Hello, I am new here, I would like to know is there anyone who could suggest a macro lens for the Nikon D5200? I have been using adapters for getting the job done but the pics are not so crisp. Currently, my plan is to use indoors for products, however, bugs may come under investigation as well.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Generally, crispiness is coming out as a result of correct setup of lights. It is coming with practice.
Sure thing, kit lens will not overcome Carl Zeiss in quality, but as long as You do not know for sure, what exactly type of macro You're up to, any lens, that is meant for specific jobs, will be too expensive to just mess around until You find Your path. I don't know, where You from, but i am pretty sure You'd have a lens rentals avail. Check the macro range and then at least You'll know what to buy first.

Hi for your indoor shots have a look at Tamron 90f2.8 this lens is great and for what you get very well priced for insects you need a longer working distance some ware between 150-200 Nikon AF Nikkor ED 80-200mm f/2.8 D Lens will do the job nice and a second hand one cheap i use a Sigma 180 and have one for sale as i gone to canon send a pm if you are interesred

Tamron 90mm 2.8 macro, Sigma 105mm 2.8 OS Macro, Nikon 105mm 2.8 VR. Dont bother with the ~50mm macros, they dont have enough working distance. 180mm / 200mm macros are pretty expensive. Most macros have very high image quality.

I use a 45mm TS-E, 70mm 2.8 and 180mm 2.8 OS for my macro work. I have a gallery of my marco work here: gormteper.net/photography/macro/

Also have a review of the Sigma 180mm 2.8 Macro lens on my blog. All the product shots of my lens reviews are all taken with my 70mm 2.8 Macro lens from Sigma. gormteper.net/reviews/sigma-180mm-f2-8-os-macro/

Hope this helps! Happy shooting!
