Pros: Handy, well tropicalized

Cons: Made in China

Opinion: I had two: the first one died at 12 thousand shots; The second with the upper ring running empty, at the time repaired as a guarantee, but the defect is back. At 37,000 shots the screen started at any moment. Many photos, when used during services, even in jpeg were not saved on the card. I thought it was a board issue, but I still use it on 5D III today and I've never had a problem. I think it depended on me taking a lot of single shots in a matter of seconds, maybe using the burst, I would have solved, but I don't like burst shots. Raw light, but with little information, so much so that at one point I preferred to set it in jpeg. I don't know if I was unlucky, but from my experience I can say that they are good machines, but that they do not make work in peace because you always have the anxiety that you can break something, or that the photos are not saved. They are well-designed machines, which if they were built in Japan, would have split the market

Pros: Full of programmable keys, tropicalization, stabilization, RAW quality, vast optical park, autofocus, price on used.

Cons: High ISO management, JPEG quality, new price, awkward settings menu, grip for those with big hands like me, low sensor resolution

Opinion: It is the second micro 4/3 camera I purchased, the first was a lower-end Panasonic, but newer. This Olympus is built like a tank, it is almost indestructible, tropicalization is also felt on weight, although it is not excessively large or heavy (indeed, with my hand the little finger remains out of the handle, and is often uncomfortable). The photo quality is great, even today in 2021, if taken in RAW and not at more than 1600 ISO. Autofocus is crazy, although by today's standards it doesn't have many MaF points. Its strength side is a hybrid AF, with both phase and contrast detection, also for this reason it is possible to mount with the appropriate adapter all olympus reflex 4/3 optics and use them as native, native optics that are many and there are for all tastes and price ranges. Another thing I really like about this room is the amount of programmable keys, they are really many and allow you to "sew the machine on you", but good luck if you want to understand something about how to set them, given that the menu is set very badly and translated even worse, on par if not worse than the first Sony mirrorless. The sensor is a 16 megapixel, it's fine for social media or regular prints, but if you want a bigger print or want to crop the photos, they become few. Also exceeded the 1600 ISO the files that this camera produces are almost unusable, especially JPEG, the RAW is recoverable, but do not expect a good level of detail. I will conclude by saying that if you buy it used on the 350/400 euros it is absolutely worth it, it is an excellent room to have something more compact than a reflex, but equally quality and resistant, perhaps alongside a beautiful fixed lens open, it will give you a lot of satisfaction.

Pros: Body small and light machine, but at the same time very "pro". Great jpeg. Autofocus fast and responsive, in relative terms (compared to other m4/3) and absolute (compared to the SLRS possessed). It looks very nice.

Cons: At the high iso the sensor begins to show "the rope"... and the differences with the larger FF sensors are shown.... The WB automatically does not always "recommend" well, even when the light conditions are not particularly difficult....

Opinion: At the "machine-to-hold-in-hand" level, we're really at the top. Small but not too much, light, very ergonomic (it falls in the hand very well...... much better than the Sony A7 that I also own and with which it basically shares the size and weight), to the touch and use you immediately feel, "skin", that it is a "pro" body.... never the feeling of photographing with a toy, but always with a very efficient "real" camera. The jpeg files are really good and worthy of special mention: you just need a little attention in the initial setting of the WB: the one in "car" not always "c'just" correctly... Once this preliminary attention has been received, the EM1 pays for the (few) seconds lost by churning out jpeg F A V O L O S I !!!! In fact, in most cases, it becomes almost useless any post, as equally (almost) useless would be the work on the file counterpart saved in raw, since the jpeg "conversion" in the room is really great. I also had EP3, EP5, EPM2 and Panasonic GX1 and GX7: the jpeg, in the EM1, are a notch higher, for overall yield, of all these. The Autofocus is fast and precise... Then... Sure.... the limits of the 4/3 sensor are there, they know each other..... it would not even be correct to ask the machine what you know well at the start will not be able to give. Used with the zuiko 45 1.8 and with the sigma 56 1.4 becomes an excellent compact and lightweight "portrait camera", to be really taken "everywhere". Maybe my D700 with sigma 85 1.4 manages to peel off a little more and make it a little better at the high iso....... but at the price of how much more weight to carry with it!!!!! Paradoxically, I recommend buying this first version, rather than the most recent, in the sense that it has reached a very affordable value for money. Maybe not "intons", with some signs, you can take it home even with just over 200 euros.......

Pros: Handling, Stabilization, Functions, Af

Cons: 16 mpix

Opinion: This is my third Em1 I own... not because the previous ones had been damaged. Simply because I tried other bodies over the past few months but in the end or out of habit or because it was really more ergonomic, I preferred the Olympus. First of all, the die that surrounds the shutter button... allows you to reset the desired settings and shoot almost at the same time; that's something I love. Then the stabilization that makes each lens stabilized. It works very well and from a breath of modernity even to lenses of 30/40 years! Despite the not-so-fresh project [dating back to 2013] it has interesting features such as live composite to play with the shales of lights in certain situations without bringing the overexposed photo and above all combines the photos automatically without posts, focus stacking to increase the depth of field when we do macro photos. Autofocus which is very fast and accurate, obviously improves with pro lenses. If you don't have particularly big hands it's ideal... all the controls fall in to the brush unlike other machines that I tried (sony a7II/III) where the extreme compactness of the body, made my hand take such a position that it then brought me pains to the same. The surrender to the high iso may not be the best... maybe also because you have to be careful how you edit the photo in post production... all in all acceptable. It has "only" 16 mpix that could be enough but if you tend to make photo clippings, they are a little bit... All in all it still defends well, for those who approach the m4/3 system is ideal.

