Pros: Especially stabilized sensor, then double dial, ergonomics of controls, very solid construction, excellent images even at high iso, price, compatibility objectives MF Pentax K

Cons: Especially AF not like canon/Nikon of equal level, battery life not excellent (but sufficient) park objectives AF Pentax and compatible a little dated, color profiles not present on the main PP software, both commercial and open source.

Opinion: After years of inactivity, I took this machine, which I liked because it lacks some "frivolities" that Canon and Nikon charge for and that I consider useless (e.g. touch or "evolved" video functions). Pentax looks after the hard work and at a competitive price offers a very solid, tropicalized machine, with stabilized sensor, functions almost as pro, all the controls in the right place and a good sensor. The main "weakness" and for me the only one is an autofocus not on par with the competition, both in accuracy and speed. In this field it seems that Pentax is still firm to the technology of analog machines of the 90s. Nothing dramatic, with a little practice and eye there are no problems. Other flaws, not attributable to the machine, are the lack of consideration by the manufacturers of "third" optics that no longer propose lenses with Pentax attack, due to the poor market penetration of the brand. Same goes for color profiles preloaded on PP software, where the K70 is often not received. Finally, while the MF "vintage" optical fleet is very vast, the AF Pentax optics are a bit dated, often still with "screwdriver" technology or controlled by the machine body, so with some flaws in terms of accuracy and speed (as well as noise of operation). The K70 is a machine I recommend for landscapes, travel photos, portraits, macros, street. Not at ease with the sports photo and the wildlife.

Pros: It still holds well in your hand and the viewfinder is good, real new life useful to vintage lenses. Countless ways customization.

Cons: Catch in Focus: works only with targets that transmit contacts (A) directly connected to the body because if you interrupt for example an extension tube (without contacts) it still shoots out of focus; There is also no spy or icon to remind you that you have enabled the catch in focus option. You have to learn well the menus and shortcuts, the macro scene mode just not good. Small battery lasts little, too little both original and not. There is no battery grip.

Opinion: The SMC's 18-55 AL WR lens is a bit mechanically worthwhile; Although light and comfortable and the filter part does not rotate changing fire or length but does not allow you to gradually sharpen the fire immediately after the automatic one and has a game, a slack on its despicable dial. It doesn't matter if the attack is plastic, but I can't use it in a practical way to correct the fire especially in the movies; Of course I paid the whole -body with goal- conveniently 372.28th VAT included, but so much. In my hand the K-70 I hold it well, I have average size 7.5 of gloves, i do not run away and I do not touch inadvertently various buttons, but I need to look for them and if I leave the monitor (LCD screen) exposed to the body of the machine, my nose fattens it because the eyeball comes out very little, but the screen not being touch has no other problems indeed I can rotate it and turn it in a thousand other positions. The built-in flash is useful, convenient and has the same dual guide (12) as KP's. On 18-55 in this regard I immediately put this functionality to check the depth of field but I wonder why Pentax has not already preset it. Returning to the machine: The macro scene function (SCN) inexplicably prefers the most open diaphragm, even with the automatic flash activated on and/or with ISO sensitivity raised; the same "macro" photos with manual settings are much sharper -having been able to tighten the diaphragm - than those made with SCN MACRO. The view in the crosshairs is good - not as big and bright as my old Ricoh KR-10M - but certainly much more than the digital one of the Panasonic DMC-G6K that I gave. I can appreciate the focus well both with the red light in the crosshairs in the fire zone, both with the sound bib, and from the screen with the solution of glitter to the contour of the subject. I was able to experiment with mounting two old lenses for which it was not necessary to do the fine regulation of the fire, possible anyway with K-70 with memory to not remember how many different targets. A lens I tried to make a macro of a spider; nothing of that, I had an old Tamron 80-210 Adaptal 2 with P/KA hoof, diaphragm diaphragm diaphragm dial brought in A and maximum focal length, selection of the diaphragm from the machine with one of its guineas, no support but satisfied flash shot integrated! I took some quick photos as a portrait with his 18-55, on the outside it is not dark, it opens little, but it seems to make it good in both details and colors, while using it with jpg without retouching.

