Pros: Ergonomics, software, colors, high iso seal together but only thanks to the Denoise software otherwise poor as all M43 in general (but it is not their fault is the physics of the small sensor unfortunately)

Cons: Honestly none, maybe the size and weight not really in line with the Micro Quattri Terzi philosophy

Opinion: I'm currently using it instead of my D610. Honestly, I've never used such a reliable camera in my life. Sofware fast and intuitive, MAF that I must say has never canned a photo. I photographed my dog while he was running, the tour of Italy and several seagulls in flight and he always hooked them to me without problems. It holds very well in the hand, ergonomics really well studied. For now my second favorite, in first place as ergonomics there is the Olympus Em1 Mkii onwards, it seems made on the mold of my hand.

Pros: Ergonomics, AF for photos great (I do not make videos), customizations, viewfinder (even for those who wear glasses), dual card, incredible stabilization, High resolution, good autonomy for photos.

Cons: Nothing. For my way of photographing nothing is missing, on the contrary...

Opinion: As I said I only talk about the photographic side because I don't make videos. Initially I was hesitant since I already have a GX9 with the same sensor. In the end I took it essentially for two reasons: viewfinder and grip. But once I arrived I discovered another world. It is really addictive, it is sewn on you as an extension of your body. Everything at your fingertips, even using the manual MAF is a pleasure (especially with the latest FW). The single focus is lightning fast and customizable as you want. AFC rarely use it with my dogs that play and hook very well, especially with the Leica 12-60. I was going to take the OM1 which costs more than double... luckily I thought about it and I didn't make the mistake. It will have advanced technologies but honestly I do not need them

Pros: Tank, battery all in all acceptable, burst, speed of use, double slot, customizable buttons, mymenu, ibis, high resolution shooting, video quality

Cons: high iso, shutter button too sensitive, dimensions (even if they benefit ergonomics), af c, tell her that it can not be a pro

Opinion: I took this G9 to start making weddings, I already had a gx80 that for obvious reasons was not suitable for this purpose, I replaced a 25mm f1.7 with a leica f1.4, the olympus 12-40 pro with the pana II 12-35 f2.8 to have the double ibis. I have never had a problem that is one, the battery when in EVF saving mode easily reaches 1000 shots, when not saving about 600 (a little' little), the same EVF is very good, adjustable in size and I found myself well for color fidelity, the screen above I do not see it very useful on an ML with all the info already in the viewfinder and with articulated screen, but there is, the convenience of having so many fn buttons really allows you to set it as you like (I have the two front buttons next to the lens set to fine-tuning and high-res mode), there are all the dials you need, I honestly miss a lock button to the "canon". The weight and size are atypical in the m43 world but I will tell you, this shape seems to have been made especially for my hands, with the 12-35 (the heaviest of the lenses I own) even after 12 hours of work, the weight on the hands does not give problems. The videos well, it is a GH5 with a few less functions, nothing to report because we are at decidedly professional levels. Side photo well... If you are people who never go above 6400iso is the machine for you, the IQ is decent, the color range is on par with the FF of 2014 (approximately, of course there are nikon monsters that exceed the stra). I would never, ever change it (maybe only with an S5), but I recommend you make a series of f1.4 lenses (the Sigma triptych would be perfect), because like all cameras, where there is no light there is no quality.

Pros: Top construction, dual slots, top display, customization, autofocus with 225 zones, EVF, ergonomics, amount of rings and selectors, spatial IBIS

Cons: Extremely sensitive shutter button, if it can be a defect, given the size of the battery I would have expected a longer duration. Don't take it before

