo - have a great day!
