Pros: Sharpness, Contrast, Good color rendering even at high iso.

Cons: Considerable weight, unbalanced forward

Opinion: I bought this used lens and at a good price. I had doubts because I was used to the quality and handling of the Canon 300 2.8 IS 1st version, but too short a focal length, I never decided to switch to a zoom. After a few months that I am using this Sigma 150-600 Sport, I must say that I am satisfied, as I found a specimen absolutely free from front/ back focus and on my 5D MK IV it works very well. The lens is made with excellent materials and the feeling is to have in your hands a sturdy and quality lens. Unfortunately I can not express a completely positive judgment about the weight that is felt a lot if you use it freehand, other than everything is strongly unbalanced forward and even the use with monopod or tripod, in my opinion requires the addition of a bracket longer than the original one supplied. The quality of the images is of a good level even at high Iso, colors and contrast are more than appreciable. A negative note in my opinion is this: I find the Lock key of the focal block almost useless for the way it was made; primarily because it can not be blocked on intermediate focal lengths eg: 450 - 550 mm. Etc. and secondly it tends to disengage easily when resting the lens on the side of the hood in an upright position or when doing stray hunting with the lens hooked to the monopod. However, if I have to express my opinion on this lens I think it is completely positive, and the value for money is one of the best. Promoted with flying colors.

Pros: Sharpness, good color rendering, contrast, sense of solidity from pro optics, focal range, possibility of customization through dock station

Cons: High weight that makes it almost impossible to use freehand, dock station to be purchased separately

Opinion: I consider this lens a great match for my Canon EOS 7D Mki and Canon Eso 1d Mark IV. I bought it used in impeccable condition and it was really a big step up compared to the old Canon 100-400. Holding him in his arms for a long time is almost impossible. It is almost mandatory to use it with a tripod or supported. The autofocus is fast and accurate. In my opinion this lens has an excellent quality / price ratio and is almost a must for nature or sports photography.

Pros: Sharpness, good color rendering, contrast, makes dark shades lighter (black acquires shape and consequently is not a black spot), the images are sculpted on the sensor so much so that you get beautiful photos even at high ISO. So you get beautiful photos even in low light.

Cons: It is heavy and this implies greater difficulty in stopping the viewfinder on the subject when shooting freehand, thanks to a not exciting image stabilizer

Opinion: In my opinion it is a great match for my Canon EOS 7D MkII, indeed it was a pleasant surprise. I bought it used and probably the previous owner had already calibrated it, the fact is that where I aim with the optical viewfinder focuses. Often photographing with other lenses a person dressed in black or a black cat I could not see the "shape of black". Using the flash things improved a lot. With this lens there is no need for flash, dark shades open and take shape. Even more surprising the beautiful photos (in my opinion) that are obtained even at high ISO, it seems that the noise decreases. It can be a problem to use this lens freehand, in fact with my 7D you get almost 4 Kg (including the metal hood) which are many. But using it you have the idea of a very robust and well-groomed lens. Hold him for a long time in his tired arms. Clearly it is better to use it with a tripod or leaning. To change the focal length this lens can be used "pump", that is, if with the right hand you hold the camera and with the left hand squeezes the base of the hood then moving the left hand away from the right increases the focal length and vice versa. I find this mechanism very useful in photography to moving subjects that if anything appear suddenly. The image stabilizer is not excellent. The speed of Autofocus seems normal to me, that is, fast. In my opinion this lens has an excellent quality/price ratio and consequently my rating is 10.

Pros: Excellent price quality

Cons: weight

Opinion: I wanted to replace my 100-400 Canon with the 150-600 Sigma also to have those 200 mm more that sometimes suits me, the store where I provide myself with one used and from there I immediately understood that this is a lens to be used only with the easel and at most with the monopied causes the very unbalanced weight forward ,letting lose weight and imbalance,I can say that I like the lens very much even if Canon in my opinion is a little faster in focus in my opinion, but at the moment I am finding myself well, excellent lens that I recommend to those who take naturalistic photos in huts

Pros: good value for money, construction and tropicalization. Defined images but nothing to do with top optics.

Cons: unbalanced in front

Opinion: I write as a former owner of Tamron 150-600 old non-tropicalized type and as a occasional user of top optics (on loan-in the company of other naturalists). So, I had to give up the Tamron because dust came in, usually i shoot lying with the lens resting on the ground or almost. I shouldn't have a problem with this Sigma because it's tropicalized. The lens is quite sharp (I repeat, a fixed Nikon 400 has quite another solution, making comparisons with top lenses makes no sense), opens the shadows well, the blurry is not to scream. In terms of solving it is superior to Tamron, to have incisiveness in the images it is necessary to close to F8 and have good light, it is clear that the medium resolving capacity does not allow very high ISO. On the autofocus side nothing to say, quick enough. Taken used at 900 € without a scratch and with two years warranty I can not complain and I can not make comparisons with stuff that costs 10 times as much. I highly recommend this lens to those who make birdlife, for other purposes it is an unusable boulder.

Pros: Good resolution (still acceptable at 600mm with maximum aperture), high build quality, decent focus system, ring or pump zoom.

Cons: Considerable weight and distribution of the same very uneven, calibration with Sigma Dock (absolutely necessary) complicated, attack foot for the stand too short and zoom ring a little hard.

