La certosa di Farneta
Una delle due certose maschili funzionanti in Italia. Una delle 16 ancora attive nel mondo.
La regola certosina fu creata da Bruno che nacque a Colonia in Germania 1030.
Bruno con altri 6 compagni, nel 1084 si spinse verso le Prealpi francesi, in un luogo denominato Chartreuse, luogo isolato adatto all'ascesi e alla contemplazione, qui edificarono il primo monastero del nuovo ordine, detto certosino.
Da lì iniziò la diffusione dell'ordine con l'edificazione di nuove, numerose certose. Bruno morì presso la certosa di Serra s. Bruno (ora provincia di Vibo Valenza) nel 1101. Fu santificato solo nel 1893 da Leone XIII.
Il nome Certosa è abbreviato anche col trigramma CAR, che possiamo vedere anche sulla rostra del portone di accesso alla certosa.
Mentre il logo di 7 stelle in semicirconferenza, (sei più quella centrale: Bruno) ricorda i primi 7 monaci, ma non è presente sulla facciata qua a Farneta
La regola certosina non consente di accedere alla clausura, Lucca curiosa riprende a distanza e suggerisce la visita alla vicina Certosa di Calci (PI) per meglio immaginare e capire come può essere la nostra Certosa ancora in funzione.