Opinion: I state that I know the M43 system well, as I already have a GX8 and I exchanged the GX9 with this G9 a little out of curiosity, so let's say that I know what the strengths and weaknesses of this system may be. I add that I also have the Lumix 12-60 f/3.5-5.6, the Panaleica 15 f/1.7, the 35-100 f/4-5.6 and the 20 f/1.7, so a fairly complete and articulated kit. I took it from RCE Foto with very few shots and still with the films on the two displays, practically immaculate! I've had it for a couple of days, and I guarantee you that it is a camera that in your hand is addictive to how well it is built; it is solid, robust, it grips wonderfully has a lot of customizable keys and rings which literally allows you to "sew it on". To be an M43 weights a little, I admit, but it is that weight that gives security and confidence, so for me it is not a defect, far from it I would say ... Very nice EVF, perhaps it suffers from a slight distortion, but it is fluid and very very bright. I'm not here to judge the IQ, but if I can say that I'm satisfied with the images produced by the current GX8 and the previous GX9, I can only expect better from the G9 especially in terms of AF where I think it is definitely superior to the two previous models. Given its size I would have expected a longer battery life, but I reserve the right to do some tests with a new one, I would not like that having taken it used its battery was not 100% Needless to say that the double SD slot is priceless, such as the tropicalization and the status display, details that make this camera decidedly professional. They say it's also excellent for the video part, but I don't do them even with the mobile so I don't know what to say !!!! I should have just taken it earlier...

Pros: PRO body, dual SD slots, 4k video, internal stabilization, pleasure of use

Cons: Photo quality, ISO

Opinion: I bought this machine at the end of October giving away my d7100. I gained a lighter but even more robust body, with an intuitive interface and many interesting functions - among other things very easy to select already in the quick menu with the touch screen. I used it combined leica 15mm, pana 25mm, pana 42.5mm and 7artisans 60mm macro. The strong points are certainly the videos: articulated screen very comfortable even in photography, 4k video up to 60 fps, many color profiles and the possibility of having a more flat one to manage in post. The ergonomics of the body is very good, very reminiscent of that of a classic SLR but with a lot of technology inside and greater handling especially combined with lenses of really ridiculous dimensions. In practice, if you bring with you the body plus 3 of the lenses that I have listed on (15, 25, 42.5) you get to about 1kg. Cons: the small sensor implies that the photo must be composed almost perfectly already during shooting, the possibilities of crop are very limited. The malleability of the files is also low, the dynamic range is lower than a mid-low range apsc (as can be the nikon d7100). This is also due to the fact that the photos almost totally lack fine detail (even with high-end lenses, a concept that I will resume later). The stabilization of the sensor helps a lot, you can compensate for the absent iso seal with very long shutter speeds, even 1/6 freehand without too many problems. But if by chance you have to go up with the iso, already at 1600 the detail in the photos drops drastically. Bought with the idea of making videos in the naturalistic field thinking of buying the panaleica 100-400, I sold it after seeing the poor quality of the raw made with g9 + panaleica 100-400 that gave lower results than those I obtained with d7100 and tamron 100-400. Consiliatissima for videomakers, with 700 euros in the used you take home a beast, highly recommended for those looking for a very light set up to take on excursions with even the choice of slower, not recommended for those looking for so much quality in the files.

Pros: Build quality, ergonomics, iso seal, customization keys

Cons: Having given it away .... but I took it back!

Opinion: I had a g9, which I had changed for passage to another brand FF .... I could not resist and I had to take it back ... The machine conveys a truly top feeling, many options for customizing the keys, iso seal, white balance in my opinion among the best of many tested and photographic equipment of weight and small dimensions! What more could you want!?!? I paired a panaleica 100-400 a panaleica 45 macro is an olympus 12-40 f2.8 pro, I miss the Panasonic 35-100 and kit practically finished!

Pros: Build quality and solidity at excellent levels, customization keys in quantity, superior display, lightness, dual SD slots, full-size HDMI input and not mini

Cons: Dimensions a bit 'exaggerated For the series micro four thirds but for some it can be a Pro, shutter button sometimes too sensitive just touch it and shoot, the battery does not last long

Opinion: Panasonic in this body has achieved excellence the combination of photos and videos in the micro four-thirds sector, I was looking for a machine that would allow me to take great photos and good video I found! Build quality also incomparable to the Olympus counterpart, video quality practically equated to the gh5, in combination with large lenses such as the 100 400 Panasonic I have the 40 150 Olympus Pro has no rivals! Every time I mounted one of those two lenses I seemed to have the perfect camera, you could freehand to make great photos and great videos in good light conditions, very useful superior display, tropicalized to perfection, 6k burst shooting from 18 megapixels, High Speed shot of 20 RAW per second! Unfortunately it also has some cons, The battery lasts fairly little the dimensions are rather abundant for the micro four-thirds sector but for some they can be a Pro, not for me that I have quite small hands, the shutter button is too sensitive as soon as you touch it shoots, said this for those looking for a robust tropicalized and well-balanced machine with pushed zoom you can not do without it even for current prices!