Opinion: In the pros and cons I wanted to list the most relevant things, but now I have to be a little more precise and I press that my terms of comparison are always slow Canon my or friends'. I have done countless tests with optical aims built with cardboard, paper, colors and glue for short distances, but I have tried the zoom also in the field, especially in the city, which has allowed me to take advantage of indispensable regular elements and just perspective glimpses to highlight any problems of sealing even at long distances. I focused in particular on the focal lengths of 400 and 600 millimeters, those that interest me most (the focals 150, 250 and 300 fortunately did not need adjustments). Initially the disappointment was so much, the quality of the images at the first shots was decidedly poor. Then, after the first calibrations with Sigma Dock, things improved, but it took a long time to get the right calibrations. I think it is absurd to market a product that needs, right after purchase, such meticulous setting interventions, however it is better to have this opportunity that avoids sending to service centers (moreover the calibration software, although well done, leaves many things to chance, that is, there are no precise mathematical references or focus distances that can be modified according to clear measures , we proceed by trial and error and that is why it takes a very long time). The quality of the images obtained after countless settings was more than good, perhaps with a resolution lower than that of the 500 Canon IS II, but comparable if not slightly higher than that of the 100-400 Canon IS II (naturally with the same focal lengths and excellent light conditions). I was also impressed by the yield at 600 millimeters, especially with the closed diaphragm of at least one stop, but at 6.3 the photographs are still good. I wanted to extreme the comparative tests by adding to the 100-400 Canon the Canon 1.4X III extender and the 150-600 Sigma the 1.4X Sigma the Teleconverter TC-1401 and came the second surprise: qualitative loss of undeniable photos, but not traumatic, in my opinion the Canon with 1.4X behaves a little worse. Needless to say, one defect found was the obvious vignetting, especially at the most important focal points, but I do not find this a tragedy. The real problem with this objective, I believe, is above all the weight, not so much because of the transport difficulties, but also because of the freehand use and also on the stand where it remains too unbalanced forward with a high probability of obtaining moving images that may appear wrongly out of focus, the stabilizer does what it can, but often it is not enough if the light conditions are not really good and the exposure times remain too long. To try to minimize the problem I bought a telescopic fork support, of those used to support rifles, with this things improve a little, better than the classic single-seater I would say, but a very sturdy stand, possibly rocky, remains the best choice. The solid foot of the zoom should be replaced with a longer one (there is a dedicated one that costs an eye of the head, money that Sigma from me will never see), the cloth lens cover is well done, while of the focus system I can say that it does its duty, its speed is customizable with the usual Signa Dock which also offers other customizations of minor importance in my opinion. There is still much to be said, but I have touched on all the essential points. I certainly do not feel able to recommend the Sigma compared to other objectives that I do not know and perhaps it is not even an alternative to the 100-400 Canon IS II because the weight changes and not a little. However, I consider these qualitative zooms to be very similar, in the sigma there are 200 millimeters more if needed.

Pros: AF speed and accuracy, sharpness, build quality, stabilizer effectiveness, dual zoom system (ring/pump), value for money, upgradeable/customizable via USB dock

Cons: Weight

Opinion: Fantastic lens, with a very high quality / price ratio. Combined with the D500's autofocus, it allows you to get excellent photos of fast-moving subjects, with high sharpness already at full aperture. The lens is quite heavy and if possible it would be better to use it with a monopiede but on occasions when this is not possible it remains the same usable even freehand (I got great photos taking freehand on a dinghy) although after a few minutes the muscles of the arms require a little respite. While it is quite heavy, the positive face of the medal is given by the excellent construction quality: completely tropicalized, metal body, very high attention to detail, from this point of view it is really difficult to make criticisms. A separate chapter should be dedicated to zooming, which can be managed both via the classic ring, and using the "pump" lens such as the Canon 100-400 first version. I find the pump system extremely effective when you have to photograph subjects in rapid movement towards us: with the zoom at 150mm they are located and, holding the front of the lens firmly, you use the pump system to get to fully frame the subject. In this way it is much easier - than with the ring - to follow the movement of the subject and at the same time, if you are using the freehand lens, give greater stability to the body+lens set. I have not yet used it in particularly dusty environments but so far I have not found dust between the lenses: the excellent tropicalization and construction quality I believe manages to limit or exclude what is a recurring problem in other lenses equipped with zooms of this type. Through the USB Dock Sigma it is possible to intervene on the accuracy /adjustment of the AF (Personally I did not need it with any of the machines with which I used it: D700, D500, Z6) and it is possible to update its firmware. Last note for those who have Nikon: it works without any problem with mirrorless, obviously mounting the FTZ adapter (in my case, as written above, Z6).

Pros: AF speed, sharpness, tropicalization, usb dock for adjustments and calibrate the lens

Cons: weight, but you are aware of that fact when you buy this lens

Opinion: My opinion will be very short, having tried it on the field only today, I reserve to update the review when I have tested it better. What amazed me right away was the speed of MAF and image quality. I also had the 150-600 C that I then sold, from what I remember, the MAF of the S is better than the C, although at the time I had bought it that had just come out and therefore had not yet released any subsequent firmware, so I do not know if the sigma C with the new firmware is improved, and improved even in comparison to the S with the new firmware. However, as many have already said, the problem is not the weight itself, although of course almost 3.5 kg are felt, rather the forward imbalance of the lens makes it tiring to use it freehand, but it is not impossible, having succeeded today, when I went to try it on the field (I was also lucky to find a greater red beat juv. , photos in the gallery if you want to see them). It seems clear to me that freehand is not a lens that can be used for a long time, after a few minutes you have to rest, that's why I recommend hooking the strap to the lens, so as to carry it on the shoulder, or to buy a cottoncarrier harness, or similar, so as to relieve the weight if you get wandering away , as I mainly do.

