Pros: Professional Optics-great detail and three-dimensionality-construction-quality' very good price.

Cons: What to say no contraindication

Opinion: Viltrox 85mm on Nikon Z6 2 a nice pair well balanced, lightning autofocus, even in the dark very responsive, I highly recommend it for its quality 'optical and construction, the price very affordable for an 85mm, I used the viltrox also on Sony with amazing results, packaging really well done seems to buy a Zeiss, vote 10/10.

Pros: excellent result, solid construction, Superior to Canon f4 lenses

Cons: Smooth and slippery finish that requires greater attention when mounting on the body. The AF/MF button is missing

Opinion: I am an amateur photographer little more than amateur. I bought last week the Viltrox in very good condition used, for my new Sony A 7C. I have a Canon system (not R) with the 24-105 f4 and 70-200 f4. I also have the Sigma MC11 to use Canon lenses on Sony body. I did the first tests shooting at focal length 85 first with Canon lenses and Canon body, then Canon lenses and Sony body, then the Viltrox. I did not pay particular attention to vignetting and aberrations as they were not obvious, but mainly to resolution and sharpness, in addition to the character of the photograph. I must say that the Viltrox thrilled me, overall better results at times in a noticeable way, certainly compared to 24-105. Negative for me the finish of the body, too smooth and slippery, at the first attempt to mount on the body at times slips me. I read previous comments about the difficulty of inserting the hood. It is true that sometimes it does not fix on the first attempt, but it is not so difficult. My rating is at least a 9.6 and I highly recommend it, also considering the cost.

Pros: Good performance at F 1.8 with Canon Eos R, the center of the image and bokeh are great. A little bit of vignetting at the edges but nothing irreparable then in p.p. Lightness.

Cons: Hood not much but price half of the Canon 85 mm f 2.0. It is not stabilized.

Opinion: My opinion aligns with the previous ones. Unfortunately with the RF mount there is not much, one of the few portrait lenses with an excellent blur at 1.8 can be this Viltrox otherwise you can spend much more with the Canon F 2.0 that costs twice or with the older brothers RF 85 F1.2 whose price is multiplied by 10. Colors not at Canon level but can be improved in post production. You can see in the gallery "Photos in no particular order" of portraits taken with Canon Eos R and Viltrox 85 mm f 1.8.

Pros: Sharpness, construction, price

Cons: Lens hood

Opinion: My impressions are in line with those that preceded me in the review. Recently purchased, at the first use I was satisfied with this lens, which already behaves very well at full aperture. Unbeatable price quality in my opinion (since for Fuji the alternatives are not many). The only sore point is the hood that, in addition to being made of plastic unlike the younger brothers Viltrox, is really difficult to mount both in mode of use and at rest, it is really difficult to insert it at first glance without running the risk of ruining the thread. Too bad. All in all, however, apart from the hood, it is a lens that deserves. Advised

Pros: I confirm all the positive things that others have already said.

Cons: Light vignetting easily eliminated. Hood: in an inverted position it is not possible to block, while in operation it does not create problems.

Opinion: Combined with Z6 and taken from Foto Colombo at a very advantageous price with an official 2-year warranty. Feeling of solidity and well finished; to be confirmed over time. Compared with Nikon 85mm f/1.8G, even at T.A., I did not perceive any differences visible to the eye, except for the aforementioned modest vignetting. It costs about 1/3 of the original Z series, but it is to be purchased first of all for the excellent overall performance. Obviously the classic quality/price ratio is unbeatable. Without a doubt vote 10.

Pros: Weight, build quality, optical quality, fast maf, a blade even at TA

Cons: light TA vignetting but there is

Opinion: After having had for a while the Fuji 90mm f2 I decided to buy some time ago this Viltrox 85mm 1.8 ... moral of the story ... Fuji sold, and Viltrox in my optical park... and that says a lot. Incrediblely engraved also in TA, fast focus, pleasant detachment of the subjects ... I did several outdoor shoots this summer and in many jobs I DECIDED to work mainly with this Viltrox for at least 80% of the shots ... the quality that comes out of it is incredible, the sharpness even at TA from applause ... and remember that it is still a lens that costs less than € 400. It is the second Viltrox lens that I keep pleasantly in my kit after giving away the respective Fuji (23mm and 90mm).

