Pros: Sharpness, price

Cons: distortion

Opinion: For my taste it is an excellent lens, used for a few years has given me great satisfaction. If you want a wide angle pushed at an affordable price it seems difficult to opt for anything else. Really good sharpness and image quality. Vignetting and distortion are easily corrected through the slow profiles present in the software. Advised

Pros: construction

Cons: Everything else in particular focus (inaccurate)

Opinion: I used the reflex version on Z6. It is true that to use certain extreme goals you need an experienced hand, which I do not have, but I do not really understand the positive reviews. I did not appreciate any of this objective. I tried 3 different specimens, 2 with the red ring one with golden ring and found them both mediocre. In my opinion, it makes no sense to spend 200-250eur on such a goal. From a few days to the same figure I took the 16mm of nikon and it is spectacular.

Pros: Very good wide angle at optical level, good sharpness, price without a doubt, opening

Cons: Vignetting and light but correctable distortion, incongruity of the focus indications with reality (the real infinity is about 3 meters written on the ring)

Opinion: Forklift optics suitable for those who want a super wide angle, almost fisheye at a low price but with a good yield. The focus ring is not calibrated well, it is out of phase, the real infinity was where it was written 3 meters. The optics are of quality, the glasses are very precise. For the cost you can not consider defects those listed above and in my opinion they are all there! I sold it for the Sigma 14-24mm with the same opening. Obviously between Sigma and Sammy sigma wins hands down, but let's talk about optics that cost almost 5 times as much ? The extremely low price is given by the absence of electronics absolutely, but for such a focal point it is not a problem. With closed diaphragms (Above the 8) it begins to lose detail but still usable up to 16. I used it in canon version with SIGMA MC-11 adapter on the Sony Alpha 7 II and it was fine.

Pros: Great extreme angle, construction.

Cons: Edges, vignetting, MF only.

Opinion: It is a good lens suitable for those who want to learn how to use these types of extreme focal points. The construction for me is very solid, comparable to the Nikon 20-35 af-d I owned. The ring for the focus is very demultiplied, allows precise fire, is hard and the resistance always pleasant and constant. At f2.8 the edges are obscene, so they must be "hidden" in the composition, so that they do not stand out. In addition, at full opening there is a very pronounced vignette that I sometimes use voluntarily to enclose a certain type of landscape in a natural way. In the center the image is always admissible, at the intermediate diaphragms it is really good. The problem is that the edges do not improve by closing the diaphragm, they are always very scarce. After a few months I realized that it's not the lens for me.

Pros: Focal, robustness, size, price, brightness, indispensable in many situations

Cons: The only one really relevant: impossibility of mounting screw filters

Opinion: After the Canon 100mm Macro, I think that's the lens I love the most. Given the brightness and the focal point, it is used in many situations. If you then add a little creativity you can bring out really unique shots. Of course, accustomed to all recent automatisms, a beginner can give some difficulty to focusing only manual, but life has more difficult challenges from! For the price it is to be had. The biggest flaw is the impossibility of mounting standard filters in case you want to make some long exposure during the day. The distortion is there (it would be strange if it wasn't at 14mm) and it doesn't have to be a flaw, but it has to be managed. Suitable for wide-field astrophotography, landscape, street and interior. At this price I do not think there is anything like it. If you have any doubts, scroll through this page and look at the photos taken with this lens. Not bad eh!

Pros: 14, price, opening, sharpness in the middle

Cons: distortion, yield to edges, focus

Opinion: I had the 10 on aps-c and decided to buy this optics, the overall yield is not bad (colors, flare tightness, sharpness in the center), but bad there is distortion with very stretched and not particularly sharp edges, a perhaps more accentuated curvature that make focus more difficult (more than I thought) at a constructive level seems very solid anyway.

Pros: Price, lightness

Cons: Borders, Focus

Opinion: Taking into account the price the rating can not be too low, it is a great "school ship" for those who venture into the world of super-wide, all open has not too good edges while making more or less consistently well in the center, at all openings. From f5.6 onwards it starts to improve on the edges but not significantly. The distortion is very pronounced, but at this price one can expect it. The construction is good in my opinion, it looks very solid. To improve the metric scale on the barrel: working in hyperfocal using only metric references is almost impossible, you have to resort to the machine's viewfinder/screen to know the exact distance (always if the machine on which you mount it supports it)

Pros: Price, sharpness already from f4,wide-field astronomy

Cons: Distortion, inability to mount circular screw filters, some models do not come out of the factory just as they should ,fixed plastic lamp in my opinion not too resistant, size for sony E

Opinion: Used for more than one harvest, I've tested it in a variety of situations including, mountain, astronomy, urban night wildscape nights, there's little to say for what it costs offers a truly appreciable snap experience. I immediately want to start from a very large defect that afflicts this lens, or rather some lenses, unfortunately one of the most well-known problems of the samyang 14mm not AF is just the dial of the focus, unfortunately some models come out of the factory with the dislodle, therefore maybe you are on the focus at 3m but at the actual maybe you are at 7m this makes for obvious reasons difficult if not impossible to use hyperfocale. There is a method to fix this problem more tough easy, removing the rubber above the dial and unscrewing a small screw we can bring back at the end of the race the dial, but honestly I do not think that this is a real solution, because anyway from the feeling that I had the focus were not reliable for hyperfocal, and the infinity was well beyond the infinite symbol. You understand that for a totally manual lens, not having a reliable distance scale is not one of the most practical and comfortable things especially since it is a lens that requires hyperfocal, since for its opening you will still take portions of background very close to you. Reluctantly I had to return it and decided to move to a totally different perspective. For everything else for what it offers and for what are performance I do not think in the FF market there is anything better on this focal renge in relation to quality and price. The best of itself gives it on the new summer moon nights, to photograph the milky way, it is really formidable, it seems made for this very reason, manages to perfectly pull out the shades of the core, beautiful vivid and appreciable,it is very sharp, and if you are equipped with astro tracker just close to f4 and enjoy, at this opening the COMA and the astigmatism are greatly reduced and you buy a good sharpness even at the edges. I mentioned the distortion in the cons of the lens, but honestly I think that if you do not want the distortion you do not take a 14mm regardless, I personally appreciate the wide-angle distortion, and I hate to have to fix it perfectly on PS because at the end of correction goes from if that we will have a very croppathed file and if I photograph at 14mm it is precisely because the angle of the field is what I like and what I wanted, if I wanted a less pushed corner of the field I would take a 20 or a 24mm. The lampshade for obvious reasons is fixed, but honestly I do not understand why put a fixed plastic lampshade of quite dubious quality, you have to be very careful not to break it otherwise you lose the ability to plug the lens depending on how it breaks, you lose the protection it offers to the spherical lens in front and of course you take the worst side reflections. Small precisely for the sony version are the dimensions, practically we have the size of the lens canon/nikon version with the addition of an adapter embedded in the lens, which makes it several centimeters longer and even a little more weighted.