Pros: The excellent image quality, especially in the center of the frame, the arrangement of the buttons, the possibilities of customization, the excellent speed of autofocus, the construction quality in general, with particular praise about tropicalization.

Cons: Not so much the weight, which is not so much deadly, and of which in any case it is necessary to make a reason, but the very shifted distribution of the same.

Opinion: An excellent lens, able to return images of great quality, precision, and graphic fidelity; close to the levels of those obtainable with a primary lens (which, of course, is, first and among other things, much brighter!), especially in the center of the negative. When extended to 600mm, the loss of acuteness, at an aperture of f/6.3, is almost negligible compared to that of a twin photo taken at f/8... Although, the diaphrammare at f/8, will certainly earn a little, something that, perhaps, a little contrast mask will never be able to outline from scratch (some micro-feathers, some textural detail, of the fine fluff ...). In any case, a choice must be made, during use at the maximum focal extension. A little more bokeh, or a little more detail? In short: Sigma Sport is a lens that is doing really well, that constitutes my telezoom of choice, and whose weight, however unbalanced, personally, I do not consider to be excessive even to carry out stray photographic hunting activities. As well as able to rival, in terms of sharpness, also with the Sigma 500mm f/4. The Tamron, on the other hand, its eternal rival and punctual creator of so many of our dilemmas is, in turn, an excellent goal, certainly better suited to meet the needs of all, far lighter and more manageable, but which, in any case, when extended to 600mm and maintained at f/6.3, turns out to be really soft ... Even on a more global analysis, Sigma is able to create images considerably better than those of tamron, my old man, and for years untraceable, slow of ordinance.

Pros: FAST AF (if docked in speed priority ), very high sharpness (comparable to 500 f4 on some bodies, read after ), completely metal construction

Cons: Weight that does not allow freehand use (I am a bodybuilder of 96kg and I think I can definitely decree it )

Opinion: It's a lens that amazed me, especially when I tested the sharpness at F8 against a 500 f4 Nikon. First argument I treat, which is probably also the most requested: unless you use D500 and D850 you will NOT see differences in a 1:1 comparison. Such subtleties in fact emerge thanks to the important pixel density of the aforementioned machines, which rightly declare the fixed winner. The problem is that the difference is NOT scary, and on 24mpx machines with AA filter there are no differences. Of course, these considerations apply to F8, to TA the Nikon gains brightness etc. with the obvious reflections of the case. Another aspect that I compared is the speed of AF, and even here I found no substantial differences. It is true that the Sigma can sometimes reed the shot, but it is also true that objectively if set by dock in priority of focus with the distance limiter placed at our leisure, the usability is almost identical. Trying to overtake on long sloets, it's a lens that's definitely excellent. Unfortunately it has a very important weight that severely limits its use freehand, if not in my opinion prohibits. Sigma, however, has deliberately taken this direction, even inserting a metal screw-attachment (super-tele Nikon style). For the destination of use so I think it is the perfect lens for traveling photo hunting from shed, where the focal excursion represents a real added value compared to a fixed lens. For lovers of long distances and quality, however, I believe that a 500 f4 is inevitably a more sensible choice. For those who manage to get close enough not to crop, I doubt that the investment of a fixed lens is justified, considering above all the fact that the real gain of sharpness I do not think exceeds 10%, and even with comparisons 1:1 to F8, it is necessary to really have the trained eye to recognize what the zoom is and which the fixed.

Pros: AF very fast, sharpness, precision AF, focal hikes, build quality, price, weight and tropicalization

Cons: Sharpness, fixed tripod collar, balancing with light machine bodies

Opinion: I have had this lens for more than four months, and I have to say that I am very satisfied with the purchase. Supertele Zoom very versatile, from nature photography to Motosport, in short, all genres that require a certain distance from the subject. High quality construction, very solid and resistant, tested in all weather conditions, rain, snow and humidity, despite this has never given problems in terms of performance. The sharpness is really good at f/6.3 (600mm) But if you close it to 7.1 becomes a beautiful razor blade. The weight many consider it a problem, but to remember that the Bianconi house Canon weigh from 1 to 3kg more (just think of the 500 F4 first generation with about 5kg) so also on this nothing to say, if not for long photographic sessions , at least one monopod is a must. Only flaw (in my opinion) is the collar for the tripod not removable, which in some situations may result in obstruction. Obviously this lens is not sensible to compare it to the large L series of canon because the Sigma with €1800 we bring home a good compromise against the approximately €10,000 of 600 F4 is II canon. In short, this is a great lens for those who like me to do naturalistic without selling a kidney to buy the original "first". More than satisfied, rated 9.5 out of 10

Pros: Focal excursion, fast and reactive AF, stabilizer, tropicalization and construction

Cons: The weight

Opinion: I have this lens for over a year and I have to say that I am very satisfied. The AF is accurate and fast and the lens is very usual and well Built. I tripped in any weather and never made a fold. Cons are that it is not a lens for tutti...il weight is felt especially in wandering hunting and hiking in the mountains but if you know where to move the game is worth the Candle. For challenging dislevels It is unthinkable to take it behind you should have a good alternative to bring YOU. Overall I am very satisfied and I feel I recommend it.