Pros: Build quality, sharpness, blur quality, overall performance

Cons: Hood mounting mechanism, chromatic aberration, lack of diaphragm ring, small AF uncertainties (Fujifilm X-T20)

Opinion: At the constructive level it looks very good, a beautiful piece of solid metal, with a not exaggerated weight and pleasant proportions. The focus ring is nice spacious and convenient to use. Its hardness is well calibrated for a palm grip, given the important size, but if you go to adjust with your fingertips as you are led more often to do, it is perhaps a little harder than the optimal comfort zone. However, it remains a pleasant experience. A great pity the lack of the diaphragm ring, but if it had to be without shots as in the Viltrox models with shorter focal length, perhaps it is better this way. On the side of the bayonet there is a micro USB port with which you can connect the lens to the PC in order to make firmware updates. The process is very simple, but the manufacturer could certainly engage a little more in the documentation (it is a couple of pages written on the fly with Word, without any formatting and with a lot of screenshots in Chinese), since it is not a 20 € plastic. But that's okay. What is not good at all is the mounting system of the hood: here it comes out of arrogance where Viltrox has saved: it is a system simply flawed and if I had not read negative comments about it before buying the lens, I would have considered it as defective. It is very hard to assemble and never goes to its seat on the first attempt. You have to stay there to try and try again with the risk of sliding everything to the ground, since it requires a lot of strength. Fortunately the plastic is quite resistant and at the moment I have not noticed fraying due to excessive handling. One word: very bad. I used this lens mainly for portrait photos and in different light conditions, and I must say that I am very satisfied with the returned look. The blur is extremely pleasant, the image is microcontrasted the right and the level of detail is elevated already to TA, to become excellent as soon as it closes by 1 stop. At F2.8 even at the edges everything is perfectly sharp. There is only one small, big problem: the lens suffers from chromatic aberration in an exaggerated way! Particularly in conditions of direct sunlight and in situations of strong contrast. If even a ray of sunlight falls on the subject, fuchsia bands appear on the edges. The serious thing is that the problem is also present in the center of the frame. And there is no way to limit the phenomenon in an acceptable way if not closing at F4! In the interiors or in shady areas there is no problem, but for TA photos under the sun, even of a faint autumn sunset, you have to take into account this big problem. The AF is quite responsive: in quiet situations the lens can easily keep up with the camera inputs. In the case of fast-moving subjects, such as a child running in our direction, we must take several photos in sequence to hope to have 1-2 in focus on the face. In short, fast but not a lightning bolt on X-T20. On two occasions I found the camera completely broken down with the lens that was constantly focus hunting: the first time it was resolved after a few seconds, the second time I had to restart the camera. It is difficult to say if it was a problem with the lens or a software glitch of the X-T20, but it seems right to report the problem.

Pros: Sharp, great overall construction, fast.

Cons: The attachment of the hood is painful.

Opinion: I took this lens for Nikon z6 to use during some ceremony and to have a fixed in the kit without spending a figure not being my main genre. The lens behaves very well already at the total aperture of the diaphragm, but it is at its best closing at 2.2 - 2.8. The autofocus is like my nikon 24-70 f4, the teaching automatisms etc work very well. It also performs very well in the backlight. I would say especially for the price at which it is proposed it turns out to be a very valid optics.

Pros: Sharpness, bokeh, built well apart from the hood

Cons: The worst hood I have ever handled, hard to find other obvious flaws at this price.

Opinion: Purchased on the fly given the cost. Excellent sharpness and bokeh. Having it in my hand gives me the feeling of a high-quality lens. Fast and reliable autofocus. I only tried it on an exit to the park but the sensations were very positive. The various vignetting and distortion defects present at maximum openings are easily corrected in post-production.