Pros: Very bright, sharpness in the center always good (from f/5.6 even at the edges), affordable price, smooth and precise focus dial

Cons: At full opening the edges are not the maximum, obvious distortion and not always correctable with ease, bulky lampshade, voluminous cap

Opinion: I took it essentially to photograph the sky (milky way) and the stars, but it also behaves well in other situations. The maximum opening f/2.8 makes it possible to shoot even with little light without having to raise the ISOs too much, while if the light is good just set a diaphragm f/8, put in hyperfocal and you can forget the focus ring. It is fluid and well-fried, and with the distance scale much more precise than other objectives of the same brand that I own. Using it practically only on full-frame (Pentax), I can count on a huge field angle but that requires attention, because including unwanted details is a moment, so watch out for the edges when you shoot. Even the bubble put is important, penalty very flashy drooping lines. The sharpness in the center is always good while the entire opening the edges are not at the top, they improve a lot of diaphragm and already at f/5.6 you can count on a very good sharpness on the whole frame, and excellent in the center. On the other side the distortion is quite noticeable, and rather difficult to correct completely, so I do not recommend this lens for architectural photos or where it is essential to have perfectly straight lines. One last note is about the dimensions, which are quite important, that combined with the fixed lampshade and the voluminous cap (and poor quality) mean that to store the camera with the grafted lens it takes a lot of space. However, considering the features the price is affordable and if you need a wide angle pushed it is worth having it in the kit, also because the alternatives for Pentax are very limited and cost double or triple, if not more. Vote 8

Pros: Good sharpness already in T.A; from f. 4 onwards a blade! Compact and solid. Cost.

Cons: Plasticosis cap and lamp plug;

Opinion: As far as I'm concerned, that's a very good goal. Fantastic sharpness; holds the backlight well (very little flar) when used at f. 8 practically no matter focusing. I read reviews that are opposite to mine and, while I do not question them at all, they do not agree with what I have experienced on the field. The only sensible answer I can give is that Samyang, as far as this lens is concerned, does not have a uniformity of production. Mine, used on F.F and APSH, give the same results when it comes to sharpness at both edges and center. The focus ring is perfect; too fluid or too little; it's a good feeling in use. I posted in my gallery "Padule" a shot made with EOS 1D Mark IV and I can say that not even the 16/35 f. 2.8 Canon Series I has ever given me similar results. Let me make it clear that I don't think it's the best wide angle around, but at the €180.00 I've been awarded it, I don't think it's a problem if someone tells me that the zeiss pari focale has a few more lines of resolution! if I have to make a lapidary judgment: EXCELLENT! UPDATED as of 17 Jan 2021. I posted in my gallery "Confirmation of Lele" a very banal shot, only for the purpose of pointing out the quality of the lens and how it behaves in very normal work situations. The shooting parameters are found at the bottom of the photo itself and I guarantee the authenticity of the shot. (no crop or processing, no correction of any kind). In my humble opinion his behavior is to be considered excellent and does not disfigure compared to Canon and Sigma ART lenses that I own and much more expensive and famous than this one. This is just to be honest and correct in the information we bring to this forum. Not that I don't believe in the honesty of those who call it "Bottle Bottom", (they probably stumbled upon a wretched copy), but this does not detract from the fact that in general the Samsung 14 mm. f. 2.8 is an excellent wide angle, also in relation to its cost.

Pros: Weight, price, 14mm, sharpness, break difficulty, f/2.8 opening

Cons: manual focus, faulty models

Opinion: Let's assume that at this price it is impossible to find better, we talk about 200 euros on the used and little more on the new (on Amazon it came to 280 euros). Paired with the D750, it seems to have a mirrorless in hand due to weight and compactness. It has virtually no internal mechanics, so it hardly will leave you on foot, you talk about manual focus, but just put it to infinity and that's it. Some models unfortunately do not have the precise reference scale and therefore need to calibrate it (see on Youtube). In my opinion it is very sharp if it closes at f/8 of course, I am particularly pleased with this goal. Now I also have the Z6 and I would have liked to try its namesake in Z version, but they speak bad about it. Honestly, anyone who talks about bottle bottoms is better off changing hobbies.

Pros: Field corner

Cons: Sharpness, construction, painful corners always

Opinion: I did not claim to have a Zeiss lens in my hand, but not even a bottle bottom which proved to be an examination. Maybe after thirty years of photography I found the crartiest optics I could ever buy and I didn't always have optics from the big blazon. I cannot understand certain reviews that exalt the sharpness that I have not found in my specimen, perhaps suffering from serious centering problems, since the bottom corners could never be of a decent quality, the plastic of the lampshade, as that of the cap is of poor quality and be careful not to solicit them because they break easily. The focus ring, in my specimen, in addition to presenting the classic staring complained by the most, had a game that if you changed the direction of focus to or to infinity had a void of movement. However painful experience that I thought could not happen since with the 8mm of the same manufacturer at the time of the aps-c had greatly amused me, despite its limitations. I don't give any votes because I'd need the negative numbers. Returned as the plague.

Pros: Detail, robustness, construction, versatility, quality of materials, for the micro four-thirds is perfect (in other formats does not give these results) 14mm (28mm per MFT)

Cons: filter adapters sold separately

Opinion: Great lens bought at a real bargain price new, less than 200 euros. Great for landscape photography and not but I think the most makes it in the videos. The focus dial is fabulous when shooting videos, in fact for a videomaker this is essential to give an artistic touch to the shoot. What to say..., it's not a leic but it's not even a Chinese... He does his job very well if not perfectly, and I think it's the right compromise for a pro photographer and not that he doesn't want to faint but bring home an optimal result. my judgment is 8.8 out of 10. I have other lenses like the 12-60 leica or the 14-45 lumix or the 25mm f1.7 but believe me that this optics in the videos find its right place. Amazing, at f2.8 infinite fire is almost all in focus... really useful for shooting with steadycam or gimbal.

Pros: Cost,weight

Cons: All

Opinion: Embarrassing lens ,held about 2 months,I can not understand all the good reviews that received ,not sharp even closing at f10,quality poor/discreet image, paralysed impossible to remove, construction from pure Chineseria, honestly I thought to make a nice purchase also and because of the cost but the overall quality really disappointed me almost on every aspect, absolutely the worst lens I have ever tried,if you look for something similar rather go on the use!

Pros: Price of the used, sharpness, good construction.

Cons: Distortion difficult to fix on FF and very annoying in the interior. On APS, of course, distortion is more manageable.

Opinion: Good lens for those who need a cheap wide-angle and excellent workmanship and yield. Personally I took it to use it via adapter on APS where, although there is a slow profile in Camera Raw you still need to fix by hand some residual distortion. Just taking photos of architecture and interiors is very frustrating to waste time in this way for every single shot. Landscapers will have no problem with this. The focus on APS even if only manual is very simple... from 5.6/8 is pretty much all in focus. The sharpness already from f5.6 is great up to the edges (always on APS). My Fuji XF EF grafting adapter also has the SHIFT function on the two axes but stitching, while achievable, is practically unusable due to the distortions above.

Pros: Full Frame Compatible, Focal Length, Brightness

Cons: Sharpness at the corners on Full Frame, fixed lampshade, not for everyone

Opinion: I'm actually using the Cine version of this optics that is in all respects equal to the photographic one with the only difference of having the toothed gapps, that of the opening "decliccated" and the greater fire race. By its nature this optics introduces the distortions that are expected but easy to correct in post-production. Better to use this optics on machines with APS-C or Super 35mm sensors because on Full Frame it shows a marked loss of sharpness and detail at the edges associated with the type of elliptical optics that makes you lose focus right in those places. The mechanics are well made and the lampshade is fixed and not removable robust but if it breaks for some reason you will be forced to change the entire body of the lens (so treat it well this lens). All the talk about the use of ND filters and so on you have to accept it and know before the purchase as well as you have to have clear ideas about its use. It is unlikely that it will not be the optics that you will use the most, indeed, but when used intelligently and sparingly it is definitely a focal and related type of constructive appropriate and targeted.

