Pros: Image quality, excellent aesthetics, intuitive rings, retro style for analog vintage purists, ff

Cons: Lack of video sector

Opinion: What to say. Exceptional purchased a few years ago then mistakenly sold for transition to another system now repurchased but with many shots, however the passion of using a full frame with the 50 mm f1.8 lens will be reborn beautiful bokeh photos with soft colors. Wonderful aesthetics in my opinion the Df and the f4 the most beautiful cars ever ... The video sector is ok, but in the perspective of a vintage camera specialized only for photos is not ultimately a defect, I make videos with the smartphone. The intuitive dials Too bad Nikon didn't make a mark 2 or continued the same . The zfc is vintage but current but nothing to do with the DF in fact I exchanged it with the df .

Pros: Aesthetics, qualitatively satisfactory photos

Cons: For now nothing

Opinion: Socket (black) more for fun than for necessity (used but as new with about 27 thousand shots) I found in my hands something spectacular. Going around with the DF is something unique. He is 10 years old and the images he pulls out are the same as the other two Nikon I have (D3x and D810 that more or less, are from the same period so it's normal) but using the Df is more pleasant. I put a thin and very short strap on it and you hold it in your hand very comfortably. By default above there is mounted a Nikon af 1.8 50ino perfectly in sync with the philosophy of the Df and every now and then I mount some manual focus AI optics. The split image viewfinder (also as an option) would have been welcome. Oh, I forgot; with the DF it was love at first sight when I saw it for the first time in the hands of the American actor Jason Statham in the film Mechanic Resurrection ...

Pros: Beautiful aesthetics - manual rings - sensor - image quality - excellent construction

Cons: Not excellent autofocus - viewfinder derived from the D610

Opinion: The Nikon Df is a very particular FF SLR, it prefers photography thought, calmly and carefully, without haste. It takes longer to set the parameters, due to the manual, delicate, solid metal bezels. It will come out of your closet on fewer occasions than other camera bodies, remaining more reserved and protected. In short, it is not the SLR to use every day, according to my point of view. It is that camera body designed to be used on special and special occasions. This is why mother Nikon has castrated her in some respects compared to other bodies. In fact, the autofocus and the viewfinder are those derived from the Nikon D610, not really a lightning bolt of war as regards the speed of action in the shot. But these are the only (and justified) downsides, if we have to call them that. For the rest, well, it is a small Japanese jewel. The aesthetics are sublime, you would stay to admire it for hours. Every detail is taken care of and the metal rings that make the shot slower, are a real pleasure for the eyes. Each parameter has a dedicated one. A real blast from the past but with modern technologies! The image quality, needless to say, is very high. The Df has in fact the same sensor as the Nikon D4 16 mpx, which are not many, but in my opinion they are the right compromise, as well as guaranteeing excellent high ISO performance. In conclusion, I would recommend this SLR to those who have the pleasure of shooting as this camera requires, and to those who want to try to hold an old-school camera in their hands, always remaining firmly in the present.

Pros: Goes with every conceivable Nikon lens, relatively compact and lightweight, old-fashioned feel, bright viewfinder, aesthetics

Cons: Sensor not very dense, AF not very responsive, you could mount a focus slide with broken image to improve the focus in manual, cost

Opinion: A real whim to have fun with the old optics: having several AI and pre-AI with the Df I was able to put back into service a series of lenses that had been languishing in the closet for about ten years. It's a 2013 machine and you could have already mounted the '24 sensor of the D600, but Nikon preferred to mount one from '16 perhaps not to infuriate the performance of the older Nikkor ... some of which hold up very well even with sensors denser than that of the Df. The viewfinder is bright and allows a rather easy manual focus, I share the opinion of someone according to which a broken image slide would have made things easier, or at least would have really brought us back to the glory days of Nikon film, who knows. When using a pre-AI lens, the iris must be set twice: on the lens and on the front ring. You soon get used to using old-fashioned controls such as exposure compensation or using the switch, made in imitation of the old-fashioned shutter block, with one finger. Curiously he feels less the micro-bump of the older sisters, but perhaps it is just a feeling due to the smaller format of the images. Lighter and less bulky than its sisters, especially when using lenses such as the pancake 50 1.8 or the 45 2.8, it lets itself be taken for a walk without weighing on the neck. Contrary to what many claim, the ergonomics of this machine is more than acceptable. I talked about the slow and not very functional AF with low light, but in the end you do not take such a machine to use it with modern lenses, although it is possible to mount even the most recent ones. Ultimately a nice and fun machine, perhaps an updated version with a '24 sensor and a lower price could have ensured a future for this model, which however remained in the catalog for a long time. Today Nikon wanted to retrace the same road (chasing Fuji on its own ground, that of APS with old-style aesthetics) with the Z fc, we will see if there will be the courage to make it an Fx.