Pros: AF, massive body, tropicalization, endless menu, just get your hand, Jpeg, good ISO seal, dual SD slot

Cons: Don't take it before

Opinion: After years of Nikon SLR, I switched to the Micro 4/3 I think with the best camera on the market today, updated to FM 2.4 With the Panaleica 12-60 2.8-4 lens I find myself wonderfully waiting for a telezoom ( I think the 100-300 ii ) , a macro ( I think the Olympus 60 ) and a fixed 15 mm bright ( I think the Panaleica ) . Finished kit. Equipped with original BP I have no battery problems From the few shots taken very satisfied

Pros: AF, video quality

Cons: ISO. Otherwise it's great.

Opinion: Just replaced the 6D with this model. Not having high ISO requirements, the Panasonic in comparison to the 6D is a spaceship. If you don't take pictures of events/weddings etc.. play it safe. Also excellent in video version. (where the 6D is embarrassing.) I am delighted with the move to Panasonic that I had never considered. Now soon I will join one of the GH family

Pros: Autofocus, functions, weight, lenses, price, ergonomics, speed, functions, resistance to high ISO

Cons: -

Opinion: A perfect camera, with the new updates of the lumix, this little gem has become big. I use it prevelantemente for weddings, with Lenses Olympus 17(35mm) f1.2 - Olympus 25(50mm) f1.2 - Olympus 45)90mm f1.2. I now have two g9, focus speed to be scary, touch screen infallible, endless options, given that it takes a lot to learn how to use it 100% and if you do not have patience you could give a negative opinion, as was mine at the beginning, learning to use it to the maximum can exceed even many full frame machines of higher cost. Someone might think that a micrro 4/3 can not withstand the noise at high ISO, instead this machine resists and how, shooting at a maximum of 6400 ISO, then workable in light room without a minimum problem, printable photos, I recommend using a flash, very good a godox, in the wedding shot with the right flash in the dances, or to the cake, the rest is all without flash with bright lenses, at f1.2, and not having a depth of field like the full frame, you can buy the brightness of 1.2 without however looming in fear of not finding the focus point, the only negative / positive note the blurred micro 4/3, negative because very nice example using the 90mm 1.2 you have a blur equal to a 2.8 on full frame, but it certainly does not get to have it as the full frame, but positive because surely buying brightness you can shoot very well without losing the focus point. So I would put it in positive. To buy now! Only thing, read the manual, do the updates and do a lot of practice. Super machine.

Pros: A great camera that today you buy at really inviting cost, great autofocus unlike the bullshit that some users write, image quality, ergonomics, really unique general functions.

Cons: Nothing perhaps unlike the Olympus EM1X with which I work as MICRO4OTERZI a lower resistance to high iso, it seems to me that over 1600 and already these are already a limit in my opinion, there is a really annoying noise that can still be solved in post production.

Opinion: Great camera repeat that today you buy new under 1000 euros and it is worth them all, lightning autofocus 0.4 seconds a crazy speed, on the tip and shoots maybe only Olympus with the EM1X equals it but it costs twice as much, having also Sony and having worked with Fuji I can say that this jewel of Panasonic outperforms them. Nothing can be said about tracking, in my opinion having used it both on sports and naturalistic photos is very good, better than Olympus that struggles more but certainly not better than Sony alpha 9 that I use for the most. Otherwise a camera with many merits, I believe that some users should first learn to photograph knowing at least the fundamentals of photography and then judge, I read reviews on this site that I sometimes consider a real fun for the stupid ities that are written, however in my opinion an absolute 10 camera to recommend absolutely with an unsurpassed quality price ratio.

Pros: Image quality, high-resolution shooting

Cons: -

Opinion: I was very amazed and pleased with the overall image quality. Churn out very nice photos, with the right lenses the image quality is practically at the level of the best apsc, with dynamic range and iso seal very close.. You can only see a dominant magenta in the recovery of "strong" subpositions with low light, and just one more noise wire at medium high iso than for example the Sony A6600, but it is not a problem..