Pros: crisp, 2.8, cheap, rather well built from the point of view of solidity, fun to use, light.

Cons: the MAF's dial is slightly stared

Opinion: after the dial of the MAF a little stared (the MAF is "in advance" as a real distance compared to the one that brings the scale back to the barrel) for the rest I find only merits. If you focus calmly with the magnification in live view, there is no way to go wrong and the sharpness is enough even to f2.8 (it is clear that it can not be on all the diaphragm, who expected this result at TA made the wrong purchase). A f4 is already globally great, from f5.6 to f11 is outstanding (on 26Mpx at least). Besides, there is a bit of physiological diffraction, but it is still optically excellent. I find it well built despite considering the price, the lampshade is plastic but it is embedded and in my opinion adequately protects the flashy, protruding and otherwise very exposed outer glass, which makes so much figure with its accentuated sphthicivity but must be Protected. The cap is also plastic but fits well and does not detach. The lens contains a good amount of glass, you feel, and the metal parts increase a feeling of solidity that I found in lenses even of higher price, build quality that you would not expect in a cheap lens - and this, from the mere point of view price, it is. The whisp distortion is not even imention, too easy to correct with even cheap programs (PTLens) or even free (GimpLensFun plugin on Gimp 32-bit). In fact, in all honesty, I also happened to take more excited "familiar" shots with the children running, sealing in LV freehand, and I still found myself quite at ease pulling out some great shots: in fact with the diaphragm closed if you turn the dial in a reasonable circle of the distance to which the subjects are located you are sure that they will be in focus in a way that goes from perfect to acceptable, thanks to the high pdc given by the large framed area. Final grade: 9 (only for the starry dial)

Pros: Price

Cons: Little sharpness

Opinion: I bought it because of the price last year, because I wasn't a photography expert yet. Using it I found little sharpness in night photography (Milky Way, Aurora Borealis, etc). Perhaps better the next version (Samyang XP 14mm f/2.4). Satisfied with the price and slightly satisfied with the product.

Pros: Price

Cons: Little sharpness

Opinion: I bought this lens on Saturday 8/6/2019 I brought it back to the shopkeeper Tuesday 11/6/2019 (who kindly resumed it without problems) after doing a dozen test shots, I could see that my expectations were greater, cheap is true. In order to use the filters it is necessary to assemble a bulky holder and the relative filters cost much more than screw filters. I will have been unlucky because reading the various reviews, the majority are satisfied.

Pros: Excellent yield with a very low priced construction accurate and robust

Cons: Heavy and cumbersome, especially my version (Sony and mount) that pays the increase in weight and size due to adaptation from Reflex (native) to ML

Opinion: Lens taken on Amazon Warehouse and paid about half the normal price, 5 year Fowa warranty and pretty much perfect. The yield a little "moscia" at full aperture already improves to 4 and 5.6 is excellent. The "whisker" distortion is quite flashy but correctable in a moment in PP, however it can be annoying only in architecture, but you notice little or nothing in panoramas and street. The focus is not easy because given the focal length very short, it always looks all in focus, so you have to work at aperture all open, helping with peakng focus and magnification and go back and forth looking for the maximum sharpness point. The focus is not calibrated perfectly, in my case the distant subjects go to kelp enough before the infinity, it is not serious, it would be much worse the opposite. I am undecided whether to keep it so, in the end, given the enormous depth of field, it is not so important to fix it, calibrate it from me, since I found a tutorial on the net, but risking to invalidate the warranty, or send it in Fowa. However it is a very nice, creative, good performance and well done object.

Pros: The Price and the lightness

Cons: Little Flare sharpness at 2.8

Opinion: I tried this lens and I can say that the difference with the 14-24 Nikkkor to 14 mm is abysmal both at full aperture and in the intermediate diaphragms, starts to be acceptable from 5.6 onwards, it will be a bad copy but all this decated sharpness I have not seen Just and the price is confirmation, I saw a test later I do not remember in which site and my opinion was not wrong.

Pros: Q-P ratio, weight, sharpness, brightness, lightness

Cons: Use of filters, some flare in backlight.

Opinion: Perfect optics for my amateur needs, mounted on FF. I really like the rendering of the images, I find it precise and sharp. Obviously the sharpness drops to the edges, but for the views that shot is not a problem at all. Simple the management of the focus in manual, you often work in hyperfocal, solving a good part of the problems. Light, it's easy to use. Integrated lens hood, which prevents you from mounting the filters without an adapter, even if you personally do not use them. Optics recommended without any doubt.

Pros: general product quality, sharpness, materials, lightness, price.

Cons: Analyzing the product, Nesuno.

Opinion: I think it's one of the best fixed-focal wide-angle product. True, it has manual focus, but you choose it for that, otherwise you would opt for something else. It's very precise and crisp, and if you shoot the manual once you've learned how to handle manual focus, it's a lot of fun. Excellent and almost unparalleled to photograph panoramas from having to include as much as possible in the scene... to photograph sunsets and above all gives the best of SE to photograph the stars without having to resort to PP.

Pros: Sharpness, price, weight, footprint

Cons: Lens cap, distortion

Opinion: I'm not an expert on ultra wide optics, I owned before this the 10-18 EF-S, but I was a little hesitant towards this lens, not so much for the sharpness but for practical use being MF. I changed my mind right away, the focus is really simple given the great PDC that has. The sharpness is very good also to TA, light, practical and small. The lens cap is big and plastic not very good. On the 5D3 works "almost" looks like well, only a few times the exposure meter had problems subjing, which among other things the 5d3 tends to have in general.

Pros: Price and image quality

Cons: Assembly and materials used (lens hood), distortion

Opinion: It is an excellent value for money, accessible also for fans. It is not a little thing in an area where the quality you pay and much. Just see the photos taken in the forum to understand the potential of this lens. The lens profiles for distortion correction (Adobe LR version 5) are not easily available and installable but are indispensable in post. For a first approach to the "Wide" World on FF is a valid purchase.

Pros: F/2.8 diaphragm, sharpness, price, lightness

Cons: Manual focus, aberration, inability to put filters except with adapter

Opinion: Lens recommended if you are not afraid to use manual focus, distortion and aberration you can safely correct in PP, for what it costs is one of the best products in circulation, also counting the fact that does not lose much of value On the used, the one that fails more is the impossibility to put the filters directly on the lens, since it has the built-in hood

Pros: Sharpness, price, colors.

Cons: The filters...

Opinion: I know the Samyang optics, I also use them in Fuji with extreme satisfaction, have very affordable costs and return really good images. So switched to Sony, I decided again to buy one, I needed an ultra-bright corner for night photos, the choice fell on this 14mm. I'm very happy, I appreciate the sharpness and colors that returns, I own it for a very short time but I'm sure I will not have to change my positive review.