Pros: Quality, price, ergonomics, compactness, stabilization.

Cons: High ISO...

Opinion: Purchased used, out of curiosity, for a few months. Initially disappointed because I compared it with the cameras that Possseggo and on some sectors just there are no comparisons; Especially on operating speed and high ISO. Slowly, however, using it intensely, I began to appreciate it; Ergonomics and dimensions (and weight) has no rivals, the raw files are excellent and well machinable, the stabilization is exceptional, the focus is not the best but enough and advances... A complete car with which you can cover a little ' all the fields of photography. The use gladly with Nikon optics is astounding to me how much it dimediates the minimum focusing distance compared to the SLR cameras. Too bad for the high ISO (accustomed to the d3s) and some other smallness that however does not penalise it. Also excellent weather sealing. Highly recommended, rated 9.

Pros: Value for money, enjoyment in the shooting phase, construction, system, stabilization

Cons: Little Intuitive Menu

Opinion: A comfortable, beautiful and reliable car. I had it coupled to the 12 40 2.8 pro and together they form a versatile and solid pair. You never get the feeling that something can break unlike the a7r2 that I had the opportunity to try. Currently I think it is the perfect machine for the holidays of total relaxation, because, with a good tripod maybe, allows you to do everything and do it well and I think, in the "genre" relaxing holidays, has no rivals! The Olympus system is really excellent and economical and to exploit it at best you have to understand the strengths of the microquattroterzi that I assure you are more than those you think. We go to the money side, to this day I for a car in excellent condition with few shots and guarantee I would not spend more than 500 euros otherwise I would be between 400 (for the Catorci) and 470 (for the excellent conditions). Rated considering the value for money and the oly system I would say an 8 and a half considering the camera body itself I would say 7.

Pros: Aesthetics, speed, stabilized

Cons: Cervellotico Menu, many keys in little space can create problems in large hands.

Opinion: Snubbed for years the M4/3, thanks to an exchange I tried the EM1. It has nothing to envy to other formats. Using adapters you can use old 4/3 or old manual optics that become stabilized. Functions that others only discover now. Now in the used it is at a favorable price and with little you bring home a great car. Be combined with good lenses. Not being my primary system I opted for savings. The 4/3 12-60 Swd 2.8-4 (excellent) via adapter and the Sigma Art 60mm f 2.8. It costs 2 lire used and is mind-blowing for portraits. Sure if you have to take from testing to monstrous magnifications and to ISO fiction you will find some difference with new models. In practice normally used between 200 and 800 iso None, I repeat, no one is able to grasp the differences.

Pros: Quality of files, quality and materials of machine body, functions, keystroke layout and customization, viewfinder, zuiko optics

Cons: I must say that it is the first time that I find myself in the fight but not find them, honestly

Opinion: I bought the EM1 shortly after the release of the mark II, at a more than good price, and with 0 shots. The car body looks beautiful and extremely robust, tropicalized very well (it has taken a lot of water), the stylus of the keys is excellent: you have everything, but just everything, at your fingertips, the menu opens it once and then never again. It has several more intuitive internal functions, such as live composite, with 5-axis stabilization that is extremely functional. The handle is great, even for hands as large as mys, with the addition of bg or just the bracket Optional "L" becomes perfect. The quality of the files is superb, even for medium prints with its 16mpixel is more than enough. Using a 12 40 f2.8, and more and more often leaving my d750 at home, not only because of the remarkable saving of weight and space due to microscopic zuiko optics but exceptional for quality, but also because, at the end of the fair, ninthbecause of the difference between the two sensors (ff is double the m43), the result of the small omd is amazing. Also advised by professionals, and now that it is at low prices, it is worth investing us some money because, I repeat, it is a exceptional machine at all points of view.

Pros: All

Cons: It does not make the coffee ... poor battery life, but it's not such a big deal

Opinion: Nikonist convinced as ever, in the last 2 years have passed from D90, D300s and D700 then. The latter would have to be my point of arrival, also to be able to take advantage of the manual lenses Nikkor I owned for years. In all these steps, however, I continued to keep an eye on this Olympus system that intrigued me a lot, but at the same time did not convince me at all. Then I realized that the D700, despite being a fantastic car is also a good lug to lug around his neck; with the rest of the equipment I arrived at almost 6 kilograms, too much for my back. So I decided to take the step ... I sold everything and I took this little gem of E-M1 with 3 optics and 2 kg poor has replaced the old equipment. What to say? uncompromising quality, spectacular files up to 5000 ISO, unknown handling the full frame SLR ... who could ask for more?

