La “Gaietta”, già citata nell'atto di fondazione del borgo (apud pontem Millesimi ), è uno dei pochi esempi esistenti in Italia di ponte fortificato. Il corpo originario risale al XII secolo, la torretta di guardia, merlata, costruita parte in mattoni e parte in pietra grezza risale invece al XIV secolo. Il ponte serviva come porta sorvegliata per l'accesso al borgo. Poco distante dal ponte si trova la casa presso la quale il marchese Enrico II del Carretto firmò l'atto di fondazione ( 9 Novembre 1206 ). Il ponte, dopo le innondazioni che ne distrussero una parte, rimase a transito pedonale tramite una passerella sospesa a cavi d'acciaio. "dal sito ufficiale del Comune di Millesimo"