Pros: Construction, AF speed, focal length, sharpness, price, stabilization.

Cons: Weight, precision AF, Lens hood and bedcover, optical block.

Opinion: I have been using the Sigma 150-600s for about three years and have been able to test it in different environments and conditions. The lens is solid and professional, of excellent workmanship and aesthetically pleasing. Among the positive notes its sharpness, especially in the short/medium distances, which combined with the stabilization give the possibility of good shots. Even at 600 the AF is sufficiently fast but not always accurate. Although rarely, in burst shots I get perfect/blurry hunger in the same sequence of photos. The calibration of the AF I performed at home with the dock and, albeit simple to do, was not a quick thing. As pointed out by all is a heavy lens, not suitable for any circumstance. I paid a new price that I think is honest and I think I made a good purchase. A reprimand for the hood and lens cover. Sigma you could invent something different and better than the half-pipe stove protected by a curtain.

Pros: Excellent autofocus, metal construction,

Cons: Sharpness not too satisfactory, weight,

Opinion: I bought this lens together with the Canon Eos 6D Mark II, coming from a Pentax K3 + Pentax 300mm f4 lens, after the first shots on the field I have to say that as a clarity I expected more, considering the full frame .... But they are the first shots, I hope to be the problem, in the sense that I have a little '"run away" mah tant'è ... Although I performed the custom configuration with the Sigma device for this lens ... the weight penalizes him a bit ', on the other hand, the metal construction gives a feeling of strength. We will see soon what awaits me ....

Pros: quality of the material

Cons: autofocus is not working and so I did not have the pleasure to try it.

Opinion: I was disappointed and after many attempts to unblock it (100% battery, machine body change, reprogramming, firmware check, propitiatory rites against bad luck, etc etc) in the end I gave up and returned to the sender. Too bad, but after this experience I decided to move to Tamron. Reading various articles on the net it seems that for some Sigma (many ????) is a recurring problem.

Pros: Focal length, sharpness, optical quality

Cons: The weight is felt

Opinion: I state that I have always been faithful to Canon lenses, possibly L series (100/400 is usm 2, 70/200 f / 2.8, 600 f / 4). And it's a big mistake because sigma has made progress with the progress of time. To date, in my kit there are the sigma 12/24, 150/600 and 85 fixed. They are high quality optics. Regarding the super telephon in question, it is exceptionally clear and excellent color fidelity (on Canon sensor). If I compare it to 100/400 is usm 2, believe me that the money in favor of Canon are badly spent because the images produced do not justify the difference in euros! Very convenient the ability to lock the lens on any focal length, effective stabilizer, I discourage the combination with the multiplier given that the af becomes an embarrassing slowness! If used without a multiplier, autofocus remains very fast and it is not difficult to stop small subjects in flight! The only drawback is the weight that, when I go to the mountains, one feels. But it is worth buying the last penny of euro! Congratulations sigma

Pros: construction, feeling, focal range, sharpness (after microregulation) on subjects not too distant, stabilization, customization, size (if compared to the maximum focal length), purchase price (especially on used), speed af (to be a zoom)

Cons: keys and levers too small and difficult to use with gloves, tripod bracket too close to the lens that limits the use for transport only when you have bare hands (and small): impossible with winter gloves, tripod bracket too short (to balance it to 600mm on the gimball it takes an ark swiss plate that protrudes from the original bracket), speed af (especially if used without limiter)

Opinion: I'm definitely happy with the purchase, I went from the Canon 400 5.6 to this because I wanted a stabilized and tropicalized lens. The bigger size (and weight) do not weigh me, in fact: the Canon is too small to carry it on the shoulder, with a ridiculous tripod bracket to take it from there and still too heavy to carry it for hours around the neck. The Sigma I tie it to the shoulder straps of the backpack and I take it (almost) safely in the high mountains.rnUsed for hours under a blizzard at -10 ° did not show the slightest sign of slowdown af or other problems.rnAfter microregulation made by Sigma is excellent on subjects close or not far away. The loss of detail on distant subjects is quite evident.rnSome defects to be corrected (see keys and various small levers too small and tripod bracket too close to the body of the lens) but all in all is a great goal.rnrnSurely not at the level of the Canon L, but it costs much less and has much greater ranges of use. 600mm on APSC are really many.rnrnIl all used on Canon 7d Mark iirn

Pros: Pro Construction, Great Sharpness at All Focuses, Great Stabilizer, Color Rendering and Very Good AF

Cons: Minimum opening 6.3 and blurred

Opinion: I had this fantastic Zoom in for a week and used it to photograph birdlife in my area, so far I've always used a fixed optic but the latter sometimes can detect a limit, while with zoom you have many more possibilities. RnI would like that price / quality ratio this Sigma lens is really exceptional. RnPaulightness if not superior in certain situations with much more expensive optics, it has compromises obviously, it's a bit dark (f / 6.3) and blurry is not up to Nikon pro optics, but for me I'm not a Professional should be the perfect lens. I was intent on purchasing it, also considering the pro, beautiful, robust construction and weatherproofness, but reading the previous review and going to search the web I found that "RobertoOK" is not the only one who has had The zoom jam problem. I heard two friends who have more than one of themA year, one of whom told me that she is always in mountain backpacks supported here and there, she has got rain and no problems. RnI will ...? Rn

Pros: Initially I thought of a great deal of this goal, some satisfaction has given me in terms of sharpness.

