Pros: Almost no distortion

Cons: Lens cap that comes off too easily and can scratch the front lens when you put the machine in the holster and the cap is inside

Opinion: I recently bought this jewel, used but like new and said goodbye to the equivalent samyang (other planet). First modification made: add-on to the lens cap to prevent it from being removed unintentionally and damaging the front lens with its edge; Now the outer part of the cap is made of rubber. Anyone interested in the change can contact me privately. For the rest, what to say? Bright optics that at TA have a minimum of vignetting already absent at +1 stop. Unperceptible distortion and focus (despite the short scale) of a unique ease and pleasure. I still haven't dealt with how the flare holds up (so I don't express myself for the effectiveness of the lens hood, but if necessary I will make an add-on for that too). My feeling is that with such openness and without distortion you can photograph without fears to avoid unpleasant distortions. Another note that was not obvious to me before purchase: 95 mm filters can be mounted without problems

Pros: Solid, ultra soft fire ring, sharp, zero distortion at the edges.

Cons: the hood to be removed and use the filters must be sent to Zeiss with an unjustifiable cost. Metal cap comes off and the risk of losing it is high

Opinion: I have been using this lens for 5 years on the D810 getting stunning results photos of crazy landscapes with depth of field never seen before, faithful colors and stunning sharpness at all apertures. No distortion at the edges no fisheye, in my opinion perhaps even better than the little brother Milvus if it were not that the latter is tropicalized.

Pros: optical and construction quality

Cons: Footprint

Opinion: I've had this lens for several years and I've got to test it well. as for absolutely excellent sharpness and distortion, it is a technically perfect optics..... maybe too much. manual focus is not a problem and is very precise, it can mount screw filters which for a 15mm is no small thing. on the other hand, (if we really want to find any), it is the size... in a standard bag where 3 or 4 targetss enter you struggle to put it. for here lovers of distortions, who use the wide angle very close to the subject to accentuate the artistic side of distortion I do not recommend it because it is a very correct optics on that point of view. as for star photos at night, to be picky,(and by fussy I mean crop 100% at the edge) the stars are not perfect point shapes but have a bit of a "tail".

Pros: Beyond all the best expectations. Fly where no one else can!

Cons: Given the extraordinary photographic performance and the excellent quality of the materials invites you to throw in the basket any other lens

Opinion: Little or nothing to say! It excels in sharpness to any diaphragm, optical quality out of the ordinary, distortion absolutely absent and an unattainable chromatic rendering for the other objectives. It is to take with it all the life Only neo is that it outperforms so much the other goals that you want to equip exclusively Zeiss optics! .

Pros: Comes where others cannot

Cons: Cost and weight

Opinion: Taken used, since the differences with the new milvus are nonexistent from the optical and non-significant point of view regarding the use of filters; Differently from other pushed wide angles, with the ball lenses, it can accommodate filters of 95 mm and therefore also circular filters ND; It is difficult to use GND filters effectively. For contrast sharpness impression, excellent chromatic rendition, low distortion and excellent resistance to flare: all qualities that emerge in the night with clarity.