Pros: Price, sharpness, 14mm, brightness, weight

Cons: Distortion, but negligible for my kind of photo

Opinion: I bought the lens in question from about 5/6 months, photographing landscapes only I thought of taking a super wide light to take me in the photographic excursions along with the rest of the equipment, on FF 14mm are really many, and it is not easy to compose Well because there really is a lot of stuff, I don't use it very much to be honest. However it is a very good lens, for Nikon costs just over 300euro, excellent sharpness, well done, I am fully satisfied

Pros: Yield in the landscape, value for money

Cons: Unusable distortion in architecture, but well correctable in post and in sticking

Opinion: I just want to highlight how the distortion, which sometimes is also nice, is excellently corrected using the sticking of 2-3 shots. In fact also applying the corrective profiles the images appear very distorted at the edges with a sort of central crush and an exaltation of the height at the sides. The procedure I performed is to open the raw in Dxophoto lab that corrects the geometry, then converted to TIFF do the sticking with the Windows Image Composite Editor (which is free), which I think does a great job and maybe better than Photoshop. In this way you will have much more natural images. It may be that it is necessary to first combine the shots to groups of two in order to facilitate the overlap. My specimen is equipped with electronic recognition and is perhaps lucky, but with the d800 you get considerable details even at the edges to F8,

Pros: Cost, colors, angle of field,

Cons: TA sharpness, in my caps that are not in their place

Opinion: Great wide angle that offers interesting cues. Used on tripod with closed diaphragm gives some beautiful shots. It allowed me to photograph starry skies and suggestive landscapes, achieving pleasant results. All the controls: Focus and aperture are accurate, the build quality is certainly not excellent but not negative. I do not find the fixed lens hood annoying, the lens is not at all long (personal opinion). Unrivaled if I think I paid 190 euros. Recommended!

For those who complain about the non presence of autofocus advice to anyone who makes a problem before buying not even think about it! It is not a problem (there are dozens and dozens of pages on the topic for which I do not repeat) on the 5d Mk2 I return images that I am very satisfied; I shoot in raw and do not feel special needs to post indeed! I like the colors, the details, the sharpness, as I bring back the skies, I really like the shadows, I do not even feel the need to resort to the profile correction with Lightroom I like the sense of original three-dimensionality. For the way I see it advice. New

Pros: angle of view, f 2.8, colors

Cons: sharpness at room temperature, fixed lens hood, filter system

Opinion: I took the yellow line version recently and luckily my copy has no problems of mismatch ring maf (easily fixed anyway). It was equipped with a filter system samyang. I have enjoyed in the past, the pros and cons of this lens. I use it mainly for night shots where you notice the shortcomings:-imprecise borders at least up to f 5.6-poor sharpness at room temperature the flaws a little thin if you use on apsc f 5.6 becomes instead a blade, ideal for landscapes in spite of the distortion in the but (correctable through the lens profiles) I still feel to recommend it for value for money

Pros: Nobody

Cons: Sharpness. Quality, distortion, vignetting, poor materials, etc etc etc.

Opinion: In light of the new experience I want to update my previous review is the second I buy because, according to the reviews on the various forums and even on Amazon I was convinced that the first was a defective copy, so I decided to buy it back from Amazon for Have the opportunity to return it, in fact it was so, the second copy to a first impact was definitely better but still far from the comments excited by other users, however, remains a loss of sharpness at the edges increasingly marked on the left side ( Defect common to both specimens) the perspective distortions are embarrassing, an object of circular shape even if framed in the center of the image is returned ovoid, even framing with all the precautions, the left side of the frame is Be more and more distorted than the right side, so if you are interested in photos of interiors and not only of effect, you will encounter insurmountable problems. As already mentioned by some, few, users believe it broke out the fashion Samyang, I understand that spending about €330 you can not expect much but do not forget that we are talking about a lens without autofocus and stabilization made with materials Questionable (see Hood and its cap made of very fragile plastic) so at this point it seems to me that the value for money is so favorable. I Believe that fame is mainly due to the comments made by the photographers of panoramas and astrology that, rightly, are satisfied with the impact that can be achieved with this type of optics, but if you move just a little ' from that terrain you will have as happened to Me of the scording disappointment, I had chosen this lens to photograph for professional reasons (I deal with restoration of works of art) in cramped interiors: painted images, statues, architectural elements etc. But many particulars were returned with forms Completely distorted and impossible to correct in PP. Use for over 35 years optics Nikon, Hasselblad, Zeis, Pentax, Zenza Bronica, and even some Sigma and I have never had problems with defective specimens, so if on 2 specimens one is definitely defective, the other and so-so, it means that the quality control Samyang It's really poor. However, if you settle for a glass just to have fun without many claims despite the difficulties in usability at a price "fairly" affordable choose it as well, but if you are interested in having photos of decent quality with full frame cameras and with sensors Demanding and you do not care to immortate exclusively, for the billionth time, the Milky Way or the sunset on the shoreline, and I say without wanting to denigrate those who do this kind of photos indeed I saw many shots where there were obtained valuable results Stylistically that technically but this is due to the talent of photographers and not to the medium that has allowed to reach them, I advise you to stay away. For Now I can only reiterate my scorpable disappointment, mainly due to the comments of all those who helped to create this false myth of quality, without a more thorough analysis. If you still are interested in the purchase I suggest you turn to services like Amazon that will allow you to evaluate your real needs, if you'll be satisfied you will keep, otherwise you can return as I did.

Pros: Price, weight, dimensions, sharpness and maf

Cons: Fixed hood, filter assembly

Opinion: I have been very satisfied with this lens for about 2 years, always mounted on D610, used only for landscape and night photography. Nice the sunburst that is obtained, holds well against the light. Returns crisp images and distortion is easily corrected in PP. I think the manual focus is its strong point in night photography, where a wider range of adjustment (compared to auto focus lenses) facilitates the correct focus to infinity. Weight and compactness make this lens a comfortable companion on excursions.

Pros: Price in relation to focal length and brightness, sharpness and solidity

Cons: no possibility of using filters, quite cumbersome given the fixed lens hood

Opinion: Objective challenging given the focal length, I have used it at 200 euros, and I think it is an appropriate price, the lack of autofocus is not heard for 2 reasons, 1) often presents the whole frame in focus also thanks to the use of hyperfocal, 2) is one of those focal points not pointed and snaps, or to steal some shots in the street, is a focal to be used for alpi spaces, then inevitably need to think about shooting, the composition, and therefore the fact that both manual focus does not give problems! It has a definition that has stunned me, and a corner of the field that you do not expect, can hold up well against the light. As soon as I have the opportunity I'll try this lens for some night photos in the mountains, we'll see that it will come out! Lens suitable for those who are creative with focal lengths of this type (for me it is not really in my ropes, but I wanted to experiment), and those who love to make complex landscape photos, unfortunately the lens requires the use of holders and square filters that cost a figure (sometimes also pmore than the lens itself), thus limiting the possibility of using the lens (for example I would like to shoot with an ND filter ...). That said I keep this lens tight, but I'm throwing an eye to lenses that allow the use of filters like the 20mm 1.8 nikon! Which, although it costs a lot more in my opinion, is a more flexible lens!

Pros: Nobody

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I still do not have this lens although I intend to buy it as soon as possible and therefore I can not say anything. However, I was struck by the insistent reference to a lack of tropicalization of the lens that, unlike normal and canvas, "appears" is particularly exposed to moisture and dust. In reality, with relatively little expense and a minimum of manual skill, you can tropicalize any machine or lens much better than the manufacturer can do: just use the new anti-humidity and anti-dust nanomolecular insulation designed for electronic and electrical circuits. Because they not only prevent the entry of dust, water and humidity, but expel that already present and protects against oxidation and corrosion. They are used for marine and submarine electronic equipment: if you sprinkle with great care (it is small spray cans ) the points of the machine and / or objectives (but also because of mobile phones) not only improves steadilythe electric contact, but you can safely work in the rain and snow without problems. The really good products (a d800 I fell in the water and remained there for several tens of seconds coming out intact and working without even need for anchovy) cost a bit ', but certainly less so many hurricanes that serve to raise prices.