Pros: all

Cons: weight

Opinion: The only machine body that satisfied me 100%, the only one I have been keeping for more than 1 year with me, excellent videos, excellent photos, high resolution mode, scary stabilization both video side and photo, with the 12-60 f2.8-4 of Panasonic I managed to take photos up to 4" of freehand exposure inside a cave. The only downside is size and weight, very close to apsc reflex such as Canon's 80d.

Pros: all

Cons: nothing

Opinion: Purchased in 2018, I can now review. I left Pentax for good, the years pass and the weights become important. I was immediately attracted to the 4/3 format and so I decided. Since I dedicate exclusively to naturalistic photography, I use this machine body with the Panasonic 100-400mm for birdlife, insects and wild animals in general. The G9 is great, I'm not going to describe all the benefits I found in using it, in previous reviews they were expressly cited by everyone. Accustomed to Pentax with the 150-450mm, I feel like I'm shooting in the wild with a compact one. Aesthetically to someone it may seem bad to see a naturalist photographer with a photographic equipment 25 cm long, the little man with camouflage and the 50cm cannon is so attractive. After 2 abundant years of use, I began to have a problem with the handle. I always hold the car in my hand, I never used the strap, so in the heat of summer began to untie the protective rubber of the memory card housing door a little. In fact, this opening of the door is not very practical, the fact is that between the heat and the openings/closures, this has happened. This year I purchased a second G9 machine body, the use with Olympus 60mm macro that I already used for flowers and mushrooms and rarely the Panasonic 14mm for landscapes.

Pros: Well-balanced construction quality and grip, Tropicalization, UHS-II SD Dual slot, Fast burst and more than valid buffer, Stabilization (effective especially in video - DUAL IS2), excellent ergonomics with three rings and all programmable keys, lcd top, 4K 50/60p video without crop (limited to 10min), Internal 10bit video, multiple useful functions (pixel shift, stop motion, time lapse, slow motion 180fps, etc...), Price/performance ratio in 2020/21

Cons: AF Joystick does not move diagonally, EVF bearing distortion, lack of Autofocus settings in video (AF Custom Settings)

Opinion: A machine with professional features and rich in features that are not yet found in many machines even more expensive or with larger sensor. Sensor that works without too much trouble up to ISO 1600, going up in ISO value with good light you can work the files in post production with some compromise but careful to recover strong sub-exposures. Autofocus with instant and precise DFD contrast system in AF-S, fast and good in AF-C photo side but tied to the shooting framerate in the video (performance drops by connecting external HDMI), then advisable the use of panasonic native optics for maximum effectiveness. An excellent micro 4/3 machine for those who are already part of the system or for those looking for a particularly versatile tool for multiple Photo-Video uses with an excellent price and performance ratio (749€ Fowa discounted March 2021). Very good image quality obtainable with the right light optics when compared to larger formats and keeping an eye on the budget, taking advantage of the equivalent factor wherever possible. Dimensions that should not "scare" given the excellent handle against a lower weight of the GH5.

Pros: Professional performance in every sector, image quality at the top.

Cons: Maybe the size and weight, but you know when you choose it.

Opinion: It is a large device, pro in all senses, including tropicalization, expresses excellent image quality, with a well-modulated contrast. Very (sometimes too) sensitive shutter button, deadly autofocus, large and very sharp viewfinder, touch screen, adjustable and well defined. It grips well and handles perfectly. As I said it is a bit big and heavy, but they are known data at the time of purchase. Otherwise nothing to report.

avatarsenior

Pros: Great feeling of robustness. Several options that can be activated without switching from the menu.

Cons: Nothing.