Pros: Sharpness, build quality, autofocus

Cons: Cheap and not very ergonomic plastic hood

Opinion: For the price at which it is sold it is certainly a great deal, given that the antagonist in the Fuji house costs almost triple (XF 90mm f2). Sharp already at full aperture, it has a good bokeh and an almost non-existent vignetting. Unfortunately, it suffers from longitudinal chromatic aberration, backlit flare and focus breathing. Despite these flaws, I can only recommend the purchase to those who delight in the portrait or want a medium bright canvas at an affordable cost. Do not forget the possibility of updating the firmware through a simple USB cable, certainly a plus.

Pros: price, yield and cotrutive quality.

Cons: hood that makes you angry.

Opinion: A great lens for portraits and more. I also used it for details of landscapes and close ups with very good results. A bit of difficulty in the close up of insects with automatic af, it is a bit difficult, but if you put it in manual on the tripod it has a yield and sharpness from fear. Colors compared to Fuji optics remain slightly cooler. For freehand portraits the af responds and hooks very well. For the cost yield, sharpness, precision and quality I recommend it, from great satisfaction. I use it on Fujifilm X S10 without problems, the lens is a bit heavy but the adequate and excellent grip of the camera give it the right balance. The only flaw is the hood ..... if you are in a hurry to mount it are pains and curses. A cumbersome and in my opinion ridiculous coupling system. These were the problems of a perspective.

Pros: Fantastic sharpness, excellent construction all aluminum, fast autofocus.

Cons: Plastic lampshed a little difficult to put and remove.

Opinion: Wonderful third-party optics for Fujifilm I use it on Xt3 that say extraordinary impressed me autofocus and excellent sharpness already at full opening f.1.8 metal construction like fuji and all glass, blurry beautiful and clearly cost. Only sore note the lampshon but if we are going to see the lampshaces of the original Fuji...... In conclusion, I am satisfied and good VILTROX!!!

Pros: super mechanics, exceptional sharpness, made colors a little cold but faithful and excellent saturation

Cons: weight, but that's obvious. lampshed sometimes difficult to put and remove

Opinion: gorgeous optics, price all in all affordable. The first model delivered to me by Amazon did not connect with my X-T4 or the X-E4. Made the return immediately and repurchased. Delivered after 24 hours, Amazon works fantastically. Taken few photos for logistical problems but those taken at the surrounding buildings show excellent yield. Saturated colors, cold, but very faithful. The only problem, but of course it's not straight, is that it's very massive and heavy. All glass and steel. super.

Pros: 99% sharpness from edge to edge, mechanical quality, AF speed

Cons: No x now..

Opinion: Mamma mia che ottica, price ratio performance really shocking. Superb mechanical quality, truly remarkable aesthetics for a third-party optics. The mechanical and electronic connection with my perfect Z6II, no Autofocus problems, all the functions of the Z6II perfectly maintained, even easily upgradable firmware. Amazing optical quality for the price offered, sharpness from edge to edge and this already at full opening, the bokeh can be considered, in my opinion, its strong point. Very slight, but really very slight chromatic aberration at the extreme edges. Quality equal to the 85 1.8 G with Ftz adaptor in every sense, and therefore does not make me regret it, also because the 85 mounted on FTZ can not be looked at. 10 and Praise !!!!

Pros: Build quality, sharpness, speed in hooking the eye, great

Cons: For now, no one

Opinion: Tried in tandem with a Sigma Art 85mm and I must say that I absolutely have no regrets about the Sigma. In fact, the fact that it weighed half and was half the size is definitely a big plus. Hooked to the Z6 then aesthetically it's really gorgeous. A really good lens, absolutely recommended. I was afraid of regretting the Nikon 85mm, but at the end of the day I think you can't ask for more at 85mm.

