, 1/1000 f/7.1, ISO 1250, hand held. Specie: Caprimulgus europaeus

Thanks 1000 to Everyone !!
Vincenzo is a bird who trusts mimicry so if you are lucky enough to see him and approve it carefully you can approach a lot. In the night it would be impossible to see him.
Use a torch to find out the eye shadow of all the animals. The technique is used in africa. They love to park on the bumpy white roads. You approach the car and stop it at 15/20 mt otherwise it flies. Start a particular approach .... a little complicated ... I 2 out of 5 I almost come to touch him. The other times I go ....

Congratulations on the beautiful photo, the ability to approach and to know this subject for nothing easy to see.

Big Image Stephen, I only saw it once on the road, because the lights of the car glittered his eyes, I think they look like flying in a swim.
A salutone.

Thank you again to everyone !!
I think it looks like flying in a swim.
A salutone.

Carmelo, we in Tuscany is not common but not rare in the proper surroundings. The area where, in my opinion, the most abundant in Tuscany is the valdorcia / crete senesi.
We also have a popular name "nottola" sign that has always been quite present.
X The flight does not look like a swallow. It has a very acrobatic and extremely irregular flight.
A greeting