Pros: Beauty. Speed. Precision. tropicalized

Cons: The menu is to be studied and the battery (even if it is a solvable problem by buying more batteries)

Opinion: In my amateur point of view, I found the right car for me. I was born with Canon and are then passed to Olympus om-d10mark2. I liked a lot the vintage style and to learn how I thought it would be enough. That said, my passion is nature photography and Canon 9 of 10 photos I were well especially in the search for animals. With 10 second mark, the first photos of 10 I was pretty well ... The other throwaway. Demoralized I went on the purchase of the flagship of the house and I went back to the quality I was used: 10 I miss one, and it's my fault because I still have to learn a lot. I state that certainly in a few years the obstacles that I have found from experience with 10mark2 I could not find them or know how to overcome, but already now, in comparison, I went back to get my fill. A nice car and touch even more. Performing. Always under my subjective judgment, fast autofocus and rapid shooting. Very fun to use. A very good navescuola. The really recommend it to everyone. I firmly believe on my investment made

Pros: 5-axis stabilization, ergonomics, vast park optics and micro 4/3, robust and tropical conditions, relationship quality price.

Cons: Nessunorn

Opinion: Hello to all from a bit 'of time I was studying what machine to buy to replace my 1100D. RNLA My first intention was to stay on and take the Canon 80d, but after trying the discarded it because of the weight and footprint, not excessive is clear but coming from a 1100D seemed very heavy, so I thought I'd go to the mirrorless and I of her and fell in love with the Fuji machines XT10 in particular, just testing it and seeing it live me I look just like a machine, for charity makes great pictures but honestly I did not spend a lot of 700/800 euro for a car that looks like a toy, I needed something "robust" for that price, so my eye fell on OLYMPUS and its image stabilizer and reading the forum I was persuaded by Micro4 / 3 system so I find on offer a omd em-1 to 630euro on solodigitali and I took it without thinking about it, the result is that I found myself with a MACHINE LADY is ergonomically perfect beautiful, robust andppena you turn it on, you see right away that it is a professional machine !! So I wanted to thank everyone for making me spend my money, in the best and pointing me with your forum is convinced with your photos, to enter the world OLYMPUS.Ora I just have to learn to photograph seriously using this school called e-m1 !!

Pros: The electronic viewfinder enables you to preview the final result of the shot which allows you to take less and better, especially in terms of the correct exposure. Functions as the focus peaking and automatic magnification of the image with manual focus are very practical for those who enjoy macro or simply using analog optical. Many function keys and so many features for those who like to experiment (time-lapse for example). compact and robust body. impressive continuous shooting. LCD rear touch. Ability to utilize with satisfaction the objectives of the 4/3 system. Quiet shutter release very useful but does limit the iso 3200 and suffers greatly certain types of artificial lights that leave obvious image bands.

Cons: less battery life by 50% compared to an SLR, non-tilting rear LCD that in many situations instead could use, AF does not equal a reflex especially in CA. Slow to resume business after going into stand-by. Council to extend the time of the stand-by if you want to avoid losing another moment, against the battery will last even less. You can not shoot remotely with remote control but only through smartphone apps, uncomfortable.

Opinion: fantastic car for portability and functions. Combined with the 14-150 is a perfect travel companion. I have some goals of the 4/3 system that work very well and it saved me from having to redo the optical park from scratch. I purchased with the 12-40 2.8 in November 2015, and excluding the failure of a ring, however, repaired under warranty, only now begin to appreciate it fully. It takes time to become familiar with all the function keys and find the best configuration based on your shooting habits. For now, than the E-620 that utlizzavo earlier, I miss only the swiveling LCD screen, allowing shots from any position, while that of the EM1 tilts lengthwise only. Can not shoot a dome of a church, for example, unless you use the connection to your smartphone, but it's a feature that I find little use, I only have two hands, and it is complicated to move the car and phone together in search of the right composition. Also it lacks the ability to use a remote control to remotely shots obbligandomi to use the app for the smartphone (and then to have one after smartphone, always load).

Pros: Ergonomics, practicality, lightness, portability, tropicalization

Cons: Menu to be studied

Opinion: They went from Canon 7D with 24-70 and 70-200 f2.8 f4 to this Olympus OM-D EM1 with 12-40 and 40-150 f2.8 Pro. I feel good, although I have to get used to the menu and various keys. The weight has been halved, but the quality has remained comparable to Canon. I find very useful with the manual focus can enlarge the subject so as to adjust in the best way the focus. rnCon the vintage lenses there is no comparison with the Canon. Olympus for me to win, thanks to the "peak", which allows you to display in live view from the viewfinder and display the subject in red or white so as to focus more effectively. rnSono glad I did this "leap" category.

Pros: image quality, customization of keys, ergonomics, performance at high ISO, excellent optical park and all courses

Cons: Menu a bit "tangled"

Opinion: I am very satisfied with my EM-1 after purchasing the EM-10. For both the same holds true: I'm happy with my move to micro 4/3 after arriving there from Nikon 1.rnLa EM-1 system has a professional look and is customizable in every way to the point of being confused with the various customizations . I say this because it is only recently that I have it and I'm sure in time it will all be semplice.Apprezzo in photographs in theaters, finely tuned sound as well as good performance at high ISO. always shoot in ORF and I find the excellent files from all points of vista.rnBuona the single focus, the AFC slightly worse. The touch menu I find it convenient as well as the hinged screen that allow you to steal shots in places where it is better to act in secret. To remedy the low battery seal, I bought another second party that works to perfection.

Pros: Easy to handle, lightweight and tropical conditions.

Cons: when no cons, having just purchased.