Opinion: A few days ago I photographed a wedding, with the G9, the panaleica 12-60, flash positioned to the side on a handle and vertical grip. The latter allowed me to take more than 300 photos before switching to the battery inserted into the machine. The whole thing is very handy, maintaining a reasonable weight. A note on vertical grip, which is not the original one but is similar. I would have preferred it if instead of doubling the controls, which can cause confusion, it was a simple container of a pair of batteries in addition to the one inserted into the machine and had the possibility, via adapter, to use normal AA batteries. Years ago I had Canon vertical grip and AA batteries lasted for an infinite time, as well as having the confidence to always find them in case of need. The software of the machine, using the flash, is not deceived even by the presence of mirrors behind the subjects. As for the "noise" attributed to the 4/3 format I could never find it. It may be that I come from the era of film, but I never found myself in the need to use not the 25 thousand iso, but not even the 3200....For the wedding I set the limit to 400 iso, without even reaching it. Perhaps it will be necessary to use high sensitivities in the photo hunt at dusk....

Pros: Excellent quality construction, sensor and top processor for M4/3, many dedicated keys, excellent viewfinder, very sensitive and immediate shot, perfect for those who do naturalistic photography, shot in High Res of excellent quality, the 225 focus points guarantee greater accuracy when using automatic focus on the eye in portraits.

Cons: at first I thought it was exaggerated in size for M4/3, but I had to think again about the excellent handling. Superior display completely useless when without taking the eye off the viewfinder you have all the information available (perhaps inserted to attract those who come from the SLR world ?). The joistick does not move diagonally, but only vertically and horizontally.

Opinion: I have waited almost a year and many photos to give her a complete judgment, but to date it is definitely the M4/3 with the best value for money. My misgivings at the beginning about size and weight dissolved in use, especially shooting freehand with the 100-400 Pana proved perfect. As already written for the GX9, this Panasonic sensor and processor is significantly better than the one installed on the G7 and GH4 (which had disappointed me) both as sharpness in the finer details and dynamic range. The RAWs are very malleable and if they appear noisier than those of the EM5 II, they allow in the post an excellent noise reduction without penalizing the finer details. Always excellent the range of colors and shades that Pana manages to highlight in the images, probably with a basic contrast and a saturation not too pushed. If the High Res of the EM5 II had impressed me pleasantly, on the G9 it reaches a higher quality without ever showing artifacts even in the most minute details. Great stabilization, but still slightly less than the exceptional stabilization of the Oly. For me the G9 is the definitive confirmation that with the M 4/3 you can produce images of excellent quality whatever the photographic theme, who denies it is because it does not know how to photograph.

Pros: All. Compactness, stabilization, optical park, etc...

Cons: for now none

Opinion: Purchased after having several machines, for the moment I can only judge it really top. Robust, but compact, fast, stabilized as much as you can. Great to be equipped with a really interesting optical park (at normal prices) unlike other more emblazoned ones. Let's talk about leica, Lumix and Olympus optics. Battery life more than acceptable. Interesting double slot for memory. Surely the quality of the files is not that of a full frame, but depends on what you have to do. For amateur and semi-professional use is really na great nice machine. I use it. mostly for portraiture and landscapes and never missed a beat. Top!

Pros: Many from the tropicalization, to the many options it has for both videos and photos. For batteries no problem with a 6000mA powerbank in my pocket I made about 1800 photos

Cons: I agree with the previous post it causes addiction. He suffers a little at the low lights in the photos, less on the videos.

Opinion: After the purchase of the d750 I had not looked for anything else, but for months I was looking for a robust ml, valid, to make videos. I see in November that an update of the G9 fw had come out, carefully assessing that the g9 had become very good for everything. Since it is in my hands about 3000 shots and a few hours of footage I have found excellent stabilization. I conclude by saying that given the price is unparalleled.

Pros: Almost everything

Cons: Causes a certain form of addiction

Opinion: Purchased after months and months of comparisons with other machines. I use it for photo hunting with the 100 400 Panasonic, with which, also activating the digital zoom 4 X you can photograph and above all recognize the feathers from absurd distances (A MANO LIBERA!!!!) The machine is very fast, autofocus lightning, very efficient stabilizer, image quality, full of functions. Impression of robustness. I'm not an expert, but the first few days of use caused me a kind of emotional wave, so I think it's phenomenal. Absolutely satisfied with the purchase.