Pros: Price, sharpness and construction

Cons: For the price none

Opinion: Purchased for 299 euros new with 5 years warranty, the use above all for internal photos of properties and then upload to various real estate advertising sites, and I find it perfect. There is distortion but easily corrected in post. It communicates perfectly with my nikon d610. The focus is manual but already from f8 is practically everything in focus. Highly recommended for views but also for interior photography. Excellent alternative to official wide angles without spending a fortune. rating 9.5

Pros: Sharpness, depth of field, "three-dimensional" image, construction, economical, bright

Cons: Light distortion on APS-C Sony 1.5X crop-factor

Opinion: I bought this used lens in perfect condition at a very attractive price. Initially I was concerned that it was completely manual and that the model for Sony A did not have any electrical contacts to communicate with the camera (so no F-stop reading). Actually, once you understand the behavior, it has proven to be easy to use and to have properly displayed images I must generally consider overexposing +1 EV. Given the type of lens, for the time being mainly in hyperfocal, so focusing is not a problem, though it has also tried to use it creatively by being able to focus on a subject with less than 1m diaphragm about F4 or 5. Very good, vivid and full colors, some photos I just took recently made me really happy in this regard. I also find that the sharpness is really great. is a bright and well-balanced contrast lens, I did not need to change photos I recently taken, just a few light adjustments to fit thempersonal tastes. I noticed a slight image distortion, inevitable on this type of lens, but for now I have not seen chromatic aberrations. My opinion is that it is a good lens sold at a (full) price advantageous and appetizing, if you are lucky enough to find it used it is a great deal.

Pros: Really very clear to all the diafammi, to f22 obviously the diffraction is seen ...., light, compact, well built, excellent ring of the maf, economic

Cons: Whisper distortion but easily correctable.

Opinion: I state that this is a very first impression after making some test shots on the fly after the purchase, then I promise to make any other comments.rnA pair of points I think are useful to many: rn- I understand how to do to correct automatically the distortion in ACR, you have to set as default the profile of the Sammy. So I take it automatically rn- I also realized something VERY important: the green dot for the maf is not reliable, at least on my D800 (verified: it happens to others! So eye!). rnWhen focusing, starting from a short distance, it starts blinking and lighting up at the right distance, but continues to be fixed green for a lot of space (type from 1m to 2m), leading to the error of maf, especially if we start from infinite towards the minimum distance, (at ta and close he too has a pdc not exaggerated ...). I would not want this to be a feature of the super-wide-angles that, in some way, put in crisis the systems of help to focus the green ball (of which I, to be honest,I've never trusted too much). The doubt came to me positioning it to infinity, the dot flashed and appeared the green arrow .... it was not fixed. Instead the lens was perfectly in focus !! I have read from many parts that the scale of the maf is unreliable, in my case it is not so, is precise and how, the problem is the green ball that brings me into the hole! Made the first few shots of last night, at f2.8 I thought it was a bit 'soft, I was out of focus because I trusted the green ball, focusing without taking into account you see a very clear sharpness even ta! rnPeccato this thing because the electrical contacts allow you to focus even on the sides, but if the green dot works badly is in fact useless or better, to be taken with the pliers. rn Well, however, having the images in focus with this 14mm is not a problem, in fact I have 3 possibilities: rn- focus on frosted glass, rn- use the scale of the maf, rn- use the green dot, but with the warning of pmake good when the dot begins to flash at the lower distance. rnrnThis optic, however, is always decidedly sharp, even and perhaps especially in ta, except for f22 where the diffraction intervenes to mitigate our ambitions. The nose is appreciably better than the 16-35mm / 4 Nikkor I had (and that was not bad ..). rnrnUpdate: after having done a good number of shots in various situations, I can only confirm the remarkable qualities of this perspective. Sharpness to all diaphragms, backlighting, excellent contrast, natural tones, ensure that the images produced by this lens are always at the highest possible levels.

Pros: Sharpness, depth of field, brightness, data management with Nikon

Cons: No serious problem, perhaps the delicate hinge

Opinion: I have taken this lens in a good used. Trying on the field with my D750 I was surprised by the quality and sharpness especially from F8 up but also the most open I can make respect. Excellent for daytime and night scenery. I would avoid architectural photos even if in pp you can improve the distortion that in these goals is accentuated and add normal. The objective is completely manual but in the Nikon case there are no problems, it is enough to set af 22 infinite and the rest is made in the room like all other lenses with zoom electronics and not. Very good for ff, less for dx that would become a 22mm. I read that some have complained about the approximate measurements on the focus ring ... not I know, I personally did not give any problems. Definitely a great opt ??for straconsiglio both for price and quality,

Pros: Price, construction, solidity, no high distortion

Cons: Sharpness, full manual.

Opinion: I bought the cine version, it changes little, the product is pretty much the same, that I say I tried it in the mountains on a full frame for the price is a really good product. It is not always a knife especially when there is little light and it's all open, the fact that it's full manual is not necessarily a counter, indeed I have a lot of fun and I've learned a lot about managing a manual optic. The haze that many criticize to me, not by the feeling of fragility, indeed .... certainly the true against is in sheet filters that cost an enormity.rnInsomma is the best stretched wide angle that does not have the distortion of the fish you can find at this figure, I highly recommend to those who want to try a ' wide-angle optics for the first time, but if you look for a definite optic, you should consult another one.

Pros: Shallow depth of field, sharpness, color, price,

Cons: Quality check

Opinion: I received a specimen with a clear focus problem in the right part of the frame and replaced it immediately. What I use now is completely free from the most known defects, which in my opinion are due to poor quality control of the house. The distance scale is sufficiently precise and the focus ring has a fairly wide range (almost a full turn). The diaphragm ring, much thinner, is not likely to be accidentally moved. After a few weeks of shots, I can notice an excellent sharpness and depth of field that I would call IMMENSA even with unshrouded diaphragms. The hyperfocal is in the reach of everyone, for almost all the shots you just place the focus after the 3 meters and the game is done, the differences from here to the infinite position only affect what is really close to the lens. As with all the wide wings pushed, non-central straight lines undergo a distortion, soluble with a click if you clicka in raw and with a bit more work if you jump in jpg. Shots, especially when it comes to open spaces, give a feeling of amplitude, breath, and movement. I like the color rendering and I almost have the impression that with this lens the shadow recovery possibilities have doubled (but I think it's just my impression). It's completely manual and there is no communication between the lens and the camera it does not involve big problems, at least for landscaping photography (it is certainly not the perfect lens to capture the moment), indeed it is a stimulus (or if you want to oblige you) to understand exposure, times and apertures: unlike what you get with The "normal" lenses can not rely on the exposure meter or the live view: when shooting the camera, the camera "f / 0" is actuated and behaves accordingly. With practice I noticed that you get a correct exposure when the meter shows about+1 stop.rnThere was no experience with this "toy" I was able to photograph with great satisfaction both landscapes in the sunshine and the classic milky way on summer nights.

Pros: Price-friendliness, sharpness, the Nikon model communicates EXIF ??data and you can automatically control the iris, rendered colors

Cons: Plug not comfortable to hang, protruding lens, be careful, manual focus (but is not necessarily a bad thing), distortion

Opinion: At such a price it is difficult to find a lens of this quality. Of course, it's manual focus (my specimen has the almost perfect focus ring) and distorts a lot (but remember that it's still a 14 mm with a 114 ° field angle), especially with architectural elements but has Truly a superb image quality and makes beautiful colors. If you are interested in a wide angle and manual focus does not scare you, this is the goal to buy, at least for the start, so you can try and decide if this type of photography really does, avoiding to make a prompt expense much bigger.

