La Cappella dei Mercanti è il frutto del lavoro di frescanti, pittori, minusieri, doratori, scultori: al poco significativo aspetto architettonico si contrappone una straordinaria ricchezza decorativa che include grandi e bellissime tele, ricche cornici, statue, affreschi, oltre all'altare pregiato in marmi policromi, allìorgano e ai banchi lignei. Grazie ai libri dell'archivio della Congregazione è stato ricostruito il percorso della sua creazione, a partire dalla sua fondazione per volere di Padre Agostino Provana. Le pareti della sala principale vedono numerosi dipinti secenteschi, tutti ispirati al tema dei Magi, alternati a statue in legno dipinto di papi di diverse epoche. Anche la bella volta affrescata presenta lo stile barocco, mentre l'organo alla parete opposta all'altare è risalente al Settecento.