Opinion: I was looking for a lightweight camera handy and at the same time professional. I have always used Canon 60D 50D and was looking for the note something more 'lightweight seen that whenever I moved around for some photo I had to bring my chili attrezzatura.penso to have solved the problem with the Olympus, however,' for the moment I still have the test seriously. at the moment we only have the standard 12-40 lens but I'm waiting for 60 macro.certo the optics are very expensive but if you want great objectives you have to spend as any camera (see Canon the best optical park are very particularly the L series expensive)

Pros: ergonomics (with grip). good optical park. Now there is also the 300! I feel very good color rendering

Cons: noise than 1600 - just large files, if you make a cut ...

Opinion: I have this machine for a month and I state that not much shooting. I'm finding it quite well anyway. the biggest problems I've got with the AF-c to hook the doves in flight between the buildings (I'm doing tests to learn how to use it, do not laugh). the colors seem to me excellent and immediately ergonomics seemed perfect. The strike me as excellent targets (for now I have a 40/150 2.8 pro, a 12/40 pro 2.8 and 1.4 x). With the weight that has all the equipment is back the desire to stand around for so many hours.

Pros: A mirrorless on a par with a professional relflex. At the top in customization, each key can be configured at will. Silent continuous shooting at 11 fps, unique in the category. Stabilization and sensor cleaning. Great firmware.

Cons: 16 Megapixels are just enough, no longer competitive with the latest 24-36-48 Megapixel APS-C mirrorless and relfex or Full-Frame. For nature photography takes a lot of experience with the camera as the continuous autofocus AF-C is sometimes slow to keep up with the subject, especially with telephoto lenses Sigma AF 135-400 or "Bigma" 50-500mm with 4/3 attack, not on par SLR pro with the same optical Sigma, especially shots from 10fps. battery life, approximately 350 shots, you need at least 2-3 portarsene behind escort. Lack of bright super-telephoto designed for m4 / 3, you have to settle for the "Bigma" Sigma 50-500mm f4-6.3 born to the "old" to use on digital SLR Olympus E-M1 with the MMF-3 adapter. One SD card slot. noticeable noise after 1600 ISO.

Opinion: As a nature photographer, after years of using Nikon cameras (D300s) and Olympus (E-5) from 2014, with the disappearance of the E-5, they moved permanently to using professional lens mirrorless SLR Olympus. The beginning was difficult, with the transition from optical viewfinder to the electronic viewfinder, using a lot of electronics than the mechanical "classic" of SLR, telephoto lenses (especially the Sigma 50-500mm or 135-400mm) do not respond with the same speed that they have when using the E-5, using SD cards in one slot compared to the two CF card slots with the E-5. In short, the first few months have been somewhat problematic to release professional photos from my E-M1. Today, after two years of exclusive use, 110,000 shots and after having carefully studied three manuals including "Mastering the Olympus OM-D E-M1" and "Olympus OM-D E-M1 Guide" I was able to give his best in Wildlife photography with Sigma canvas and configure the E-M1 in order to have less problems in the slowness of 'AF in AF-C continuous operation with sequential shooting at 10fps (albeit attenuated, the problem still remains). Impeccable for static, picture perfect subjects. The version 4.1 firmware makes the E-M1 a concentration of electronics. Very convenient for those who do nature photography finely tuned sound mode continues to 11 fps, to be envied by those who use SLR. Certainly the slow pace of engagement of the subject (especially birds in flight) continuous autofocus (AF-C) by using the "old" objectives 4/3 with the MMF-3 adapter weighs an important role especially for those who do nature photography, but the build quality of the E-M1, the weight of about 400 grams (by mounting the Sigma 50-500 will get to 2.3 Kg) it allows you to take "to" neck for several hours professional equipment for Wildlife, unthinkable SLR with APS C or Full-Frame.

Pros: Ergonomics, colors, sight, size, stabilization on the sensor excellent, weather sealing, high quality Zuiko kit (also classic 4/3)

Cons: software clunky, battery management to fully review

Opinion: Almost perfect machine. For the second, and finally, I went back to Olympus. The image quality is fantastic, the operating speed and excellent ergonomics outstanding. And 'crazy hold a machine so compact and will hear, again, perfectly fitting with all the controls in the right place (with the additional handle, but so now is always free). The management of the two rings is perfect, and through the switch 1-2 is like having 4: Olympus as always trace the way, the others follow. As per tradition, the sensor is NOT dirty ever, stabilization is phenomenal. Certainly not the dynamic range of a D800, but honestly it does not matter, the files are nice, workable and take great high ISO. If you consider the shape of its lenses, used at maximum aperture due to the high DOF you can always exploit to their advantage all available light. The only thing that leaves a bad taste in the mouth is the management software of the double battery: it is impossible to know which of the two inserted refers the only icon displayed on the display (no chain two huh?) and that if combined with the use of more bodies at the same time, creates a lot of confusion. I solved the problem by using ONLY the battery in the handle, easier to extract and with the certainty that the indicator refers only to it. Autonomy, it is true, is not very high, but the batteries are small and compact. It does not mean it's bad to think a little more and take a little less. Great machine.

Pros: Tutti..leggera..impugnatura beat grip with nothing short of wonderful.