Pros: Unbeatable value for money to keep up with the most beautiful ultra wide-angle.

Cons: Fully manual and Canon lens does not provide Exif data

Opinion: Although it was the first time I looked at a lens that was not Canon I had to recapture. There is a lens that I conspicuously advise without fear of being denied, of course it is a completely manual target and Canon does not even provide Exif data but forgive these venial sins. It's crisp, it has a minimal distortion for an ultra-wide angle and the field angle is so wide that in the frame you get everything inside. RnOn this purchase I took advantage of it to change the focus slide using one with the broken image (Canon does not do it but a company that takes Canon slides and edits them) to overcome the lack of auto focus And the confirmation beep. RnThe contrast is great and the aperture is all about the chromatic aberration is not worse than the best Canon L series. I would recompress it without even thinking about it halfway, so there is no optic in the picture of a photographer.

Pros: Minimum focus Distance. Good Price but low quality

Cons: Chromatic Aberrations at the edges, bad sharpness to TA, disabling vignetting, slow decentralisation, non-existent quality control, no minimum tropicalization. Crazy Distortion, correctable but losing mm! It Becomes almost a 16mm!!

Opinion: I look Back after two years of intense use of the optics in question my review: Vote 5. Useless Lens to TA both for lack of sharpness and for terrible vignetting. Homogeneous Sharpness on the frame only at F/11. Try 4 different lenses, all are decentrated, three on the left and one on the right. Ring Nuts (partially remediable and still not so serious). Very risky front Element. Mounting filters costs more than the optics itself... And not a little. The price may seem very low, but it is justified by the mediocre quality and the POOR quality control of the manufacturer. For a few tens of euros more you buy (and adapts to Sony and) the Irix 15mm, slightly brighter, sharper at full aperture that this samyang at F4, with LESS VIGNETTING (!!!) and distortion, tropicalized in both variants, also mounts screw filters , very large certain but immensely more comfortable than the slab ones for the Samyang (150x150) and less expensive. The distortion is horrible and intrusive, it corrects enough in post production, but this leads to a substantial and important loss of pieces of framing, every time you compose you have to put into account that you will crop the image which is indecent: you buy Such a perspective to make the most of all millimeters, and after the correction you find yourself with a shot of a 16mm lens, which is quite serious. I do not recommend buying this lens. You can have a LOT more at a virtually identical price. Who wants to convince you that this lens is "superlative", or does not agree to have taken a crab, or look at their photographs only on smartphones.

This is a particular focus that put a bit 'in crisis my way of photographing, but that is allowing me to learn a lot. Its quality (risolvenza) huge allows large cutouts in Camera Lucida. I use a lens for Canon, with extension on Sony A7RII.rnLo recommend it to anyone, even considering the price.

Pros: Contrast, detail and color range of photo

Cons: Limited number of filters, not shown for architectural photos.

Opinion: Using this lens with satisfaction landscape and astrophotography pictures without denigrating experiments in other fields. The lens is very well built: little electronic and mechanical much substance. manual focus, but it is absolutely not a problem. The Pentax model also allows the use of aperture priority mode. Compatibility for both APSC that FF. It has a really top class optical quality, as indicated in the "pro". You can use a few dedicated ND graduated filters within a dedicated holder (the petal-type hood is fixed), a characteristic that partially limits the versatility. For the rest I would absolutely recommend.

Pros: Crisp, bright, cheap. For a few Euros a professional-quality lens

Cons: Shortly protected, I'm afraid to scratch the lentona.

Opinion: Just trying it you understand why it is one of the most successful goals. It's cheap, so it is affordable for everyone .... It has an excellent build quality. The images are crisp and after a while you learn about everything: distortion, brightness and focus adjustments. I also believe that it is a lens on which to learn the manual. In fact, it's easy, I recommend using it in Av and study iperfocale. Comes in handy! A nice f2.8. It makes you curious to use the other objectives of the house.

Pros: Price, sharpness, quality construction, optical quality, color rendition.

Cons: Distortion, Filters.

Opinion: I have this lens for almost a year and the use of Nikon D750..Che say great lens for the price at which it is sold, since it is able to offer a very high quality. Sharpness good even at full aperture (2.8) to be used at night. This lens can only speak well. The only real against the distortion, which is sometimes really annoying especially the first few times but then it gets a little 'habit and takes off without major problems in the PP. For filters must compplicarsi a little 'life, buying the plates and the specific holder for this Samyang..E here in this case the costs might be a problem (we talk about 200 € if not more). It 'a lens which I highly recommend, especially if you are on fullframe (if you have APS-C shop around, you will find specialized targets for the size and equally very valid) This 14mm is really sharp and returns beautiful colors. Mounted to the camera body, when you look at the scene through the viewfinder, it is pure entertainment for ortbsp. I see people complaining about the lack of AF, but we are at 14mm .. and especially turning a bit 'aperture to blur the photo you should really make the commitment. If you do not have requirements for the use of filters, take it and do not regret it.

Pros: Price, optical quality, tone, firmness

Cons: lack AF (but not much), distortion,

Opinion: 14mm as the best quality / price ratio, excellent sharpness, and hue, which turn on the heat. The distortion can cause some discomfort, but nothing that can spoil pictures, and every so often if you use it for creative street feels the lack of AF, conversely focus manually as with the old optical gives me a unique flavor. The straconsiglio, although for me it has become too wide and I think that sooner or later will land to a 20mm.

Pros: Price, sharpness, construction.

Cons: Fragility of the lens hood.

Opinion: I bought a 250,00 euro, the German version signed Walimex Pro 14mm2.8 latest red circle (which use on Nikon D 600). I read on various forums the unreliability of the focus ring than the actual meters and I think has been resolved with the new models. I smiled the statements of the fan's signed Samyang version asserted with fervor and conviction that optics with this brand were the best performing of the other. The suggestion sometimes plays tricks. It is sold under various brand names depending on the country: Samyang, Rokinon, Walimex, ProOptik, Vivitar etc. They are exactly the same objective, with the same number of lenses in the same number of groups with the same anti-reflective treatment. End of the speech. Sharp to embarrass competitors by name emblazoned and the prohibitive cost. Distortion present but we are talking about a 14mm and pleasure use: fluid rings, solid construction (hood part), regret for having bought minimum (250.00 are the minimum wage). What do you want? use it divertendosthe! Highly recommended !!!!

This somewhat 'aiuta.rnAltra consideration, initially the photos seemed poorer quality than my usual shots, because enlarging shell almost immediately. Ragionandoci but I understood that my 18Mpixel forced to describe an angle of view of 14 mm are obviously less dense than a picture taken in 24millimetri or more. Cons: obvious distortion, manual focus

Opinion: Using this goal by a few months and I am not satisfied nor disappointed. Good f / 5.6 sharpness, while at f / 2.8 for my way of photographing landscapes is unusable. The colors are good and fairly saturated. I would have preferred auto focus for moments that do not require to waste time. Cons: distortion, economic construction, manual focus

Opinion: I have to say to be very satisfied with this lens. Sharpness and contrast are superb in combination with the D750, giving a high level of detail comparable to a Sigma Art. It 'manual focus, but you can easily make up for this lack by using it in hyperfocal. RNLA resistance to flare backlight is remarkable, forwarding produces a distinctive 6-pointed star already closing to f / 6.3, better than many optical distortion grandangolari.rnLa whisker is embarrassing, but you can live in bubble holding the machine axis horizontal, and possibly using the distortion correction plugin Lightroom if there were no architectural lines in the frame. Cons: no filter holder, only manual focus (Nikon version features gold piping connection pin), size and front lens front cap (too big).