Pros: Well made machine and does his job beautifully

Cons: Menu a little difficult

Opinion: After so many years of Pentax from the years 70 and then passed to Canon, I returned to my old Love (also by virtue of the fact that I had several fixed optics) that today call Vintage. I am happy with the yield of the files that I find well balanced. I shoot a lot at very high sensitivity (concerts and the like) and think of working often at 6400-12800 ASA may seem counterproductive. He's doing well. It may be that I am satisfied, but I think you can get some good photos considering the situation

Pros: Kinda everything in this segment

Cons: I don't know

Opinion: I had never had to deal with this brand, if not read on the net, tried a specimen of a friend... for the price range in which it ranks surprised me and not little, the impression is of an entry level that does not fear the comparison with a semi-pro... ergnomica in hand you Does track better than my Nikon, management that I found intuitive and decidedly less cumbersome in the menus than Nikon... even the 18-55 in the supplied I thought it was better made than those provided in the related SLR entry compartments of other brands... will be the Number of lenses, it will be a matter of marketing I do not know... but to leather and as first impression this little one is worth every euro spent... definitely more interesting than the competition... brand that deserves more attention.

Pros: Pentax quality, stabilized body, tropicalized, pentaprism, swivel display, Wi-Fi connection, built-in astrotracer, pixel-shift, no AA filter, handy and practical without losing in robustness, excellent high ISO hold, double ring.

Cons: For my needs, none.

Opinion: I purchased this body after my dear K30. I was looking for quality improvements in terms of resolution (16 to 24 mpx), the use of a revolving display to improve the possibility of having less usual shooting points with greater practicality, and a Wi-Fi connection that would allow me to interact with the Phone without waiting to work on the PC for family occasions. I was very satisfied with what I found simple and instinctive the use of these novelties. I found that the dedicated app allows you to also shoot directly from the phone monitor by focusing directly with touch by the same. I found and tried for curiosity other functions that the body has more than the past K30, as well as notable improvements and additions to the various advanced shooting modes such as Multiexposures (with many more setting options), functionality of Time lapse up to 4k with in-room mounting option, extraction of individual frames. The body is equipped with an astrotracer built-in which requires a GPS to be purchased separately unlike other higher models. I've never practiced the genre, I'll make a point. I never do videos so nothing I can say about it. Interesting the function of pixel shift, also foreseen with the shutter option that corrects the movements directly from the camera; It seems to me to obtain good results also on subjects with slight movements and with use therefore both freehand and with non-static subjects (limited to slow movements of course). In addition to having a very good detail, it allows you to greatly reduce the noise by shooting at very high ISO. It seems to me anyway great and improved the yield at high ISO even with the single shot, being able to raise one-two stops fairly quietly compared to K30 with more than acceptable results in many conditions. It will allow me to use the 55-300 in the gymnasiums for my daughter's competitions with more tranquility, as well as the 12-24 even when it starts to go down the daylight. On the other qualities of 5-axis stabilization, tropicalization, pentaprism and so on typical of Pentax the product nothing does miss. I feared a little the size somewhat reduced, albeit slightly compared to K30, not liking much too small bodies. In a couple of days I have quietly adapted eliminating almost every annoyance, with the addition that with the 55-300 I have a feeling of greater manageability (despite being in my opinion only psychological). The same applies when I put almost all my kit (12-24, 55-300, 18-55 WR, a fixed and sometimes a ME Super) in the bag size Ryanair that I always carry with me. The battery life seems to me in line with the previous K30 and for which I rarely needed to use a second escort. Using for trial only the LW was coming to an end after about two to three hours of continuous ignition. The autofocus seems to me improved, and more than satisfactory for the needs of what I practice. I do not find it bad even with the use options for the LW, which I previously did not use practically ever. There are two more focus modes that seem to me to be the same as the top models. To tell the truth I have no special memories of photos lost because of the AF even the previous body. Thanks to a promotion I bought this body for a little less than 500 euros and those who want to take advantage until the end of the year can hardly regret it, for the quality and substance that is found in this medium. Pros: Tropicalization and quality construction, double time-diaphragm ring, pentaprism emview with 100% coverage, high ISO quality, stabilizer on the sensor.

Cons: 1) To be fussy, the battery may last a little longer.