Cons: Perhaps battery with little autonomy

Opinion: One day I went to my friend photographer who sells Olympus ... (I state that I come from canon 5dmark 3 ..ottiche professional as 16/35. F4 70/200 f2.8 canon mark ii and lots of other stuff that has always made me fun ... !!) and I said look qui..mi opens a couple of jpeg files on tablet ... two photos of roma nothing short of spectacular ... I tell canon 14 mm ??? But look here ... I by holding the omd 1 with the 12/40 pro ... I almost laugh to see her so small .. Well what about ... On I make two shots in 2.8 to see the blurred and sharpness wide open ... Stunned !!! Jpeg files ready opens sale !!! Okay then held the high Iso ... The text now to 1600..3200..6400 iso! Oh but here there is a faint noise !!!!! Since then it has been 2 days and I have completely emptied the closet of kilograms of Canon ... And now that I have passed already four months in a 2 kg super professional equipment from wide angle to super telephoto, and the only difference I got well made a nice trip !!!

Pros: Small.

Cons: Serious problems of light points, the limit dell'inutilizzabile, bokeh artifact in software, greenish tint in some situations.

Opinion: The worst camera I've ever owned, attracted by the reviews more exciting that I purchased what on paper and the reviews had to be a gem, after a day of excitement the first great disappointment. Points of light are created ghost flare embarrassing flaw common to sony a7, then after a few shots, I noticed something unknown to me if not in smartphones with the app blurred background, the bokehrn especially if you shoot at the minimum focusing distance is a fire digital artifact is not from the lens that is used, a very bad thing, I add also a strange greenish tint which manifests itself in a few clicks, one of the biggest disappointments cameras. Too expensive for what offers, battery ridiculous, added to other difettacci do not do anything but sconsigliarla, much better than a Nikon D3200.

Pros: Sensor (optimally sized and high quality), 10 fps burst, construction, quality of the file (to say the least surprising), 5-axis stabilization in the room, weight, available buttons, tropicalization, general ergonomics.

Cons: Camera menu a bit 'messy and not easy to consult, too many modes "scenes" absolutely useless to you then seriously (even if it was for me leverei video modes and wifi), suffers a bit' (but very little) above 1600 iso (anything that is not ovviabile with a very slight editing), working in burst mode the battery grip is necessary because the battery has a very limited time.

Opinion: It states that from Nikonist (since 1983) I was very skeptical towards Olympus and more generally to the mirrorless. Seated next to my Nikon the impression it gives is that of a toy, but when you put the switch "on" the music changes quickly the EM 1 pulls out his teeth and, coupled with the 12-40 f2.8 PRO (actually the focal length is multiplied by 2, then a 24-80), bakes really incredible things that have nothing to envy to FF (Testing with Nikon D700 and 24-70mm f2.8). In summary the OM D EM 1 is a "toy" that can confront perfect beyond belief with the FF large blazon. Zuiko lenses (and Nikonist historian I am very sorry to say) as quality have nothing to envy to the top of the range Nikon with infinitely lower prices (see for yourself the range f 2.8 PRO! 12-40 and 40-150). Findings absolutely positive both for amateurs (evolved) and professionals some friends photographers are in fact using the OM D EM 1 with extreme satisfaction.

Pros: perfect !!! ergonomics, construction, stabilizer 5-axis, tropicalization total, lightweight

Cons: do not stop, perhaps the manual a bit 'poor, and that the battery has a low battery.

Opinion: well after trying Nikon, Pentax, Fuji I returned home and OLYMPUS ho bought back em1. what to say? the pros know them all, even though few, however, is against the house in addition to innovate machinery produces really high quality optics and equally amazing especially the pro series. produces files dare I say that already bele ready, then eventually just as easy as workability. Another pro not least portability, colors and etc. etc.. in short, fully satisfied and I would recommend this machine along with the other to those who want to have these advantages.

Pros: Perfect, versatile and fast focus, light and practical.

Cons: The battery has a range too low. I agree with other opinions on the lack of clarity of the user manual.

Opinion: As a photography enthusiast, I switched from Canon 60D to the Olympus OM-D E-M1 and not regretted it. In the photograph inside the theaters I find the versatility of the Olympus above the Canon 60D. The goals of the Olympus 12-40 mm and 40-150 mm F 2.8. Pros: JPEG incredible; focus and shutter speed; maneuverability.

Cons: too much useless and unusable; Battery life is unacceptable; instruction booklet that hieroglyphs are a joke of simplicity, in comparison!

Opinion: It's a beautiful car, no doubt about it. The picture quality and versatility make it a desirable object for photographers who will not want to leave without her! It gives me the impression, however, that Olympus is testing the public to understand where to place them: otherwise I can not explain the presence of those terrible artistic filters and scene settings (portraits, children, fireworks, night ...) on a camera you want to trim an important place in the Pro. In my opinion there are too many features that unnecessarily clog up the menu, making it quite difficult, and perhaps have complicated the lives of those who have made an instruction manual so incomprehensible and repetitive! I have noticed one thing: the time adjustment is only "hours and minutes", no seconds. When you need to synchronize with another machine such as photos of events this lack seems important to me ... I hope to Provide in the next firmware.

Pros: Excellent image quality, stabilizer, practicality.