Opinion: In use on APS-C Nikon (21mm equivalent of FF); version with gold band has pins that allow for the reference focus (dot green light in the viewfinder) and automatic exposure. A 14mm f11 has already iperfocale to 88cm (depth of field extends from 44cm to infinity) while on FF is 55cm. No problems detected on the scale of focus. Pros: price, sharpness and construction

Cons: distances bust

Opinion: I bought this lens for over a month and I can be very satisfied. Colors and impressive sharpness, provided you focus well and close to f8 to f11. CI takes a little time to get used to a completely manual lens but once the hand is a no-brainer. The only flaw is the distance scale completely busted. I had to do the test and score manually on the lens the various distances. With the 6d is a bomb and manages to pull off some beautiful pictures. I recommend it to anyone

Pros: Construction, Open, Price, Sharpness, Minimum Focusing Distance, Angle of View

Cons: Manual Focus (on a 14 is not a big problem, there is the Nikon version with confirmation chip and MAF for the exif), front lens that sticks out a bit 'too, cap, a mustache distortion, colors a bit' cold ring distances is not accurate.

Opinion: Great lens, but "to be understood." At first the feeling is not immediate, it should be built shot after shot. The ring distance is not accurate; This involves a bit 'of work to find the point at infinity (and mark). The distortion must be corrected with PT Lens (can also be combined as a plug-in in Photoshop), the colors ranging pulled a little 'out. On dx behaves well, although on some occasions can be a bit 'long (about 90 ° angle), fx is great, although a little smear' on the corners and slightly cartoon. Always clear, even at TA, I use it very often between f / 8 and f / 11. Excellent value for money. Beware of front and rear caps that slip off easily and the front lens that protrudes a bit 'too much.

Pros: price, sharpness, construction, brightness

Cons: distance scale inaccurate and distorted, however correctable,

Opinion: I use the Samyang 14mm f / 2.8 IF ED UMC Aspherical Canon 6D, I think it is a great lens for the excellent quality / prezzo.rnUtilizzabile for panoramic photos, night, architecture. Now you can find a little 'difficult to use as it is completely manual and the distance scale is not accurate, but after a while' evidence we realize that it is truly spectacular. For the type of photos that I do (landscapes and night) is not indispensable MAF automatic. The distortion is corrected in post-production. The alternatives to this lens, with the same characteristics, are few and much higher costs. I am very satisfied with my choice and would recommend it to everyone.

Cons: First thing I noticed, however, that the distortion is correctable with camera raw in a few seconds, even if you lose in certain shots in format

Opinion: I needed a bright whide and having read so much, I decided to take it and I was very satisfied, I repeat, distortion is a problem that is solved in a few seconds PP.rnNontato of APSC I find it very sharp, a lens that I needed to landscapes and architecture, and will put the whip in the next few days, even in the high mountains to shoot galaxies and stars.

Pros: Price, Sharpness, Brightness, Ease-in manual focus (Nikon version)

Cons: Just wanting to find ... Distortion (but not excessive and easily recoverable in PP) but we are talking about a 14 mm!

Opinion: I bought the model Walimex PRO 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC that exactly matches throughout the Samyang UMC also the anti-reflective coating, saving + / - 30 € Boys is virtually identical, has the function of storing data and EXIF ??just that highlights to surprise the lens model: Samyang AE 14mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC. By positioning the aperture to f/22 aperture allows the automatic management directly from SLR. The focus (Nikon model) is very easy and fast, the precise point is indicated by the green dot reflex through in the viewfinder (when correct focus lights). I have a Nikon D610 (FX) and trying to shoot at up to 2.8 aperture 16, the sharpness is amazing! rnChe say are quite satisfied and can not wait to try it seriously ;-) rnrnPS: I bought the lens on Amazon http://www.amazon.it/dp/B004HYBL0Irnrnrn

Pros: Price, brightness, quality construction

Cons: Noticeable distortion, exif data, inability to mount filters.

Opinion: It is a wide angle lens of rugged construction, the ratio quality / price excellent. The manual focus is not a problem in the focal so short, perhaps the distance scale is not the most accurate, who works with the hyperfocal needs a little 'attention and definitely shooting in live view. One thing to consider is the inability to mount filters on the aspheric lens and the fixed lens hood, the lens is very bright and it gets a bit 'more difficult to handle in long exposure shots. The distortion to "whisker" is obvious, but can be corrected in post. Overall it is a great ultra wide lens, can not be beat for the quality / price ratio.

Opinion: I have this lens a few weeks ago and I'm delighted. I waited, but above all I dreamed of the Canon 14/24 f. 2.8 that perhaps will never come out and so I decided. To me it is mainly intended for indoor photo is bright and basically just easily correct in post distortion. I took pictures at f8 even without a tripod and the results are stunning in my opinion. Pros: soundness, price, sharpness, brightness, angle of view, the price I mentioned?

Cons: no exif, no autofocus on canon (but it is a defect?) ... the lens cover will not fit in your pocket ...

Opinion: I got to try it on Aps-c and it seemed to go crazy without live view ... but just then came the 6D PUUFF a new world, made of light and detail. RNLA lack of electronics, considered by many as a defect, makes the use of the lens much more romantic and delicate, then considering that it is a fixed f2.8 What more could you want? rnih Ultimately, in my opinion, is great for make panoramas, night life, but also for creative photos and tremendous impact ... Pros: Solid construction, optical quality general mechanical functions with fluid and precise. Easy management manual. Price.

Cons: Distortion (it is a 14 ...), you have to understand exposure and WB in low light, in my 40d sometimes require attention and a few attempts.

Opinion: I state that I am a dilettantuccio and my opinions may be a little technical and unprofessional. I found it almost brand new 270 euro and I think the price / quality ratio-performance is unapproachable. On the other hand, it is easy to feel a lot to ask for used than new, but I think the reliability is very high, given the absence of electronics and servomechanisms. rnLe rings are extremely fluid and move with the thought, the coupling with the body is solid and stable. I have not assessed the scale of the MAF but I think the important thing is the real possibility of focuse infinity. rnIl fact that it is a valuable guide for me: in these focal've always everything in focus and the AF is perhaps more a risk than a benefit, if you hook something weird ... the edges RNLA disotorsione there, obviously , but it's part of the rules of the game. Gestibile.rnPer who still has something to learn - I have a lot - this is a master glass prezioso.rnL 'breadth of field and distortion teach you how to handle a lot of composition parameters(Position of the subject, shooting distance, angle of view, aperture, etc..) Without stressing too much with the technical aspects. For the same price you buy yourself a lens and a photography course ... In my opinion, a valuable complement to a bright paintings, for those who want mgliorare his compositional technique, far more useful than a std and absolutely nothing to do with the zoom.rnConsiglio strongly budding photographers to purchase a wide angle lens, highly recommended in my opinion because it is the Samyang quality, manual, cheap, gives the right balance between complexity and ease of use, and holds its resale value well.

Opinion: I bought it for a future transition to FF to use, of course, for landscapes and I immediately liked, use manual, after a short period of testing, from the pleasure of "taking pictures" and, in contrast to what is might think the cost is not high, its sharpness is very good, the distortion is not, in my opinion, excessive, however, easily corrected in PP. Cons: Mustache distortion, easily corrected with special programs. None worth mentioning.

