Ambiente alquanto scuro rispetto alla mia precedente visita questo scatto è stato fatto dalla parte opposta rispetto alla foto postata nella galleria precedente e l'opera contemporanea esposta è cambiata. Il percorso di visita al secondo piano può partire, tra pitture e stucchi antichi e opere contemporanee, dalla Sala di Amedeo VIII, che ospita la decorazione ad affresco più antica di tutto l' edificio, realizzata tra il 1623 e il 1628 dai pittori luganesi Isidoro, Francesco e Pompeo Bianchi e ispirata agli avvenimenti della vita di Amedeo VIII. Veniamo all'opera esposta di Rebecca Horn: siccome di arte contemporanea sono ignorante mi limito a riportare la presentazione dal sito del museo: Cutting Through the Past (Tagliando attraverso il passato), 1992-1993, cinque porte che recano i segni del tempo sono installate su una pedana. La loro natura dimessa suggerisce un ambiente domestico, all'interno del quale si svolgono storie private. Un'appuntita asta metallica è posata orizzontalmente al centro della pedana. Azionata da un motore elettrico, l'asta compie una rotazione di 360°, arrivando a toccare ciascuna delle porte e scavandone l'estremità con un gesto lieve, ma crudele. Ricco di implicazioni erotiche, il movimento evoca anche una situazione conflittuale, all'interno della quale la relazione tra le parti in gioco implica una progressiva distruzione delle stesse.
