Pros: Sharpness wide open, size, overall rendering

Cons: AF speed

Opinion: The stirrup is not necessary for me and I find it the right compromise for those undemanding walks (max 1-2 hours) where you want to take something "longer" with you if ever needed. In any case, in the famous site I took the bracket for 35 € because 150 € for the original seemed to me a moment thrown away (but why don't I use it). The focus is not lightning fast, it's true, but with the A7C II and the tracking with bird recognition it surprised me in a positive way making me take home over 70% of shots in focus but perhaps the credit goes to Sony rather than Tamron. In any case, I liked the lens immediately for its performance and it also lends itself very well to portraits, producing interesting and not very artificial blurs. I've had the 100-400 on Nikon in the past but as a lens it had nothing to do with this one in terms of responsiveness but mostly in terms of performance. Well done Tamron.

Pros: Great Price, Scary Sharpness, Versatility, Low Weight and Size

Cons: The ring and the bracket to balance it on the tripod is purchased separately, the focus could improve

Opinion: I looked at this lens immediately as soon as it came out, so I call Sergio from Fotoema to try it immediately and be able to recommend it to all landscape photographers. Tamron as always respects the promises and our expectations. The lens has a very low cost if we think that a similar lens costs twice as much. This telephoto is slightly smaller than the Sony 100-400, it is sharp to die for at all focal lengths, even at 400mm. The ring unfortunately is not included and you have to buy it separately, there is original and also secondary brands but I recommend the original Tamron to have good stability on tripods. Using it a little I noticed with great amazement that even if it is a canvas and even on distant lights pulls to make the stars around the lights of the street lamps, this was a nice surprise, because the canvases generally do not define a large star around the lights. The focus works, it is responsive and quite precise, but compared to the sony it is the only thing I found worse, let's say that on the Tamron 50-400 in addition to being slightly slower it is a little more difficult to hook, but we talk about landscape and in night situations far from easy to deal with. The tropicalization like all Tamrons I think is good enough but I do not have and will not have the opportunity to try it as the lens is in my hands only temporarily. A purchase that I recommend to all those who do not want to spend 2600 euros for the sony 100-400 and also to all those who want to avoid buying in addition to the telephoto also a fixed 85, because with the Tamron 50-400 you are covered up to 50mm!!!

Pros: Build quality, excellent performance from 50 to 400, 0.50x macro, USB port for upgrade and customization switch, stabilized, tropicalized, silent AF

Cons: Weight, lack of tripod collar, AF not very fast, no multipliers

Opinion: I was looking for a supertele that would also cover low focal lengths, so as not to change lenses during the day. The downside is having to carry 1.5kg of stuff around your neck. Very sharp at all focal lengths, slight vignetting at 400mm. The colors are quite neutral. I expected more from the AF Linear Motor in terms of responsiveness, it's also one of the reasons why I preferred it to the Sigma 100-400 (Stepper Motor), but I actually find them at the same level. Another reason that made me prefer it to Sigma is the macro capacity, 0.50x has nothing to envy to many macro lenses. Given the price, they could include the tripod collar. The original costs another 130€ if you find it on offer. If you want an all-in-one lens that allows you to range from the classic 50mm to the very long 400mm, with the possibility of close and macro AF, then it is worth the money spent.

Pros: - Wide focal length - Excellent performance on the entire focal length (considering the price range) - Fluid zoom - Good construction - Customizable switches - Autofocus even with low brightness.

Cons: - Not really a feather but can replace two lenses safely - Tripod collar not included but practically necessary (so +150€ if you don't have it already)

Opinion: I use it on my Sony A7 IV and I must say that it amazed me. Surely it is not a very fast lens but for outdoor and illuminated environments I find it phenomenal. I use it mainly for landscaping and so far it has not disappointed me. Carrying it around on a mirrorless is felt a bit of imbalance (but normal) and therefore the tripod collar is practically mandatory both to hold the camera and to shoot, fortunately it is compatible with the collar for TAMRON 100-400