Opinion: I'm in love with this lens, which I use for landscapes and night shots at the starry sky. On acting is exceptional, but it defended itself well on aps-c with a focal length equivalent to 22mm. The focus Manule beginning can be uncomfortable, but then considering the hyperfocal and comfortable ring focus, you want to play and learn to utilizare also the manual focus and life view. Cons: Distortion, fixed hood, lack exif data

Opinion: Objective really good, has a spectacular sharpness since 2.8, is very bright, shame about the manual focus, but at this price what do we want more? RNLA construction is excellent, the ring of soft Mf, perhaps the distance scale is not precisely accurate, but just put to infinity and the game is done, built-in hood which can be a Pro or against, depending on how you see it, it is very practical but at the same time a bit 'bulky, distortion a bit' too strong but easily correctable in PP, in conclusion has nothing to envy to the lenses that cost 5 times more. Cons: Distortion, the distance scale totally inaccurate, not recording data exif

Opinion: It 'an exceptional lens that if he had a more limited distortion and a ring of precise distances could be sold at three times the current cost. The construction is solid although far from the standards of Zeiss and well-balanced weight, despite the huge front lens. It has autofocus but I consider it superfluous on a 14mm, while I would have liked a more precise distance scale. RNLA sharpness, when the fire is set up correctly, it is impressive, although my copy loses something in the corners estremi.rnLa distortion is really heavy and in need of programs to correct it in almost all the photos; obviously not the ideal lens for photography architecture. Opinion: For what it costs is a great lens. Do not like the nikkor 12 24 but honestly you can stand. You could improve the microchip that communicates with the camera body. Pros: Excellent construction, focus ring is easy to manage; nice wide field angle, excellent brightness, negligible aberrations, glare resistant. Affordable price.

Cons: Excessive deformation. Maf manual, but easy to manage. Sharpness good, but in some shots I was not overly impressed. Only for nikonisti, it costs more than the model compatible for canon.

Opinion: I absolutely could not afford any 14 mm. Luckily there is the Samyang that achieves good targets at reasonable prices. Maybe I have not made the most of this light, but for the moment I have not seen a crazy sharpness. The manual focus at this focal length is a breeze. The distortion I can correct it very well with ptlens. Cons: ("ON CANON" No chip for confirmation MAF, does not record exif data,) ring diaphragms slightly soft, distortion, difference of 2 stops between viewfinder and live view

Opinion: How to start? for me this view is outstanding, comparing qualitàprezzo you have a winning combination, true wide-angle, panoramic I was able to admire the masterpieces, very bright (which usually means high price) with a similar price is mandatory to do a little thought in his favor , on FF (I currently use it on APS-C becoming a 22mm approx) has a bit of geometric distortion (especially visible in the architecture, while the landscape shows no signs of suffering) fortunately does not suffer from AC and above all is clean and razor sharp for me not against it enough to call into question, perhaps only the unforgivable lack of care MAF making it difficult, if not impossible to focus at night or without live view and tripod, so you must work hyperfocal

Pros: Fantastic resolution over the entire area of ??a camera FF as low as f / 5.6, but also to larger openings. Good behavior on all fronts. Very robust and accurate.

Cons: distortion "mustache" difficult to correct, but not with the great and cheap SW PTlens, which corrects the distortions of excellent architectural photography ..... even the extreme borders!

Opinion: In fact I bought the latest version in February 2012 with the initials Samyang 14 mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC and I do not know if it is the old model reported in this review. The difference between the two models (Samyang 14 mm f/2.8 IF ED MC Aspherical Vs Samyang 14 mm f/2.8 ED AS IF UMC) in qualitative terms, in particular as regards the flare, vignetting, and more resolution is very sharp. I've tried it in India and I was soddisfatissimo, just know how to behave! for photos from 1m to infinity, setting approximately 1.2 m and F / 5,6-8.0 you have everything in focus, from a few centimeters (0.5 / 0.6 m) to infinity. rnNon is a lens to play but to make us beautiful photos! Opinion: I bought this lens with scetticità even though the reviews were, despite some known flaws, very positive. In fact has a very good brightness and sharpness, especially in night shots and being very thorough, it is suitable for any field is to shoot the starry heavens as the Milky Way is in panoramic daylight, maintaining exceptional clarity in detail with diaphragms very open. It has electric servo mechanisms, but the settings of the rings are easily accessible, perhaps a little less of the ring aperture. Cons: Vignetting evident in TA, distortion (easily corrected with Ps).

Opinion: Recently purchased and used on Nikon D800, I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality and performance. Sharpness and colors really good. Chromatic aberration virtually absent. Ring MAF very fluid. In addition, the Nikon mount version is equipped with a microprocessor that makes visible the Exif data, although for me it is not very relevant. Pros: Manual Focus, very sharp (even at room temperature), bright, no AC, resistant to flare and excellent color. Sturdy as a rock! Value / price unbeatable.

Cons: you can not mount filters, distortion.

Opinion: It 'a great lens, economical for its optical qualities. It 's really very clear already at f2.8 and this is an important factor for those who take pictures at night or in dark environments ... TA to the vignetting is not an oversimplification to f4 f5 and above, 6 becomes a blade, zero AC and flare. It is a manual focus lens and I think this thing a PRO, especially for people like me who often uses the hyperfocal ;) (I made marks on the barrel to remember all the hyperfocal distance for any f, really useful). Difficult to judge the bokeh of this lens ... to 14mm f2.8 exist? yes, only if you closeup .. and you will see a blur pleasant and delicate. The cons of this lens are the distortion (easily limitable in pp) and the impossibility to mount filters of any kind: the front lens is very large, and also projecting the optic has the built-in hood, fixed. I own this lens about 15 months and I think I keep it with me for long! It 's my favorite optical tied with Samyang 35mm f1.4 brother, and think that the Canon equivalent cost 7 times a Samyang 14mm and 3 times a Samyang 35mm f1.4 ... I hope that these are indeed lower than the equivalent Samyang canon (I do not seem, except for f), otherwise ... Samyang life! Superconsigliata, especially for sensors FF!

Cons: Scale of maf little precisa.Vignettatura pronounced diaphragms alti.Esposizione different between viewfinder and live view.Niente exif.

Opinion: Like others I bought the lens after several reports of positive performance compared to objectives blasonati.Sono was pleasantly surprised by the color rendering, the sharpness, and monitor after correction lens with the photoshop.A the annoying lack of exif data (except ISO and exposure time) the thing that catches the eye more (due to the fact that it is completely manual) is that exposure in the viewfinder does not reflect reality, but overexpose at least 2 stop.Questo you notice opening the live view instead exposes the image properly. Another curious thing but it probably does not matter that the body is in my possession detects it as a part 50mm.A these little things are solvable happy with your purchase made taking into account the price and compatibility with a full frame.Ovviamente is not a lens to be "photos on the fly" but need a bit of preparation to bring home a good scatto.Lo highly recommend it for landscapes especially at night due to the opening.

Cons: Lack autofocus, does not record exif data.

Opinion: I bought this lens after reading several reviews that extolled the sharpness, to photograph the northern lights. I was pleasantly impressed, for the price it costs is a great lens, very bright and with equal sharpness of lenses that cost five times as much. The only drawback, of course, the lack of autofocus and manual diaphragm. For those who love the vintage will not be a problem, I personally do a little 'effort, since it is a wide angle pushed to focus on foreground subjects compared to infinity with the single image of the eyepiece.
