Pros: Great sharpness, low CA, very low distortion.F/2 wide aperture, 1:1 ratio

Cons: Slow and noisy AF, The body quality is not very good and there is a possibility of dust entering the lens. Only 7 blades aperture.

Opinion: I've had this lens for almost 11 years, and Except for the slow and noisy focus and the not-so-sturdy body, in other respects this lens is very attractive and good. The wide f/2 aperture also makes it a great option for portrait photography. Very little distortion and CA, along with very good sharpness, make this lens very likable, provided you can overlook the old focus system and not-so-good body.

Pros: Sharp lens all over the frame, even at TA, bright, valid for portraits of animals, flowers, insects, still life, even landscapes, day and night. True macro 1:1. Only true macro with maximum diaphragm f/2. Low focus distance. Manual fire adjustment very precise.

Cons: Tight for interior shots. Slow and erratic autofocus. Diaphragm only to 7 slats, which gives blurred a little nervous, but maybe it's not really a flaw for such value for money...

Opinion: UPDATE after a year of use: great glass! I took it used, unfortunately without a lampshade (I had to settle for a rubber one), and over time I learned to know it and to appreciate it. Coupled with the Sony A68, it rarely misses a click, PP interventions are limited and often the file is already nice and ready as it is. The autofocus, silent, is slow and often does what it wants, but luckily you can intervene manually even with the inserted AF, and then remember that, at least for macro shooting, you should always use the lens in manual. The sharpness is remarkable already at TA, although in this case you have to make considerable efforts with the focus, given the very small PDC, and you are often rewarded with bokeh results as original as unpredictable! Already closing by a stop the whole frame is more incisive, and at f/4 becomes a blade. I photographed almost everything, favored by the very small distance of focus: insects, flowers, inanimate objects, dogs, josa, without disdaining the interior, always a little "tight", and the landscapes, those of day, the nocturnal ones and starry skies, I even ventured portraits of human beings, but in the latter case I stopped, at least for now; in all these cases, although it is not such an easy lens, I had my beautiful satisfactions. I recommend it.

Pros: Aperture, focus, internal focus, ring and scale of large and precise focus

Cons: jerky ring, little rugged construction, noisy and slow autofocus, no focus limiter

Opinion: I purchased this lens after the death of my Nikkor 60mm old model, or AF-D metal. The reason why I continue to support a macro to a long-short (the Sigma 150mm f2.8 stabilized) is I use the extension tubes to the fact that Nikon unfortunately we do not have a single copy in the 'magnifying like the Canon 65mm (up to 5: 1). My choice therefore fell on this ultralight and economic model of the Tamron, for APS-C, for a number of reasons: opening up to f2 aperture enviable making it also applicable to the picture, a good yield, the absence of the barrel in fuocheggiando extension, thus maintaining the distance between the end of the lens and the subject always constant in the maximum magnification, and low weight that make it assembled to Kenko extension tubes without fear of breakage. D 'on the other hand, is missing the feeling of total 60mm Nikkor old version robustness. The focus ring has a wide excursion well reported on the scale, which makes the manual focusing accurate and never approximate even without a micrometer slide (which in any case I use easel); the absence of a focus limiter was something that you could instead easily remedied. A free hand, the autofocus is very noisy and slow, in line with the low Tamron products price range.

Pros: Sharpness and not stretching Barrel

Cons: Slow in af.

Opinion: Great macro lens for APS-C from the very affordable cost, its yield for both macro and portraits is exceptional, I recommend it to all who want to approach to macro photography and I'm sure you will not repent of spending. That it is only for APS-C in my opinion does not matter since its sharpness in this format is admirable, look at the photos taken down, I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot in all its qualities. The only flaw is slow in af, but in the macro maf is used in manual and if you need to create a portrait does his duty. Greetings to all.

Pros: Sharpness at all apertures, weight, f2,

Cons: At slow and lack of last limiter, only for aps-c.

Opinion: It is exceptional optics, the only macro 60mm f / 2. Sharpest already ta and with an excellent focus. Too bad it's only for aps-c. It is also lightweight, despite not having a ring-shaped ultrasonic motor, has the full manual fuocus. The only flaws are a slow af that without a limiter will affect some 'other uses to which I think would fit nicely, as ritrattistica.rn