Cons: Controls scenes pre programmed unnecessary

Opinion: My want to be just a small opinion not having had great experiences with the Nikon D300 digital SLR importanti.Arrivo (which is the only one that I owned and of which I have never fallen in love), and the difference can be seen, and how! The quality is excellent already in jpeg and practicality makes from padrona. All'inizio you have any difficulty in remembering the usefulness of the keys (actually little ones but inevitably proportional to the size of the device) but with whom, within a short time and using it frequently, we take familiar rapidamente.E given the quality of the E-M1, in fact, I find it completely unnecessary pre-set scene modes (with a little program any of PP can be applied later) .The only that can be useful, or at least have a sense, is the mode "panorama" that is apprezzabile.Probabilmente I find them useless for my needs but, being in the hands of such a device, the "appearance" professional, seems to aver bought a phone evoluto.rnChiudendo eyes on this juncture, it will make them open on images shot worthy of attention for them, I repeat, quality.

Pros: Build quality, mirio electronic, advanced features, size, speed af-s, wb precise, jpg ready

Cons: Af-c is not yet up to the SLR, lasting batteries, included software not up

Opinion: What can I say, I use it almost every day, has become a faithful companion like no other machine that I have or have had. A pleasure in every sense. Pay a bit 'in the file than the fuji I possess, but not much. Recommended for professional uses also not fast acceleration. Give jpg of very real and ready to use. With bgrip resolves the problem batteries but is lost in portability. The viewfinder sometimes makes me forget to be electronic but in low light loses a bit '.

Pros: Construction quality, electronic viewfinder fabulous

Cons: Battery life (but now they give you the grip), menu a bit 'clunky

Opinion: For almost a year I have supplied a substantial fleet Olympus (Stylus1 OM-D-M5 and the OM-D-M1) which I can only speak well with regard to innovation and quality in general, but especially for the "portability" of the entire system, the technical aspects, which I share, you find them widely well exposed in previous reviews. This machine is in direct competition with the reflex midrange (eg. My Canon 70D) is currently proposed 1,950 € in kit with the fabulous 12-40 f 2.8 (alone costs almost € 1,000) and grip HLD 7 tribute more, a voucher of € 200 for the purchase of a further goal, you do the math. Compared to younger sister OM-D-M5 is more "SLR-like" for technical characteristics, type of handle, keys and size, it maintains however, in my opinion, the best price / performance for those who, having already an SLR , wants to adopt a valid alternative "travel". If you want one machine and you have to choose between SLR (acertain range), and this probably know that this will always be with you while the reflex sometimes will stay at home.

Pros: Robust - tropical conditions - Ergonomic - fast accurate AF - excellent stabilizer - EVF large and crystal clear

Cons: the latest ISO 1600 - Battery Life

Opinion: The best machine I've ever used and I have used many (D700 - D800 - D600 - M9 - Sony A7 - Fuji X-Pro1 etc. Etc.), It takes a bit 'of time and patience to figure out the m43 and above how to manage your files and if you have patience this E-M1 will repay you with excellent image quality, but above all with the ability to shoot anywhere, anytime. This is the jewel in the crown of a system that will not and can not offer the quality of a FF, the m43 is a system made to be light, handy and always ready for use thanks to its dimensions. The E-M1 is the first and currently only mirrorless really complete: AF fast and precise, the best image stabilization available today, build quality excellent, truly tropical conditions (better than the E-M5 I had before) completely customizable, perhaps rnUna machine too ... which I highly recommend to anyone looking for practicality, lightness and efficiency; anyone who is aware that the image quality is not the only thing imcarrier, especially since it's rather a good picture of a potentially excellent but not taken ... (because supermegareflex is at home in the cupboard).

Pros: everything in half ...., weight, size, sensor (compared to ff), price, optical system with 43 become amazing (there is a 500mm 2.8 has no manufacturer). Ability to use a smartphone (app Olympus) as a remote control and set the machine vision dell'immaggine x.

Cons: noise at low ISO (1600 and up). Machine weight with unbalanced optical pro, too many menus that take time to learn how to handle them x ex last the battery lasts a very short time that it is better to have a spare pair (the fault of the fully electronic system that continuously consumes the energy of the small battery). From a little annoyed by the delay of the image through the viewfinder electronic processes that vision real.

Opinion: Proven x one week, I immediately put back to the wall ...., time low and iso low at night and interior and then not happy, lho mantata on a telescope at the moon x photo and fauna in precarious conditions of light . You will be surprised how much quality has this flagship of the Olympus, a fast and precise autofocus, impressive speed of the sequence in continuous shooting (10 FTSEC.) That without the mirror, and with a little shake-are effective, excellent stabilizer built on the sensor, well the jpg file is that raw (orf olympus x) with bright and vivid colors and contrasts as well balanced in terms of light and shadow. The position of the sensor almost flush with the bayonet, produces an increase in brightness such that photos taken in dark areas, very readable in detail and in need of a few iso. The only drawback ..., even in the presence of noise ... are already at low asa you notice about magnification of 100%, but we are talking about a sensor that is half of the full-frame and then the car is unbalanced with optical pro (I tried it with the 12-40 f2.8). Detto this, the EM1 Serbian omd the icing with long lenses, where a 300 mm f2.8, it becomes a fantastic 600 f 2.8 (who has a similar focus??) that could become a duplicator with 1200mm f5, 6. ... but weighs only 4.5 kg total (basically use it freehand). If you're not one of those who make prints from walls (then use the canon or nikon), then this is a good alternative because of its price, there is also much that is almost half of the proffessional also in weight. Replace everything with olympus maybe it is not the case, but it close with a normal SLR kit, it might be in many cases a perfect second car and perhaps even more.

