Pros: Fast and accurate AF, usable focal range, sharp at 24 mm (fully comparable wqith primes), effective VR

Cons: Brutal vignetting wide open (not so easy to remove), less sharp within 80-105mm focal range

Opinion: Not a bad value for money, but brutal vignetting wide open and f4 is limiting factors. At the end of the day, it is better to use a prime lenses :) Fast and accurate AF, usable focal range, sharp at 24 mm (fully comparable wqith primes), effective VR, less sharp within 80-105mm focal range. Otherwise, bokeh is quite pleasing, although not much pronounced due to the f4.

Pros: He has quite a few

Cons: I haven't found any

Opinion: You only have to hold it in your hands to realize how much quality this Sigma 24-105 has to show. Impeccable construction, worthy of the noble Nikon (in my case) Fluid rings, not at all hard to rotate them. The quality of the plastics is top-notch, including the lens hood which, as is well known, is always the Achilles' heel of almost all optics. I think the glasses of this optic are excellent even at maximum aperture. Of course, the weight is felt! but you know.... Weight is also synonymous with quality. A great all-rounder, it has nothing to envy to the Nikon 24-120 f/4, except for those extra 15mm. But they're not a problem, at least for me. I've had it and used it for some time (I'm talking about the Nikon 24-120 f/4) but this Sigma from the Art series didn't make me regret it. To date, there are no back/front focus problems, but the problem can be solved. Today I use it on Z6 via FTZII adapter. There is a bit of imbalance, especially when it comes to tripod mounting. Rated 9 without any doubt

Pros: Much better than it looks

Cons: It is not tropicalized and eats the extreme edges at 24 mm

Opinion: What do you want it to be is the usual 24-105 ! No wrong, it's a Mr. 24-105 that at F4 you have a scary 24-40 mm as center and median sharpness, and so if you go to do street or reportage it's BINGO. You want to do landscape: it has a 28-70mm flat, edge-to-edge at f8. With the portrait you have an excellent 80 and a 105 that put to the whips could seem weak, but in reality with the conscious use of software such as PhotoAi2 you recover the finest details, to be clear at 24 mpx you don't see the difference with the tamron 70-200g2 at 100 mm. So yes it's not like a fixed, but in real use the differences are just minimal. THE FIRE?? It's there, and if it's not there, now with Photoshop Camera Raw you can go from F4 to F2 in a flash. You don't have the blur of a 50 1.4 or an 85 1.4, but then bring a fixed one for special occasions. In summary, you take 80% of the photos in a trip, for the rest you bring a fixed to the focal length you like. Yes but F4 is dark I have to raise the iso!! Now with Dxophotolab you develop the 20000 iso in an exceptional way and in any case it is stabilized and shooting at 1/10 is feasible. Rated 9 deserved. Used on Nikon D850 D800. precise. No problem with Front Back focus.

Pros: Very versatile, good sharpness only on some focal lengths

Cons: Front focus and back focus

Opinion: Used for two years and returned to Canon as soon as I could: blurred optics between 35 and 70 mm, it was necessary to correct front focus problems, stabilizer that leaves doubts when using long shutter speeds. Inaccurate autofocus. Comparing it with other f/4 (e.g. 70/200 Canon) there is an abyss in terms of sharpness at f/4, you have to close; in comparison, of course, Canon optics are very precise and with f/4 aperture they "split hairs". As far as I'm concerned, a bad purchase of which I had to change my mind by going back to the 24-105 Canon.

Pros: Solid construction, precise rings, generally works well.

Cons: weight, diffraction, poor stabilization...

Opinion: This specimen puzzles me. If you close a couple of stops to reach a more or less optimal sharpness, and you have good light, ok (otherwise if the shot is slow you immediately risk the shake, then stabilization of dubious utility). From f8 to f11 we are at the limit, in the sense that going beyond it suffers from an evident diffraction that in some cases compromises the photo. Even the various focal lengths behave differently. 24mm ok, from 35 to 70 leaves something to be desired, at 105 it can go as long as you do not close the diaphragm too much. Overall judgment: from an Art series I expected a security, but it is clear that Sigma excels in fixed (with which I have never encountered problems of any kind). As a handyman, even if pesantuccio, I recognize that it is comfortable but I would never leave the other lenses at home for the reasons I have listed.
