Great shot, just compliments. A game of beautiful shadows and lights, and those clouds hanging on the structure. Really nice. Hi Mauro soon

Perfect, Alfredo!
You show us, that the shadows are even more important to complete a picture and lines.

Thanks, thank you Vittorio.

Dear Chris, it's true what you say. Each element that composes an image can convey its characteristic. Thanks for your interesting comment.

Do you mean to be bigger than the Colosseum? If it were not, it is an immensely beautiful construction, especially in relation to the years he has. The light, the long shadows and the sky you have placed at its frame make it a truly legendary beauty.
A greeting, GA

@ GA: The Coliseum is much bigger, with some 75,000 spectators in it. But the greatness is not the only difference: Pompeii's is of first generation, that is, it does not have the basement like second-rate amphitheatres. The Coliseum's arena was resting on a sandy, sandy, wood-planked bench (to make the blood flowing out of the rain). Thanks to horseshoes and winchs, spectacular scenic effects were obtained, such as suddenly appearing fierce beasts pulled up from the basement. By removing the wooden planks and flooding in the basement there were naval battles with boats that imitated miniature warships. All this in Pompeii was not possible but the performances were no less bloody.

around the amphitheater there was a market and the sellers, with the permission of the competent magistrates used the arches of the external structure as shops.
So there was the discipline that is now missing :-).
Nice effect with the cloud. This in hdr would be fabulous. You would have retrieved overexposure to dx ;-)

: - | I now notice, re-reading, that I have read great in the place of the ancient. Here's why my question. Patience Alfredo, every now and then I have some craving of attention.
Instead of reading what you wrote to Rinaldo .. but closing a stage for two years after a violent fight is exactly what does not happen in our times, so the measures against the disorder were so far ahead of the current ones! :-P
Said this I wish you a wonderful day, hello! GA

You are right. Today is all the more contained: the shows are not as violent as then, the riddles often stop at the jaws and the penalties as we might call them ... mollys?