Pros: Quality Material, tropicalized, grip that allows you to keep it in your hand perfectly since we are talking about a mirrorless, display and viewfinder of excellent performance, very fast and full of incredible features, excellent stabilization, double SD, excellent menu Rings and perfect controls, excellent video quality and excellent files to work, beautiful final colors

Cons: The pictures are slightly noisy which might annoy people who love clean pictures

Opinion: I have an Olympus 1MKII and with this I have made a very good coupled because the AF of the G9 far exceeds that of the 1MKII in precision and the area with multiple points is adjustable as opposed to the 1MKII which instead is his head. If It was not precisely for the graininess of the files (not excessive clearly) would be perfect.

Pros: Quality construction, tropicalized, fantastic grip, display and viewfinder of excellent workmanship, very fast and full of pro functions, great stabilization, double SD, great menu and perfect controls, video quality and excellent files.

Cons: To be a micro 4/3 is a bit too big, but it is wanted, however I would have preferred it a little more compact.

Opinion: I went from the GX80, my first beloved 4/3 micro, to the G9 in a couple of days and I have to say that a world has opened up for me. The machine is fantastic, built beautifully and full of functions for all tastes. From my modest point of view, it is able to please the amateur photographer and the most demanding one. Personally compared to my "former little girl", I noticed a marked improvement in general usage, functions, ergonomics and file quality make it fantastic and the use is very pleasant. I do not find great problems with ISOs, I hardly go beyond 1600, and for that little bit I've seen so far it's doing very well, given the great stabilization of the slower body you can manage everything very well. Of course, at night and without an FF stand, it definitely has two more gears. I recommend it can be found in the used market at fair prices, for what offers including optical park, for me it is a bargain.

Pros: everything. Awesome sharpness, great jpg files. Immense functions, tropicalized... management noise that leaves open-mouthed

Cons: Just to find one:.......... slow motion only manual focus

Opinion: So... taken and returned almost immediately because the large variety of the menu had put me in crisis... so I returned to the Dony a6500... then I compared the files and nothing the G9 an infinite immensity... with the great kindness of the shopkeeper I resumed the Ginetta ( As I call it G9).. 6400 ISO on JPG absolutely perfect... stabilizer that allows you to shoot at 1 second.. Coupled with the Leica 12-60 is the top and does not need any fixed... a year ago I had the Nikon d610 (fullframe).. Believe me the Ginetta comes out winner in the confronto...se I have to find something that maybe not convinced me that the possibility to shoot the videos at 180 fps only in manual focus...ma the Ginetta was born for photography even if the video in 4k 60 fps is simply fantastic collection Ica. Pros: Exceptional quality and top of the range features.

Cons: Maybe a little big to be a mirrorless

Opinion: I tried it for about a month and I fell in love with it right away. I used it for photos (so much) and travel videos (a lot) and for me it is without a doubt the best mirrorless to date on the market. Would I buy it? If I had the budget and used it professionally, absolutely. For what I do, objectively, the G80 is enough and advances and, with equal optics, there is still talk of 800/1000 € less... It remains in any case a great car and the difference with the G80 you hear all. I've talked about this in depth also in this video https://youtu.be/-wTwSC1GkIs

Pros: Sensor without anti-aliasing filter with 5-axis stabilizer, extreme MAF speed and trekking efficiency, 4k and 6k photo sequences, 20 fps speed, solid construction and environmental sealing, responsiveness and versatility of functions and controls, high viewfinder 0.83 x resolution, upper display and articulated LCD display, image quality, pro solutions.

Cons: Decrease the functions of the video compartment compared to GH5 and GH5s. Size, for those looking for a more compact car.

