Pros: Size (ça va sans dire), design, general construction, many functions that do not regret those of a mid-level SLR.

Cons: Delicate flash pop-up mechanism, although very useful and efficient. For the rest, a compact with all the characteristics of a minimal machine with great potential. It is a good challenge for those who are used to more complex systems (nb. not complicated ...). It can be very irritating or very "restful", depending on the user.

Opinion: I took this machine to have a little demanding and even less bulky contraption, for better quality fotine than those of my mobile phone. I was not wrong, very funny and if necessary I screw the Manfrotto tripod and go self-timer. The flash defends itself well, even in "rear" mode for moderate macros; it's just a little delicate (a bit much). Care must be taken when pushing it into its housing after use. The machine fits perfectly in the palm of your hand, a glove. Having a mobile phone not very performing and now antiquo I installed an old version of the application necessary for transferring photos via Wi-Fi. A bit cumbersome (to be honest not even so much, there is worse ..), but it works. With newer mobile phones and apps, the user experience will certainly be better. The removable viewfinder is very small, but it could not be otherwise. I also like to use it in manual, with some care and with a little patience. The risk of blur is perpetually lurking. The automatisms work properly. Someone says that this machine is slow ... mah, it may be, but it is not that one buys it to freeze the take-off of a duck at the first light of dawn or the peach of the Martin ....

Pros: You know... It is very small and the optics are good. Then the viewfinder, however small, is a gift in certain contexts.

Cons: It often overexposes... Often but not always, which is worse. Quite inefficient white balance.

Opinion: It is small and allows you to take beautiful photos. The batteries are tiny, you can have 3 or 4 behind them without problems. The sensor is good up to maximum 1600 iso. Valid optics, the wide aperture as well as being a boon for the iso allows you to have a little blur. The problems of this machine are the inefficiency in exhibiting, it often burns the lights to have excessively clear shadows, only it does not always do it. In addition, the WB is wrong in case of artificial light.

Pros: Compact, wifi, mobile screen, good Raw performance (compared to other 1" devices)

Cons: Feeling fragility viewfinder, to be well used requires the addition of a rubber "cheek" that favors the grip, slow AF in the street

Opinion: Bought second-hand, it replaced the RX100 Mk1 in my motorcycle bag mainly for four reasons: portability, viewfinder (awkward but functional), mobile screen and wifi. Sometimes I regret the greater focal length of the mark1, but in most cases the equivalent 24-70 is enough for me. The AF is a little slow, especially when used in moving street, but it does its job. The results are more than good for a 1" sensor and the Raw are well workable. The aperture of the lens allows you to photograph in low light without having to force the ISO too much (over 1600 the quality of the images drops ... as it is logical). The built-in Nd filter is convenient as well as the small flash. Autonomy is sufficient. The RX100 M3 is a good compromise between cost and results, of course, the latest releases have many more features, but they cost a bang! I found it with charger and rubber cheek under 400E.

Pros: Size, intuitive and complete menu, light opening, 24-70,great jpeg quality, 20mgpx

Cons: viewfinder too small

Opinion: I took this used machine because I needed practicality, small size and jpg shots to transfer on the fly on the phone in wifi and then on pc. I am very very satisfied with the purchase. I generally use canon 6d and 7dmk2 in raw for more busy photos, but this manages to replace a reflex as a travel chamber. Jpeg files are great (even at 20mgpx)turning off the noise filter are very similar to raw, the grain from 800 iso is excellent and fine even in jpeg. Excellent also the management of automatic iso with 1/3 of switches so you do not automatically switch from 800 1600 3200 etc as in previous versions. The menu is easy and professional and you have total control of the machine, just the viewfinder is a little too small to have a clear view. Excellent light optics, at night 1.8 and 2.8 makes the difference by setting 1/15 with the excellent stabilizer. The 24-70 is equivalent to a all-rounder lens of a reflex ff. Congratulations to Sony

Pros: Compactness, image quality, brightness

Cons: Focal excursion, crosshairs mechanism, 4K lack.

Opinion: I come from an RX100 Mk 1 that I used for 5 years and held the Mk 3 only a year to switch to the Mk 6. It satisfied me but not fully. The image quality is good but the focal hike is too limited for my taste. I appreciated the brightness of the lens, especially at 24mm, while the viewfinder mechanism is uncomfortable and you end up not using it. Autofocus is on mk 1 levels, good but much lower than subsequent series. Very small improvement in ISO noise.