Pros: Compactness of the body, building, stabilization, image quality in jpg, colors very vivid and real thing that I did not get with the Canon 5D mark II if not processing the file. Speed ??focusing. Take a 10pfs per second. Objectives of the highest quality.

Cons: Known a bit too much noise even at low ISO, it will be that I was used to the full frame, but known this. Not great for enlargements excessive and therefore x photo editing. rnSensore micro four thirds but more than one is against a choice of Olympus.

Opinion: I bought the E-M1, x have a small and compact body and higher quality. I was very skeptical to say the truth, so much so that I've been waiting a long to make the move from the 5D mark II at Olympus. Then I have and I am convinced, and I bought the body + 12-40 pro. I must say that by far the most positive thing is the fact that most do not take it off from the neck and the port everywhere, so rediscovering the desire to do any type of photography, which I did not do with the 5D mark ii, Only because I used the only in the studio saw his excessive weight. The car is gorgeous, the handle does not regret my old Canon Tropicalised better than the 5D mark II I, the display basculabile is very convenient for any type of shot. ditto the touch-screen. High sharpness of the images. 5-axis stabilization to scream, especially in the video! Only because I do not know but I find the noise even at ISO low enough enlarging the photo, but I must say that beats full frame modern XKE holds up very well to 3200 ISO, where the noise known only bigger. is a machine pazzesca. Park optics of the highest quality! I took the 12-40 is very solid and I do not regret the Canon 24-70. rn

Pros: Compact and lightweight; stability (waaay more than the E-P5); effective system of stabilization (though the 75-300 at 300 mm worth a bit '...); image quality, especially in raw; exposure, white balance and colorimetry practically perfect; af-s fast and accurate, not hardly ever misses a shot (but only with the objectives Zuiko ...).

Cons: The manual focus is not very easy (preferably the Fuji-X T1); lack of autonomy of the battery (up to 400 shots from my experience); lack of levers and dials directed at your fingertips for basic functions such as time and iso.

Opinion: Using the system for years Canon (1D MII, 30D, 5D MII) and Sigma (SD10, SD15, SD1 Merrill), then I have had a hand in Oly E-PL1 and I savored the system m4 / 3. I bought almost everything: the E-P5 have given back to the lack of grip, I kept the E-M5, E-M1 and G1 and the Panasonic GH3 with the objectives 12-40 2.8, 75 1.8, 45 1.8 , Lumix 20 1.7, 40-150, 14-150, 75-300, 14-45 Lumix, Lumix 35-100, Sigma 60 Art .. I also bought bodies and objectives 4/3 used (E-5, E- 3, E-1, E-500, E-30, E-620 with 35 macro, 12-60, 40-150, 50-200, Leica 14-50), almost eliminating the Canon kit given in exchange. Well: E-M1 is certainly the best machine I've ever used! Lightweight, versatile, we do everything from landscape photos to portraits to street ... Do not miss a beat, even with the Lumix Sigma and especially the speed of autofocus, even in full light, is smaller. This coupled with the 75 1.8 is really invincible and only the Sigma Foveon sensor has a greater three-dimensionality, even if they are very close. The menu is easy but long-winded, the handle is nearly perfect (I prefer only one of the Pana GH3), the pleasure is immediate and full use. And the raw files are excellent: perfect color rendering already in jpeg, high sharpness, in my opinion the same level as that of the Canon 5D MII, extended dynamic range, better than the Canon I used, signal / noise ratio that rivals the full size. The update of fw 1.3 has also solved the problem of perfectly shake-on time of 1/320 s. and lower, introducing the shutter elettronico.rnSi could still reduce the area of ??focus and, in my opinion, the objectives Zuiko not have a minimum depth of focus too. In addition, we should introduce a manual focus to field knurled, modeled on the Fuji X-T1, then it would be perfect.

Pros: Dimensions and weight; Build quality (tropicalization); ergonomics; customization commands; electronic viewfinder; stabilizer super efficient 5-axis; excellent exposure; white balance outstanding; color rendering faithful with saturated colors; high dynamic range; AF fast and accurate; JPEG excellent; park optic excellent research; tethering remote very easy and efficient;