Cons: Weight and zoom jam

Opinion: Those are the ones that have zoomed in. After fixing it as a guarantee I gave it to a grocery store and bought the Tamron G2. I did not find substantive differences as to clarity and I gained in Ai Servo, much more powerful than the Tamron. To the fateful phrase "I recommend you bring it in the back seat well protected otherwise it might happen again that it locks I did not hesitate a moment! I sold it! But since a target needs so much attention ... I photographed for 50 years with so many goals But I did not need any jamming assistance because of the shipping! I immediately bought a padded cushion for dogs so that I could safely transport it but apparently it did not work at all. And I demand professionalism and seriousness, I do not think to ask too much.

Pros: Sharpness, average warm colors of the lens, stabilization, af speed, construction, tropicalization

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: The super-zoom construction is solid, including the hood. Weight is partially weighed with a battery grip. The handle of the bracket is long and applying a Benro arc 150 mm swiss plate further improves transportability and is easier to find balance with dedicated heads.rn With 120-150mm plates it is possible to fix them ultrasonic through 3 dedicated screws. I firmly recommend mounting a gimbal head on a tripod. If you need to make frequent movements and adjustments along a path, I find it intelligent to use a solid monopod and a Tilt & Shift head for monopods or mono + tripods (Genesis-Photoseiki-Sirui) that mimics the movements of a gimbal but with Greater compactness and a low cost eye. Rn The purchase of the sigma dock station allows you to customize tits c1 and c2 in addition to receiving firmware upgrades and performing optical microarrays. The headset provided to protect the lens is robust, practical, and safety. However, I bought a neoprene camouflage lens-hood for a further oneBut lightweight protection that can be found in a trouser jacket. Pros: Almost total absence of chromatic aberrations, sharpness on FF, commercially rich offer (dedicated bag, belt, customizations but with the optional Dock), replaceable foot with third-party accessory compatible with the attack Arca Swiss (but Manfrotto what does?).

Cons: Heavy, bulky at 600mm, huge, 105mm filter (in front of this given one expects well other performance, for example a fixed F5), worsens significantly with CT on aps, lampshade that tends to scratch (watch not to lose the three parts of the lad, especially the waist).

Opinion: The Sigma 150-600 S is fine on FF and not multiplied. It clearly has a different physics from the 300 f4 L canon that it replaced, which at 960 mm (1.4x II on APS-C) had a thousand flaws (purple fringing, not IS, lens of 1991...) but it was light and did not resonate microvibrations. If you have to make movies the Sigmone becomes a wonderful 1920mm multiplied 2x III (canon) on Eos M (for example), or a 1800mm on A6000 (sony). At 1080p it is resolute and defined, but the micromox being recovered (manfrotto head 502 out of 546) is clearly perceptible, even if you activate the OS on tripod (which cmq serves, at 1920mm... eye to noise). It's so heavy that they had to put the block on the zoom (it doesn't have to be forced using it as a pump, ocio). Who can take a plate that exceeds the foot, if it has to maneuver it freehand, or rather replace the same foot of the ring with dedicated third-party accessory. It's a gym lens being lifted. As for carrying it around, I'd just let it go. Better the new 100-400 Canon or the 200-500 Nikon. Box seemingly gaunt, but inside is both the duffel bag and the strap. Needs the Sigma Dock (40th). It should be transported in the back seat and not in the trunk. The live view of the Eos M manages to maneuver the AF with the 2x III Canon multiplier inserted. The 1.4x III makes it incompatible on 5d3. 105mm filter that may not even be purchased on the first, except it is a PL really necessary in some cases. Currently (10-2017) I am looking with a colleague for a gimbal head that absorbs microvibrations or does not transmit them... Edit: Brought into assistance, the issue of microvibrations has almost been resolved. Shooting with a 6D, however, it is still evident that there is still an incovery of sharpness as the shots change. Sometimes it seems that the optics still breathe, especially in the configuration I was talking about (1920mm). Other times the sharpness seems to come and go in a single photo, perhaps due to the increase of ISO, as in waves. Other times, part of the image is out of focus. Probably all this is due to the heaviness of the lenses that tend to dance, I imagine, that is to have game and therefore not to stand still while shooting. You can shoot with the freehand lens, but you have to get a long plate and secure it at the base of the ring, base that is better to replace with an ergonomic for the hand. The best thing then, perfection from this point of view, is achieved by threading the large linch of the lampshade for a screw of 1/4 or 3/8 so that the "tube" does not flex and is supported externally precisely with the 35 cm plate. At that point, it becomes fantastic and fun to shoot with the 4 kg of equipment, as if it were a rifle, because you hardly get tired anymore.

