Siamo rientrati dal nostro viaggio in Islanda e qui inizia il mio racconto di questa bellissima avventura. Un viaggio itinerante di 14 intensi giorni (dal 4 al 17 luglio) lungo la ring road, ma non solo. Percorreremo circa 4000 km. (la ring road è di 1300) il giro in senso antiorario andando anche nei fiordi orientali, nella penisola di Reykianes, in quella di Snaefellsnesn e nei lontani e sperduti fiordi occidentali. Vedremo cascate, ghiacciai, iceberg, fumarole, geyser, vulcani, mare e montagne, spiagge nere e rosa, scogliere e fari, balene, pulcinella di mare e tanta avifauna. Un viaggio in un Paese dove le strade sterrate fanno parte della normalità, dove sui ponti si passa a senso alternato, dove dormire e mangiare costa carissimo, ma dove non si pagano autostrade, parcheggi e attrazioni. Un Paese dove si viaggia con assoluta tranquillità e dove in estate c'è sempre luce. Un Paese dove i ragazzi durante le vacanze estive lavorano come cassieri e commessi nei supermercati oppure a fare i giardinieri lungo le strade. Un Paese dove scuole, uffici postali e addirittura ospedali alle volte vengono riutilizzati come ostelli. Un Paese dove vivono 330000 persone su una superficie di un terzo dell'Italia dove però vivono 60 mil. di persone. Insomma un viaggio davvero incredibile e la mia galleria non può che iniziare da una foto della ring road.