Opinion: I am sure that in designing and realizing this machine the Panasonic technicians have listened to the needs of many photographers and have certainly not wanted to follow the commercial fashions of the moment. It is a machine that since the first contact is perceived as solid, well built and totally ergonomic. It has the biggest grip of its class and is one of the most comfortable of the whole reflex and mirrorless panorama. Obviously there is no perfect machine and each Fotograf @, according to your needs and experiences, look for the model and range that best can respond to work, fun and creativity. Well, coming from Canon, I still own a FF, I can say that this ML is really an excellent camera. The technological equipment of G9 is known and you just have to wander over the Internet to confirm. I remember here the excellent sensor without low pass filter from actual 20MB, the speed of MAF with 225 points fully modulable in shape, size and arrangement (joystick), the possibility of photographic sequences in 4k and 6k (4k with 60fps), shutter speed of 20fps in AFC mode, an incredible high resolution photo function with 40MB and 80MB of output file, 5-axis stabilized sensor that allows complete symbiosis with the stabilised OIS Lumix lenses up to a maximum of 6.5 stop. In short, many other technical and technological solutions that convinced me in the choice and then during the daily use. I use the format M43 and I am completely satisfied with it, considering it absolutely in line with the needs of a professional photographer. This machine is extremely devoted to photography and to the needs of a public that is certainly less interested in the video, but the video solutions are still present with the possibility of shooting in 4k, microphone and headphone connection, dual slot UHS-II card, Rechargeable battery directly in the car also from a power bank, etc. I was really impressed by the very high resolution feature that adopts sensor-shift technology to move the sensor in various directions and add the different densities into a single image for a truly remarkable increase in definition. A very good solution for images of architecture and Panorama. Very useful the high quality and brightness of the LVF Oled viewfinder with a magnification up to 0.83 X for an accurate focus both automatically and in manual and frequency at 120fps. Also appreciated the night mode for not stressing the view in low light conditions and the wide eyepiece for those who use glasses and anyway to facilitate the vision. To those who consider the format M43 immature or inadequate for professional photographic use I can only say that in the facts I feel to deny this statement, now seen the high technological and constructive quality of this standard, the excellent quality and Definition of images already in JPEG, the possibility of using very bright lenses and recognized optical properties, such as the Panasonic Leica series and the Olympus professional optics. As soon as possible I will join G9 with another pair of Leica lenses. Recently an upgrade of G9 firmware has been released (1.2) with further improvements to the speed of MAF and, among other things, a new creative filter in BN dynamic very appealing, even if I use these filters and digital effects very rarely. Even this continuity by Panasonic in constantly updating its products, especially high-end, is definitely an added value of Panasonic home.

Pros: Speed in use, commands to the right places, beautiful aesthetically, video quality although it was designed for fixed images.

Cons: 1600 ISO not to be exceeded for purists.

Opinion: Panasonic's Lumix G9 is a fantastic machine, I've been using it for almost a month and I can say that for me it is the best M. 4/3 camera ever made up to date. I first used an Olympus EM1 Mark 1 and a Nikon D600 but I must admit that as a practical use and speed of execution the G9 is ahead. I had a wedding and I had everything at hand (do you want to photograph in burst? Just turn the ring on the II, do not you want to make the click of the shutter during the ceremony in church? Nothing easier, etc... You do not need to enter the menus to call a function. In addition a technological gem. Beware, I'm talking from the perspective of a photographer not one who knows about video. Of course there is no perfect car but this G9 for me has everything I wanted.

Pros: -Video footage in 4k at 60 FPS-captivating aesthetics-analytical in terms of individual pixel definition-much higher than any other Panasonic-professional in terms of image results in case of large developments

Cons: -Impoverished Video of all profiles V-log-body too small without the expensive battery grip-park Micro 4/3 still immature

Opinion: Honestly, I reluctantly express a contested opinion. I expected a lot from this machine and I did not receive, I try to explain. There is no longer in my opinion, a net dividing line as in the past, between the professional photographer and the video-maker. There are certainly a number of specific professions and study processes, but real life and ordinary photographic services are not film sets. The great innovations brought by GH4 and GH5 have been with Centroentro mainly, on the freedom to choose the color palette of post production video. To avoid home competition, Panasonic has excluded these functions from G9 and this is unacceptable at similar prices. A camera body too small, it brings interesting functions like the 4k @ 60fps at bit rate of only 150mbs and ability to extract photographic frames from video in 6k very short... in practice, a burst renamed. Autofocus in video, best among all Panasonic, but not amazing compared to the G80 which costs a third. Its analytical capacity controversial. Hard and accurate pixels, but nothing compared to Sigma's foveon sensors. The yield is added in technical images and very mosaiked if magnied to full factor. Obviously suitable for sports and nature photography in fast movement. After a few months of use, I find myself reviewing the part of judgement in terms of the photographic compartment. The sharpness of the image points, if with low ISO, is remarkable and pleasing. The single point at which the sensor "sees" and translates the world, is precise and definite. The final effect on the perception of the shots: it is a great precision, due also to the speed of fire and shutter. The objective compartment in 4/3 is expanding and has an excellent price-performance ratio. A good choice then in the field of photography. For videos is fine, if you do not need 10bit and color grading in post production with neutral logs. The shutter angle is not possible to choose it as in GH4 and GH5, thereby denying a professional use in video field friend see.