Pros: Metal construction, beautiful; blurry, sharpness, very competitive price, fast AF

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: This morning I purchased this objective recommended to me by Mr. Guido di Ottica Universitaria here in Rome with whom I befriended after purchasing the Nikon Z6 II bodysuit from his store. By telephone, he had explained to me the merits of this perspective by inviting me to go to the store to evaluate in person. Well, he was right! Meanwhile, the lens is well packed in a double heavy cardboard package, accompanying there are a small pocket of microfiber, a sheet with instructions in English, a card for registering the warranty. Solid construction and really well made all in metal, including flange; heavy, I think, the right. From the few test shots the lens was very very responsive in the very precise and at the same time silent focus; truly sharpness at the highest levels and splendid boken. I do not think we can expect any more than this price!

Pros: Sharpness, boken, construction, autofocus

Cons: His name is Viltrox

Opinion: Bought for Nikon Z6 this lens really surprised me. Impeccable metal and glass construction like modern Zeiss, crazy sharpness all over the frame already at f1.8, very responsive and precise autofocus and then the price costs less than half the Nikon Z 85mm f1.8 S. In my opinion if you had called Zeiss everyone would exalt its qualities, but it would be priced at least 1,500 € more. Unfortunately your name is Viltrox and I like you like you that way.

Pros: Quiet autofocus, great sharpness and price

Cons: For now, no one

Opinion: I have only just purchased this objective, so it is a little early to make a judgment on it. However, from the few shots I took, I was amazed at the quality both in construction and optical terms. I did a comparative test with other optics in my possession and I have to say that the result was very positive, so I recommend it extensively. It is worth all 379.00 euros and even more.

Pros: All

Cons: Nobody.

Opinion: Although I only have it for a few days I realized on the fly, taking some shots and my ritual caserecci tests, that this optics is excellent. If I had to synthesize I would say that I feel like I have an ART f1,8, both as a yield and as a construction. The use on Sony A7rII and produces spectacular images, I can not find defects, even in weight, which for an f1.8 is not very little, but that I see it necessary for it to produce such beautiful and flawless images. It is very sharp at all diaphragms and at all distances, produces clear and well contrasted images even at full opening, blurry decidedly pleasant, excellent in the backlight, silent autofocus and fast enough, has an impeccable construction, to update the firmware just a USB, even the packaging is excellent, finally very competitive price. What more could you want? For me the ring of the diaphragms, but unfortunately on that front is in good company, so you have to "settle". A nice 10 for me who love f1.8s

Pros: Autofocus and sharpness.

Cons: At the moment no one

Opinion: I think I am the first to make a judgment on this goal, purchased for Nikon Z6ii and Nikon Z7. Viltrox, contrary to all forecasts, was the first third-party company to produce an autofocus lens with Zmount attack. It is a very simple lens in its construction, in fact there is only the ring for manual focus and nothing else. It's quite light, 484 grams with a filter diameter of 72 mm, so quite large, and takes all the automatisms from the camera, like autofocus, stabilizer, and everyone else in the room. From the first shots, I noticed that the focus is equal to the Zmount Nikon objectives, while for the quality of the fail, I reserve the right to deepen the covid situation allowing. I can at the moment express satisfaction, polluted we are also allowed to make choices other than the native Nikon objectives that although they are of an exaggerated quality, they also have not indifferent prices, especially for photo amateurs like me.

Pros: Sharpens quality of price materials in relation to performance.

Cons: Lack of stabilization.

Opinion: Viltrox is producing high-performance optics with excellent value for money. I took the 85 f1.8 for my xt2. But we need to be able to manage it. Being heavy and without stabilization you have to shoot at times not less than 1/125, using the AFC. Surely on xs10 xt4 and XH1 the problem is solved due to the presence of the stabilized sensor. Update: I tried it more thoroughly. It's just great. You don't have to be fooled by the photos seen in the car. On the PC and in print it really makes excellent. As soon as possible I will take 23 1.4.

Pros: All

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: Tried, though quickly, lent to me by a friend, on xpro2 and H1. Fast af and impeccable photographic quality, but not in relation to the price, in absolute value, is given away. Those who expect a Leica or Zeiss or other are off the road but would be nonsensical comparisons, but already compared to Fuji it has the same yield and a decidedly different cost. Ultra recommended.
