Very nice. Beyond all technical virtue, is it an abandoned place? Will they recover it?

It is a former farmhouse, now uninhabited and that I doubt much can ever be recovered, because it is located DENTRO the gondola of the Panaro, and when it is necessary the gothing is flooded, sometimes cutting the embankments with an excavator to avoid flooding.

What a mess. Thanks for making me happy :-D :-D
The idea behind me is to worry about the story rather than the click.

It is hard to keep the houses that have been built in the rivers of the rivers: every flood is flooded ... full after full they become more and more damaging and eventually collapse. It's their destiny. It does not build in a golena, it's like building it inside a river ... sooner or later the water takes them away. He thinks that even in the "Bonello", between Ficarolo and Ferrara, on the north side of the Po, enormous, regularly cultivated spruce, there are houses, I see them from the bargain when riding a bike, I do not know if they are currently inhabited / used, but there are. Only the golena is made to be flooded when it is necessary to make room for the river.

A great b / n: simple, balanced, from the rich tonal range, great pdr: I like it!

Thanks Wolfschanz ... but BN's merit is Topaz Labs, not mine. I just chose the "base" effect and maybe (but I can not remember, now it's been three years) made some customization to get the BN I liked.

Someone spoke of great atmosphere, I would say suggestion, nostalgia, poetry!
The strange thing, if ever is, how can live together excellent photographic technique and perception of the poetic instant.
Soe along, but if you want to read the photos of this photographer you see realized.

Wow Waltzfox, I owe you a pizza!
The technique is learned over the years by force of errors: I have been photographing for 20 years, can you imagine how many mistakes I have made in 20 years!?
The "perception of the instant" is cultivated coming from drawing and illustration: we have become accustomed, with digital, to take as obsess and then choose the best photo (or at least worse, by choice), while those who have designed for decades had to learn to "think", because made a drawing, changing it can be impossible, so you have to do it right from the first time.
From this comes the extreme attention I put into the composition: you stay within the habit of "building" the image as you would like it, because you are used to not being able to make mistakes, or to make mistakes and throw everything away.

Thank you for your opinion, I'm just sorry that this explanation of you comes only to me or some other one that lingers on this photo.
I think your experience and knowledge that then lead to formulating concepts like this should be teaching for those who only know about digital in photography.
... made a drawing, changing it can be impossible!
Cone estimated.