Pros: Autofocus, screen, LCD top (saves a lot of battery), battery life, rechargeable batteries from Powerbank or directly in the room, extreme customization, post-focus, 20 fps or 30 in 6k mode, stabilization, dual slot, file quality Excellent and truly crisp, tropicalization, High resolution mode extraordinary

Cons: 150 and 180 fps only with MF, without audio, slowed down in the room and not with the highest quality,

Opinion: Born in the World M4/3 I made the switch from a EM10 MII to this beast with a captivating design and the size of reflex. The latter due, I believe, from the amazing Stabilization (6.5 stop), from the upper backlit LCD screen (a must-have for comfort and savings), double SD-slot) and from the battery with considerable autonomy (the same as Gh5 and with Patoa Pro, the one with the Green writings, enough €20). In addition to design also the technical features are at par with high level reflex\\mirrorless of Canon, Nikon and Sony, really good quality photos and videos. Obviously you have to be careful of the low light as you have to take into account that it is an M4/3 (in my parerefoto usable up to ISO 3200-6400). Improved in videos for exploitability at the video editing level (the video clips are Sony for example, although with higher bitrates are workable more easily) Caution: High resolution mode only on tripod because the stabilization is absent since it is Pixel-shifting officer. Only real flaw the slowmotion, seems to have been inserted so much for recreation, you should enter the 120 FPS feature with autofocus, sound-recording and without slowdown in the room.

Pros: Ergonomics, monitor on the top, file sharpness

Cons: Weight if compared to a mirrorless

Opinion: What a show!!! After a week end test (I'm undecided between the G9 and the Olympus M1 Mark II) I must admit that this mirrorless has conquered me. Literally. Ergonomics at maximum levels for those like me who have big hands, monitors on the top (as on SLRs) that I find very comfortable. Noise at the click almost inaudible, fast and precise autofocus and then the files... that sharpness!!! You think that in post-production, on the shadows, you recover almost 3 stops. Great!!!!

Pros: Autofocus like canon and nikon, professional real-finger controls at your fingertips, upper display to avoid the use of the monitor, monitor that can be oriented in all directions and resealable to protect it. alloy body, but featherweight, battery with the same size as the canon 7d or 5d with greater consumption, very good files in the micro context 43

Cons: But it is really impossible to think of such a valid device with already integrated the battery pack ???. The G9 does not have a panasonic software and offers a program in English that is better to forget, really bad considering the great technological result of the G9. I found a defect ...: If you use the cable for remote shooting ...., ouch, ouch, the video part and not the photos in sequence, I tried in the store and so on all the machines. Alert panasonic, so they can intervene ...

Opinion: Who ordered it by December 23, pecked the free battery pack for free. Trusting the review I saw and heard, I ordered it and January 18, had already arrived. It took me a little to understand how to use it because it seemed to have a professional canon or nikon, with commands at your fingertips and superior diplay with the essential indications that we know there are on other machines. Excellent management of the menu that you can then bring back to the keys as you like and depending on how you use it. After a few shots around, I tested it in the sports field (rugby) and I realized I bought what I was looking for, a lightweight car but with prof performance, in fact the autofocus of this G9 is to be compared to the best system canon , precise to hook the subject without then losing it on the street. Fantastic also the burst that can reach 20 ftgsec with a very low error rate. In the context of the micro 43, there is a choice of very wide optics of excellent workmanship with also leica or olympus schemes that, together with the panasonic, offervery wide choice. Of the file, I can only say that it does not seem better than the flagship olympus, but this machine still has room for improvement. The electronic viewfinder returns an almost reflex vision for image quality. The menu is very rich, but has no absurd things and allows you to create settings of all types and tastes, which can then be returned to external keys that make the machine easy to use. excellent eyepiece that covers the eye in the sun. To buy it costs 1700 euros, much less than the OMD 1 MK II olympus which costs 2000 euros.