Cons: Battery life; non-intuitive menu

Opinion: I agree with those who, reviewing this machine, speaks of a final leap system m4 / 3 and Olympus in particular: a bit 'as the first for Canon 5D and Nikon D700 for in his time in the compact size and FF.rnLe weight, making it a convenient and discreet travel companion: a shoulder bag with less than two pounds you carry bag, EM-1 and 4 goals, plus spare batteries and accessories. It means being able to bring the car always with him. But it is not only the portability, which is undoubtedly a strong point: it is the overall quality of construction that is on the side of the image. Solid (Tropicalised), ergonomics has fabulous and you can take controlling all parameters without ever taking your eye from the electronic viewfinder: the viewfinder immediately gives the perception of the shot, giving real-time image as shooting settings . The customization possibilities are huge (in fact you can "give" their approach to the machine), the stabilizingabsorber on the sensor lets you take up to 2 seconds freehand without the blur. White balance, exposure are perfect, saturated colors and natural: you can use the JPEG without worries, because they are almost definitive. The dynamic range is very good and the EM-1 tends to read well the shadows: in RAW interventions are easy and the file is very malleable. The optics, super bright (12 2, 17 1.8, 25 1.8, 45 1.8, 75 1.8; 12-40 2.8) allow to shoot at low ISO with great quality: If need be, however, the yield is good up to ISO 3200 . In 6400 the file must be edited during shooting and possibly PP: it should be stressed that the noise is not of the luminance and chrominance. The 81 AF points covering the entire frame, and is fast and precise: the area considered is reduced and this fact allows great precision (there is also the loupe with which you can zoom in the viewfinder point MAF chosen and the focus peaking as an aid for the MAF manual). Good AF-C, although here SLRs beamsa high or medium-high, in my opinion, still have an advantage. Tethering remote is so simple, and check well the machine from your smartphone or a tablet. Use one is struck by the amount of good shots that you take home from this point of view is the car more "safe" I could usare.rnPunti Cons: battery life is much lower than that of the SLR, and you do not make more than 300-400 shots without exhausting it. It becomes mandatory to have at least 2 or risk being left without or, for those who love him, you can use the BG (I do not like and do not use it). Compared to Canon, the menus are not intuitive: it takes a little 'time to become familiar and then seize the many opportunities offered by the software macchina.rnQualcuno could say the price (currently about 1400 euro body only): certainly not low but it is true that the quality you pay for and here, of quality, there is much. rn

Pros: Size and weight, electronic viewfinder, super efficient stabilizer in the camera body, weather sealing, build quality and quality of the files, great (almost too much) customization options, excellent dynamic range, natural colors and saturated, Jpeg fairytale, optical and numeros level high, quiet and fast AF-S lightning

Cons: Battery life, AF-C does not live up to the SLR high or medium-high

Opinion: My main kit and therefore more use is being made by Leica digital M; practical photographic genres with pleasure "aliens" to M as the photo nature which is why I joined this time in a Canon system and complete quality. Since, almost to bet, I bought an Olympus E-M5 and some lenses SLR cameras have begun to gather dust in the closet. Since switching to the E-M1 I began to rejoice as when I use my beloved Leica M. In the first months of 2015 will hit a lens 300mm F.4, 0 (covering the corner of a 600mm on FF) and in that definitely spend time to M4 / 3 and will yield any residual instrument Canon. Molds for only up to A2 format and this sacrifice quality than the 5D MKIII and optical L is visible, but it is not. In A3 + what most use are substantially equivalent (for as I am capable of producing or post sooooo much). I tried to print using traditional methods from digital files in 70-100 (Lambda print) and in this case between 5MKIII D and E-M1 differences there are (at least I do not see them) so I am quite ready to abandon!

Pros: Dimensions, ergonomics (position control), customization commands, speed of use, fast autofocus, viewfinder electronic level than optical, sturdy build, not the least aesthetic rivals.

Pros: Small, light, superb ergonomics, customization of each command, electronic viewfinder fabulous, good autofocus, excellent file and tropical, wireless file sharing, remote tethering easy with smartphones and pads, large park optical stabilizer to 5 axes.

Cons: The batteries last much less than the SLR, missing the instruction manual on paper, focus peaking improved, only one slot for a memory card, the screen is not articulated like the old E-series.

Opinion: The electronic viewfinder is the main reason that led me to buy the EM-1 and is the reason why virtually since its purchase I have not touched the old SLR lenses. In addition to the natural advantages in terms of size and heavy weight there are advantages from every point of view. Have the result ready in the viewfinder allows you to optimize exposures with no margin for error, the image in the electronic viewfinder is almost as big D4 or the 1DX, you can zoom in on a subject in the viewfinder and make fast and accurate focused manuals where autofocus may not help, and so on. The autofocus lenses with m4 / 3 is very fast and does not miss a beat. With the lens 4/3 (which I use mainly) autofocus quickly, accurately and species in C-AF mode is much more reliable. The camera can shoot bursts from 10fps (with exposure, focus locked at the first frame) or 6.5 (with autofocus and exposure ranging between one shot and the other). The ergonomics and the complete lostinternationalization of the functions of the camera is another point in favor not to be overlooked. For me it is the future.

Pros: Compact size, build quality, advanced customization options, excellent viewfinder, image quality, optical vast park and the possibility of using virtually all commercially available optical adapters.

Cons: High price even though in line with what is offered, Battery life a few hundred shots, mandated to print yourself the complete manual.

Opinion: I state that I come from decades of experience shooting on film and I have had very positive experiences with previous use for almost two years to another machine m4 / 3 for fine arts projects in b / w with the use of lenses vintage manual focus. I've had it for several months, the OM-D E-M5 which I served as a testbed with a view to a possible upgrade to the E-M1, and the advanced versatility of use combined with high quality optical sensor and fixed me won and did not take the decision to buy the latest addition to the Olympus. What I appreciate most is the presence of features really advanced and targeted for professional use, in a "package" so compact that I always carry with me in a small shoulder bag along with another lens, spare battery, memory cards and the classic treppiedino pocket, thus allowing me more freedom, especially during the frequent motorcycle trips between the countries of the Tuscan countryside. The first two months of use I do not regret the expense - anthat because for me the possibility to use again my dear objectives Olympus OM, Pentacon and Jupiter is priceless ...
