Pros: Product file quality, ring nuts, lightness, versatility, aesthetics, rich in features

Cons: You can perceive the entry level construction, not excellent iso hold, uncomfortable grip (but it is a virtue on certain occasions)

Opinion: I had the Z FC for more than 3 years, a period in which I approached the world of photography again after a long stop. Coming from the D7100 I was excited to switch to the mirrorless system for a whole series of merits and also for the compactness of the body compared to the old SLR. As soon as I took it I immediately perceived that from a construction point of view there was a step back compared to the D7100, the abundant plastic and the keys a bit delicate to the touch, but anyway apart from this I immediately found it very fun and easy to use, thanks to its dials that allowed me to make quick changes to the settings without having to fiddle inside the menus and without almost customizing the controls. The files it allowed me to make in some cases satisfied me very much and it was nice to experiment. In my opinion, as a first approach, or to have fun in many situations, it is the ideal machine. Then, of course, it also has some flaws: if the iso rises too high you can see it immediately, and in fact I always tried to keep them low even with the help of the trusty 35mm 1.8 S, which I used a lot at the expense of the integrated 16-50 pancake. Then it's true that it's compact but up to a certain point, even with the pancake I struggled to put it in my pocket unless I had a voluminous jacket (in this I realize there are more suitable models, but it's right to know). And then of course a stabilizer would have been useful, but here I have to say that in many situations you don't feel the lack of it. I used it all the time with the smallrig grip for a matter of grip and above all body preservation, but if you want to shoot like you used to, everything goes away and you go :)

Pros: Aesthetics

Cons: Construction a bit cheap. Lack of stabilizer on sensor and price.

Opinion: I have been using the Z-fc for about a year. I took it to support the z6II as the second lightest body so I can use it with both the 16-50 and the Z FF lenses. The machine does its job very well. It has a good viewfinder and a good touch display if you compare to the product category. The file is very good at medium low iso and generating a well contrasted, engraved file and with excellent GD. The resolution of 20 mpx now seems low but for me it is enough for almost all purposes. It has a well-laid out and easy-to-access menu. The main functions can be entered in the F menu and on the various function keys (which are not all programmable). Some functions could be added. The construction is a bit plastic. The ergonomics suffer from the vintage look and is slippery due to the absence of the handle. It is not tropicalized. The dimensions are more generous than it may seem in the photos. For what it offers the price is a bit high. The stabilizer on the sensor is missing and for me it is a significant cons since many FF lenses do not have it and the Aps lenses are very few. Sometimes Nikon is difficult to understand as their designs are compatible but completely polar opposites as solutions. In short: fantastic aesthetics (I took it also for this I do not deny it) but there is much better at those prices in the competition which precludes it to those who want to buy it as the only photographic solution. They recycled the 20 mpx sensor of the SLRs when with a 24 mpx Ibis they would have created a much more interesting product. Rated from 1 to 10 where 10 are the flagships type z9? I would say a 6.5 for the commitment to makeup and wig! :D

Pros: Vintage look, file quality, versatility, lightness, rings and controls in the right place

Cons: Grip, battery flap, price, lack of a second memory card

Opinion: For me, coming from pre-Jurassic analog, it was like going back to my glorious old Nikon FM2 New. So my opinion from this point of view is a bit biased. Using the Z9 for some time I have flanked it as a second alternative body when I want to be light. For this reason I have joined a good number of Z DX lenses but obviously you can also use the professional Z series S lenses. The grip is not very good and I preferred to buy the original Nikon GR1 extension that costs a mistake. With the GR1 it's perfect. The Z fc is a vintage mask, in the sense that you can use it as an old Nikon analog manual, with priority of times or aperture, or as a digital of the latest generation, on the level or perhaps higher than the D500 for example, with files of over 20 Mpix and burst greater than 10 ftg / sec. The autofocus very good but not lightning. The setting of the menus is practically the same as the latest generation Z. For a Nikonista it is a matter of seconds to become familiar with the Z fc. It costs a little bit especially with the addition of the original handle, but so much ... It is an almost vintage piece ???. It is a very fun toy, a toy that gives you high-level files even shooting only in jpg, ideal for walks or tourism when you want to stay light. It attracts curiosity but is never intrusive.

Pros: A versatile camera, useful for different photographic uses.

Cons: No one in particular.

Opinion: Don't be shocked, but I replaced a Leica Q with this camera and I'm very, very satisfied. The main reason is that with the Leica, magnificent camera, with an amazing lens, but the problem for me is right there, a fixed 28m, which conditioned me a lot compared to my type of photo, in particular landscape and long exposures. I already own a Nikon Z7ii N with its lenses and the choice of this camera was accordingly. Taken with discount in the cash register with the two lenses a kit, 16-50 and 50-250, I'm using it daily I can say that for autofocus, dynamic range, image quality and high so tightness, the results are very very satisfactory, if we then consider that I can also use all the Z mount lenses also for FF, the circle closes satisfactorily.

Pros: Vintage aesthetics, ergonomics even if without handle, practicality of use rings, high ISO hold, menu, weight, battery life.

Cons: Since they put a small display for the aperture they could have made it backlit for night use; absence of dedicated vintage lenses.

Opinion: Purchased at Christmas, I used it for the first time on a trip to London just ended, despite the temperatures below zero during all the days, the battery has abundantly covered the whole days of use even from diplay without ever going down more than half charge ... what do they say; I state that I have always used it with polarizing filter during the day and with a filter for night photos (removes light pollution and yellow casts) at night, but the yield of jpeg files are practically almost ready to use! The high ISO yield really top, pushed up to 6400 without any problem and in any case never fell below 1600 of darkness! (above ISO 1600 at night if you enlarge the JPEG image to 100%, you notice digital noise... Obviously we can't expect crisp 50x70 prints, but on 20x30 prints remain acceptable results.) Really good ergonomic feeling! Machine body certainly underestimated for the final yield of the files, despite being an apsc has a sensor that gives great satisfaction and excellent yields! I used it with the purchase kit of the Nikkor Z 28mm f / 2.8 SE, despite the absence of stabilizer both in the body and on the lens, not going beyond 1/30sec. It does not feel lack of stabilization even freehand (I have never used the tripod and I have never had problems with shake). I absolutely recommend the purchase for lovers of retro look.
