Siamo persuasi dall'idea che per rendere migliore e bello quello che facciamo, sia più utile ed efficace
riempirlo di dettagli e particolari forzati. Non ci rendiamo conto che ciò che è meglio è non
perdere di vista l'idea originale
La ricerca del dettaglio, della cura e dell'arricchimento di particolari forzati che servono a riempire la
paura del vuoto appesantiscono e fanno perdere l'essenza dell'idea originale. Siamo così spaventati
dal foglio bianco, che pur di riempirlo, preferiamo che sia pieno di scarabocchi. E nel caos di segni
e dettagli, si perde appunto la bellezza della semplicità. Come diceva Italo Calvino, in un estratto
di Lezione Americane, ci facciamo prendere dalla "vertigine, quella del dettaglio del dettaglio del
dettaglio" perdendo di vista il quadro d'insieme, l'essenza e quindi il messaggio reale, che potrebbe
risultare più comprensibile fermandosi qualche passo prima.