Pros: Excellent focal length, fast and reactive AF, efficient stabilizer, tropicalization and construction

Cons: Weight: It is a lens for many, but not for everyone, at least when used with a free hand

Opinion: Good lens although at 600 mm it loses much of its brightness. Personally I was very disappointed with the purchase mainly because of the system's uneven weight and its unbalance on the tripod when it is at maximum focal ... it tends to be a boulder in any condition of usability humanly feasible.rn sharpness is discreet, But nothing remarkable, macrocontract is not, however, at the same level as the Nikkor 200-500 and it is known that macrocontrasto is one of the parameters to be considered when purchasing a cheap telly as this, in addition to the clarity that is more or less equivalent To that of his competing rivals. "I personally do not like the general rendering of color, too hot and slim for my taste, I dare say ... '' flat '' without brio, but it is also a matter of taste, Those who buy a similar lens do it especially for the convenience of getting up to 600 mm, not by the way .... for the other there is the great NikkOr 200-500 that throughout the focal range has a maximum af / 5.6 constant aperture and weighs 1 kg less than this brick .... of course, this has a full tropicalization and is equipped with a practical travel case Functional that the Nikkor does not have .... but when you take it in your hand and you realize that you can not keep it straight for hours and hours ... you think that you have made the wrong purchase and in all respects so It was in my case.rn I do not like the color rendering, the sharpness is just passable, the balance is poor .... it weighs like a boulder ... what else to say? I did not sincerely recommend anyone, but I did not like it at all.

Pros: Sturdy construction, tropicalized, honest Af, sharpness,

Cons: Weight, stabiliser, AF not very fast

Opinion: It's been two years now that I'm taking me to the sigmone with its enormous weight. I have used it on several occasions and now I can get a more accurate and honest view of this lens. At first I had the enthusiasm for my new purchase. Now the situation always sees me happy but with some ma... The weight in the first, which I already knew. In the long break... Also because at 600mm is unbalanced. Following free-hand subjects such as squirrels or birds is tough, not impossible but tough. After a couple of hours the arms are affected. If they are freehand and do not use times sufficently fast... The Blur arrives, especially on 7d2 that does not forgive from this point of view. On the 5div I find it more manageable and usable but it is due all to the merits of the FF SLR, which boasts an enormously larger viewfinder, not the lens. The stabilizer is not the top in my view, and does not help a lot when looking for the shot with time limit. AF side I have to say that is accurate and fast enough, even if I find it a little slow in the engagement and search of the subject. It is much faster than my 100-400l first series, but the Busca and ugly from the 100-400ii. The image quality is good, even at 600mm. A soft wire at F6, 3 but still more than good. Would I buy it back? Taking into account that in fact the 600mm are a plus not just.. And at 99% Yes, I would make the choice I made. Hello!!!

Pros: Sharpness, quality construction, AF, tripod bracket

Cons: Weight can be a problem for someone.

Opinion: Before choosing this lens I tried and I am informed on the internet for a long time also because there is dirt cheap, my question was, worth it 600 euro more than in contemporary or tamron (I live in Holland and I buy in germany so i prices are different from Italian.) after much research and seeing him live I am convinced. Decision was never more right, it is a fantastic goal, excellent quality of construction, the photos are sharp and the most important thing for me is that I'm happy to use it and I do not have second thoughts, it makes me realize that I made a good buy because they are very critical with my acquisti.rnPer me is a highly recommended purchase.

Cons: Definitely the weight, size zoom ring

Opinion: I state that I do not I do not have this perspective, I do not have other superteleobiettivi zoom and sports / wildlife is not my thing, but I've got to try this objective to a Sigma Day yesterday. The impression is of a professional viewpoint, from the construction, the lens hood (secured with a screw and not interlocking), the image quality, AF accuracy and sharpness. Excellent quality / price ratio and focal lengths covered in my opinion. On the other hand, weight is something extraordinary (hard to shoot handheld, even if for this kind of photography is obviously necessary a monopod, tripod or any kind of support); the zoom ring seems too small and hard (much better than the Contemporary version).

Pros: economic, precise, very good image quality

Cons: the weight, the ring of maf

Opinion: I write after a while I use it; only impressions about the field of course! I use it for bird life and I find really excellent from zero to 15 meters. Besides I can not judge, it is not given because even little over shooting and when shooting never throw anything buono.rnE 'a good 600mm value-priced. The use of Canon and is fine (7dII, 70D and 5dIII) .rnSulla 5dIII in my opinion is even better as dell'AF.rnDiciamo precision to 600mm has all the flaws of this focal namely reduced depth of field, need time fast shutter; but it allows you to have to crop less, thereby improving quality. Unfortunately in the shots of the birds mm are used primarily to subject little ones or very wary, amche because we often fail to make truly effective stalking to the limits of luoghi.rnIo come from the 400 mm f5.6 Canon always, beautiful! The only comparison I can make is that with the 400mm is more easy to shoot and quality "looks" better, in fact I saw that; even better because of the depth of field for the benefit of the 400mm.rnCon 600 mm have to close the iris and starting dall'f8 will have results very buoni.rnLa ring of maf is positioned at half lens and I find it a bit cumbersome, but it is subjective.