Opinion: I update the review of this reflex today (17/12/2018) after, a few days ago, he celebrated his first 10,000 shots. I used it and I continue to do it with the excellent lens 18 - 135 mm bought along with the machine. What I appreciate most is its handle that allows me a solid grip having at the same time the most important controls always at close range (the double ring time-diaphragms and even the customizable buttons) to react more quickly to the without going to navigate the menu. Great noise management at high sensitivities (up to 12800 working a bit in post-production you can recover good photos). As a construction, Pentax's care for materials remains unchanged and tropicalization works optimally: among the many situations I used it in the hot, cold and humid wind of the Apuane Alps and with snow and was always ready and responsive. The internal stabilizer in the machine and the compatibility of the K-attack with all the objectives of the house make it almost unlimited to choose optics to match. It remains to be added, aspects not taken for other bodies of equal level, the pentaprism echelon with close to 100% coverage and the right dimensions that are perfect to get it into the backpack before a hike. The disadvantages are the following: 1) Just under 500 clicks with a battery (without flash) for some can be a problem but personally remedy easily: I immediately mount a second one or you shoot consciously. Finally, regarding aspects such as touchscreen or the ability to make 4K videos (excluding timelapse), they are features that I am not interested in because where this reflex behaves really well is the photographic scope.

Pros: Ways of exposure all at the reach of the dial, without descending into the menu, good yield to the high iso, present the double wheel for times and diaphragms. Coverage scope 100%

Cons: Size: Buttons too close for those like me who have big hands. Maybe a little "small" and light for certain telephoto lenses

Opinion: Good camera, equipped with various modes of exposure all easily accessible via comfortable dial, holds quite well the high iso, shutter slightly faster than the category to which belongs 1/6000 sec . The camera is equipped with a dual wheel that makes it considerably more intuitive in the use of times and diaphragms, full of software to modify files that you struggle to use all of them. Interesting the possibility of moving the sensors of the autofocus. Also useful is the monitor that can be tilted if necessary. The stabilization of the camera probably reduces the move by a couple of stops. very useful the coverage of the crosshairs 100% Ultimately a camera with a good endowment and easy to use, which finds some flaws in the dimensions that are a little small, especially when using telephoto lenses f 2.8 and in the buttons maybe too close for those like me who have big hands and easily touch the monitor with their thumb. Overall, however, I would recommend

Pros: Tropicalized, compact, construction, controls, stabilization

Cons: Perhaps with the 70-200 f2.8 DA * slightly inaccurate and only a few times

Opinion: The K-70 is really a great car, neophyte has allowed me to learn to photograph in manual with great satisfaction: thanks above all to the double ring and the ability to use the 4-way selector for ISO without ever taking your eyes off the viewfinder. The tropicalization is exceptional: in light rain, in front of waterfalls, in the mist and in the rainforest, it has never lost a beat and it works very well. It is light, comfortable to wear and sturdy. Stabilization makes it even easier to use. The menus are easy and intuitive. all these qualities at the same price the constance I do not know if he has them ... rnl 'only defect is that by shooting with the lens listed above at maximum aperture, sometimes hooking a hair more "back" ... away. (I did some tests with the tripod however question of mm)

Pros: Tropicalized, stabilized, double strap dial, right-hand commands, full features, great rendition, light weight, low bulb, adjustable screen, excellent construction

Cons: Nobody for now ... maybe having only 11 focal points ... amen, I was used to only 9 focal points; 11, so much stuff.

Opinion: Used all day and I fell in love! Easy commands to learn from canon that are already very simple, very complete menu, has so many of those features that I have not been able to test them all, some things only find on the most expensive and professional reflexes. RnTropicalized, I find it a grain Very useful (I often left the canon at home for that too) and for having it on other brands you have to spend a lot more.rnStabilizzato molto bene.rnCompact and lightweight: I turned and asked for opinions for a month before deciding what to buy and doubt Was to go mirrorless, but in the end I'm very happy to have chosen this k-70. In a whole day I did not seem to have touched it along with the fantastic 18-135. One ml would "disappear" in my hands and I do not know if I would have liked it so much. I forgot the adjustable screen what I already had with 600d.rnDecisamente great buy, keeping it in your hand seems to be built much better than the canon I had before.

Pros: High sensitivity, Macro zoom lens, swiveling live view, wide selection of shooting modes, 100% viewfinder cover, compact size and last but not least the ability to use the goals I've purchased in the 80's, including The bellows.