Pros: image quality, image stabilization, AF speed, construction of tank

Cons: Absurd the front lens cap in fabric, will need a cap 105mm

Opinion: I own this lens for a few days, Deputy Tamron 150-600. Constructively is spectacular, all-metal, solid, sturdy, a pleasure to observe it and have it in your hands, by a feeling of "pro". Excellent optical quality at all focal lengths, 600mm and wide open is very clear and for me, in spite of the various tests, is greater than the Tamron and it shows (engraved image more, less thick and especially with virtually no chromatic aberration) . The image stabilization is very effective when set to Dynamic (with dock usb, mandatory in my opinion), factory stabilizes less. Autofocus spectacular and even here the difference is clear as the Tamron speed and engagement decision. Fantastic customization settings C1 / C2 and the switch to limit the distance maf (which in any case you can customize the Dock). rnOttima also bracket for tripod that overturned become a convenient carrying handle. rnIl weight is definitely importanyou, why this lens advice to those who have already had to deal with superzoom lighter and therefore know how it is managed. For me when the hand held I have no particular problems thanks to the stabilization of the primacy ... of course they are not objectives to carry around all day but a few hours you tranquillamente.rnL'unico defect is, in my judgment , that 'obrobrio hood lens cap ... I'd like to talk to a Sigma engineer to explain where I put this thing when you do not, it does not fit in your pocket and not always turns with the backpack ... already we proceeded to order a cap " classic "105mm :) rnDa note is the important vignetting at full aperture, it corrects with a click so I do not consider myself a big problem. rnConsiglio given the reduced pdc these focal lengths, double-check the maf is likely that there is a need for adjustments, especially on dense sensors (I had a slight front focus on the D810). rnQuesto is the definitive telezoom, above him there are only fixed ...

Pros: Focus speed, solid construction, stabilizer, image quality, tropicalization

Cons: the weight and the zoom ring a little duretta, the screw of the non-resistant lens hood, the lens cap

Opinion: I had the 150-500mm sigma and I decided to change it, despite having done a good job anyway when called in.rnIl Sigma 150-600 is an excellent lens and after a year and a half of use, I can say with confidence that for the nature photography, but not only (I also took landscape and macro photos), is one of the medium / high-end lenses among the best. Of course it is not a fixed canvas f2.8 / f4, but given the costs of the latter you could not expect the impossible.rnTo combine with solid mono / tripod almost always, for the weight is not indifferent. I use it on Manfrotto 190xprob with Mantona gimball head and it is very stable, despite the more than 3 kg of lens and body machine.rnStrong and resistant structure, I use it in situations where mud and dust are the order of the day, but so far the lens inside is immacolata.rnAfter about a year it has been removed the screw that fixes the hood, I solved with camouflage tape that keeps it still.rnThe cap and the lens cap are not the best: the first often seems fixed, but sometimes Yesit takes away, risking to get lost; the cover lens is made of fabric and I have never used it.rnNot vote 8 ... I recommend it to those looking for a good compromise, without spending thousands of euros guaranteeing a good quality

The most important test I did in 2 matches Italy 6 nations rugby with monopod where he gave the best of themselves. If there was any mistakes were more to my inexperience and for its limits, you have to be careful how positions autofocus. However, in the second Italy-Scotland encounter, on approximately 500 shots I'll discard due no more than 10% for MF wrong, peranto completely physiological. Pros: Price, absolute solidity, effective stabilization, lens hood, as also to TA

Cons: Zoom a little hard on lens tilted down, impossible to multiply, you lose AF.

Opinion: A few shots but already appreciate all the great qualities that made me choose this beast. The weight of almost 3 kg does not scare me at all. I took a free hand to 600 mm with times ridiculous (1/125) with no trace of blur. Valuable the ability to block any focal zoom as it tends to lengthen the maximum excursion for just the tilts. Issue, even when working with the zoom ring that becomes a little too hard for my taste (you can also use it to pump but I have to get used) rnHo tried to multiply 1.4x on 6d and 7D (tricking the camera) but it gets almost impossible to focus automatically, even in bright luce.rnPer the expenditure, I would vote up

Pros: Its versatility allows a great flexibility of recovery. Handling and robustness are two key points for this tele - zoom. Construction dust-proof and water -Anti dust and anti water, exceptional. Shooting fast anytime. A fast and quiet AF. High quality results and expressiveness. Featuring round diaphragm. The 9-blade diaphragm creates a pleasant and interesting creative blur (bokeh) in public out of focus.

Cons: Weight. Weighing less than 3 kg, this is a heavy beast, and some kind of support is recommended if you use the lens for long periods of time.

Opinion: I buy back again. Sigma is billing as a zoom without compromise. It 'a great telephoto that is able to capture a lot of details, which is key for shots of wildlife. The focus is very rapid with all three bodies with advice to use the limiter, and the center point. I did not need to make fine adjustments with no body and I found that the optical output from Sigma is perfectly set. Problems I found instead with the 5D MKII, the image is underexposed by almost 1.5 stops and the colors are a bit dull, these probably due to compatibility issues between firmware "ancient" 5d and the new Sigma lenses, something that does not occur with the other bodies newer. The only real but is against the weight, with the hood weighs over 3.3kg, perfect for use in the cabin and on the stand but rarely suitable for hunting touring.

Opinion: 339; crisp zoom pushed I've ever tried .. when compared with super telephoto 10 thousand Cucuzza loses a little something .. ok. (But do not always see) .. but clearly wins against various trade .. ..in telezoom including new rn80 400vr ii .. nikon ... that does not compare with Sigmone .. rnInutile.dire who wins hands low with previous 500rn 150 ... 50 500 ... .. short promosso..ma if you go back would take the C version ... the "S ..." forces you to a monopod .. rnavendo already 'the 500f4vr ... would like a 'species x optical piu'leggera travel ... RNLA version "c" .. 1 kg less ..but not having tried I not know if the same is optically livello.quindi advice to try them both before deciding rn .. !!

Pros: price and quality 'construction lens and weather sealing, fast AF

Cons: weight, lens cap fabric and small screw hood latch weak and insufficient

Opinion: For someone like me, not only photographing birds, for example in the high mountains is very heavy and difficult to maneggiare.Mi wonder why sigma has not built the lens hood screw (as I understand it quite normal) but it has equipped with a catch ridiculous represented by a very small screw precaria.rnUtilizzato freehand, without monopod and using the stabilizer is good even at maximum zoom range.

Pros: Construction, quality, sharpness, fast AF, big excursion focal

Cons: Weight

Opinion: Just bought I tried to do the close-ups and has proved magnificent, at maximum excursion weight is felt but after a while you use it and we do the hand and becomes slightly heavier than a common telephoto. I am very happy with the purchase, highly recommended for bird watchers.

Pros: big excursion Focal, a bit 'dark, but if taken during the day is not a big problem with the modern reflex that manage very well the iso.

Cons: Absolutely not recommended for sports. rnVelocità autofocus too slow, almost one second. Good for static subjects and basta.rn

Opinion: The rapid reduction in price (it is just over 1000EUR) would shout all'affare.rnLa price reduction is caused by the slowness of the HSM system that reduces the range of use. Council on 70-200 (also is not) to match with the multiplier has an Af lightning with the 2x.rnNon suitable for use professionale.rn

Pros: Construction, sharpness to ta, zoom in and pump ring, fast AF.

Cons: Weight.

Opinion: I bought this zoom after doing tests to compare my inseparable Pompone canon, and I must say that already at full aperture at maximum focal sigmone the result is more crisp and a bit more contrasted with a very natural color rendering (with 200 mm more !!) af more quickly and quietly without slipping vacuum in hand by the feeling of having a fixed canon tele .... Full metal construction and tropical conditions ... I tried anke but the Tamron and comparable to the version c of sigmone.rnrndirei quietly that at the time there better than this with a zoom 600 mm well below 2000 euro ....

Pros: Everything except the weight ..

Cons: Weight

Opinion: just taken and immediately tested with close-up shots, fabulous .. I also tried to multiply it with a Nikon TC17 (modified) unfortunately is not compatible and the maf do manually, what I think a test with Sigma converter will do the detail is always very valido.rnil weight is felt, for handheld shooting is fine, but for a short time! monopod or tripod serve !!

Pros: Overall quality, materials, sharpness, color, AF, OS ... and much more ...

Cons: Weight (only for untrained)

Opinion: Finally got my Sigma ... I was torn between this Tamron and Sigma 150/600 ... well I would say that they are very satisfied for now, I use it on a D700 FX for two days only, but already it is love at first sight ... as had essere.rnSolo pro for now, not a professional but an amateur very demanding on sharpness, color, AF, focus ... everything perfectly for now with this Sigma. Really I do not find defects, the weight is considerable but consequent extreme quality of this goal, if you are trained no problem! RnProssimamente will post some shots ... but I must say that I found what I was looking for !!!

Pros: Quality even at TA, Tropicalisation, USB Dock, Solidity

Cons: Weight

Opinion: I come from Tamron 150-600, compared to the latter has superior sharpness in TA while f / 8 onwards are equal, especially using the Autofocus absolutely superior limitatore.Obbiettivo heavier, a little limited use freehand but end it succeeds, excellent ability to update firmware and customization via USB dock ... To date, the use of D750 and D7100 and I am very well, to me the cap does not mind:-)

Pros: excellent construction, quality of image, the lens hood is not plastic, Af precise and fast, excellent the custom option with the USB dock, weather sealed perfectly (I took in pouring rain with no problem)

Cons: a little 'weighs, the system is not fast os ie it takes 1 second to put affixed shooting

Opinion: From the few tests that I could do these days I have to say that sigma is doing excellent optics, this telephoto zoom is really the perfect lens for those who practice sports or nature photography. I also Nikon AF-S 500mm F4 DII which is heavier but the AF is faster but less flexible to be able to carry around without a tripod. I would say that they are happy with the purchase and I will test soon in the sport and will let you know how it behaves with the AF.

Pros: solid build quality and value, image quality, precision AF, weather sealing, customizable through the dock, price.

Cons: Weight marked. When you put the hood in reverse to place the lens in your backpack or bag is almost impossible not to rub the metal parts of the collar and the barrel of the lens hood stesso..alla long in my opinion could blow away the paint.

Opinion: - Overall build quality of the lens, I find it outstanding in every point of view, solid, well finished, with quality materials, even the finishing of the barrel that does not leave fingerprints on the black paint. rn- precision and AF speed limiters maf really pratici.rn- image quality, to give you a reference, quality (for my small experience) is similar and comparable to that of the 400 f5.6 + TC1. 4 III with the advantage in favor of the Sigma that the same focal length and aperture (to be precise the sigma 40mm more) has a more pronounced blurred. rn- weight of the lens very marked, for my arms using freehand me a little 'crowded out ... in the sense that the weight feels very much, but thanks to the help stabilizer is tangible! I took sharp pictures to a 1/50 of a second in the range 400-600 mm !!!

Pros: Versatility, image quality, weather sealing, price, customizable dock sigma, solid construction.

Cons: Weight, ridiculous cap for those who like me carry in the mountains.

Opinion: After two weeks of use on D800 idea I have done and it is more than excellent! By chance I did not take the Tamron in August and after a couple of months has been announced this gem that for the moment has complied with all its promises! The only downside is if it can be defined on the portability, weight definitely affects the fatigue at the end of the day and in some cases makes it difficult to shoot by hand. The cork fabric then, is a poor choice for use in nature while hiking. For the rest I am able to safely recommend it to those who, like me, want to get close to this magnificent area without spending big bucks!