Cons: For now nothing

Opinion: I claim my more than a review is a love affirmation for this car. I possess it recently, but I am already excited, I confess that I still do not know all the possibilities it offers but already so is satisfying me in full. After years of color slides and b / n films with its acids and developments (I own 2 Pentax LX with interchangeable viewfinder) I decided to take the digital path and consider myself a neophyte who has everything to learn. Two things have pushed me to write this review, the first is love for Pentax, the second is that I'm comparing with a friend who has a Nikon d7200 and would not go back to my choice: the only way to have the live Orientable view is a noteworthy advantage, not to mention the commands all in the right place (is ergonomic?) Great Pentax.

Pros: A weatherproof, complete with everything you need, great colors, high ISO quality features found on professional machines, compact to carry it everywhere, excellent responsiveness, Live View do good quality and response, stunning customization rebounding and playing.

Cons: Just 11 focal points, maybe the battery could last longer.

Opinion: High-level features such as Pixell Shift, Time Lapse (exceptional) and another found on professional bodies. Excellent ISO seal. Easy to take anywhere thanks to its small size, the protection against the elements, including some equally protected optics. With the optical zoom 18-135mmWR and the new 55-300mm WR RE, it is in place for almost every eventuality. The colors and personalizazzioni, as always in Pentax: fantastic! Despite just 11 focal points, responsiveness and image coverage is excellent. The Pixell Shift and Time Lapse functions are superior machine. Time Lapse movies in 4K, Star Trail, and day and night landscapes of excellent workmanship.

Pros: As per tradition Pentax construction accuracy, quality of materials and, above all, compactness; with dimensions comparable to a "bridge" and perhaps just a little higher than an ML, easily transportable, with another optics, in a practical photographic pouch, the K70 encloses in itself many of the features of the "big sister" K1 to little more than a third of the price; the controls, dialers and keys, are well assembled and made and the response is decisive and free of uncertainty and confirms the impression of solidity and constructive accuracy of the K70; the two opposing areas, also present on the K1, are as easy to use and the operation is quick and intuitive even for those who come from other brands; For almost all shooting options you do not need to go in or scroll the menu: a special screen immediately callable allows you to make the settings; the rear display, which shows all the shooting parameters, is orientable, a function for me essential, even if the hub does not have the sophistication of that of the K1; it can be illuminated in red, a measure that should make it easier to see at night.

Cons: For some, it may be smallness that is a problem; For me that I have normal sized hands, the handling of the machine is unparalleled and particularly welcome; a small drawback, to be fussy, is the poor visibility of the visible focus bright spots in the viewfinder, which can also be excluded: framing a particularly illuminated scene, the LEDs, red in color, are not but it's a venial sin: they can be seen anyway and just "make our eye". Some occasional uncertainty in the automatic white balance in suboptimal light conditions, pop-up flash control not always up to par with the need to adjust its emission. Sometimes difficult focus in LV in low light. Understandably, given the price, the machine does not have the double slot and not even the top display but the latter particular for me has no relevance: I have never looked at it!

Opinion: The "heart" of the machine is Sony's excellent 24 mpx sensor, with a dynamic range that is perhaps among the best on the market; the images, thanks also to the proprietary program Silkypix (the only flaw is to be very slow!) you can work with extreme ease and the possibilities of recovering "difficult" shots are many; the high ISO estate: in my humble opinion, higher than that of the K1, being able to easily get to 9000 ISO: better not to go further. I took it in kit with the 18-135, an extraordinarily compact "all-rounder" with amazing yield, given the wide excursion; the MAF is very fast and precise (I refer to the single one, for the type of photo that I take just and advances!) and fully up to the competition, of the one with which I can compare, at least. The machine does not have the AA filter, insertable, and this, combined with the excellent sensor, allows a wealth of detail remarkable, which is particularly appreciated with the fixed optics, numerous and excellent in the Pentax house; It is not necessary to remember that to date Pentax has perhaps the most supplied optical park for Aps-c. I am not able or even would like to make comparisons but I believe that the K70 is one of the best Aps-c on the market today, especially considering the price-performance ratio, as already happens, in the FF field, for K1 and that, as the "big sister" is a candidate in its own right as a fearsome competitor in today's photographic market.