Pros: Sensor with superlative dynamic range, high iso rendering, aesthetics, lightness, incredibly clean and three-dimensional files, image colors, feeling of having something truly unique

Cons: Few pixels (compared to today's standards), wearable tires, uncertain autofocus with low light, SLR now out of production.

Opinion: I joined Juza Photo more than anything else because I felt the duty to pay homage to my favorite SLR. In fact, as the owner of both the Df and the Nikon D850 I can say that the files of the first are able to withstand the comparison (and in some situations even beat) the superpixxellata sister. Obviously, it is my personal opinion and I have absolutely no pretense of dictating absolute truths. However, every time I compare the files of the two machines I always have the feeling that the photos of the Df have a level of realism and beauty slightly higher than the monstrous D850. It may be that a few but large pixels collect light better, but the three-dimensionality of the Df images has something stunning. The car is light, excellent for portraits, it is also a pleasure to take it to the city to make the street (its privileged field of action, in my opinion), but it is also great for hiking in the mountains, to make landscaping. The relatively low number of pixels is always misleading: in fact, the details it manages to churn out, especially with certain lenses (Nikkor 35 1.8 G, tamron 35 1.8 SP G2 and Nikkor 50 1.8 G) leave you speechless. The colors are always faithful and exciting, but I repeat the three-dimensionality is really its strong point. Even in the shots of a landscape, made by closing the aperture at f8-f11, you can clearly perceive the detachment of the planes, which is usually noticed / enhanced only with wider openings. But there are also flaws: the autofocus does not shine in low light, and this is really a shame given the sensor, made specifically to give its best in these situations. But above all, given the price of the car, it is unforgivable that the tires wear out soon, sometimes even expanding. The Df, however, is so beautiful and performing that it is gladly accepted to have to send it to the assistance service every now and then, to give it a 'refresh'. That sensor inherited from the D4 has something magical. It's true, you can't do extreme crops because of the 16 mpx but what these few pixels give you.. However, the fact that it costs a lot and does not guarantee the video-function has attracted a lot of criticism. But after all, it was not born for a modern and frenetic use. You take 'reasoned' photos of them and it is essential to associate certain lenses, preferably fixed lenses. Among the various lenses with which I tried it I can say that the most beautiful colors I saw them with the Sigma 50 1.4 Art, the Tamron 35 1.8 SP and the Zeiss Planar 50 1.4. Among the zooms, however, I saw shine especially the Tamron 70-200 2.8 G1. Its ideal completion, however, remains the fabulous Nikkor 58 1.4 G: there you have in your hands the top for portraiture. A note of merit for the humble and mistreated 50ino 1.8 G that is associated with it in kit. Lightweight, fast in af, with pleasant and balanced colors and with a respectable sharpness from f2.8 upwards. What can I say.. extraordinary machine, unique, and probably unrepeatable. Dispassionate advice: be wary of the various negative reviews or comparative on sensors, the realism of an image or colors that know how to excite are things not quantifiable by graphs or mere technical specifications. The Df must be tried in person to realize how well it is performing in these respects. This controversial machine is also capable of churning out amazing photos both with old lenses and with the latest generation of glass, and not only at high iso (as its sensor would let you imagine) but also at the basic ones, for uses (landscape, architecture, still life) that would seem to be the prerogative more than anything else of high-resolution machines. In my opinion, the DF will continue to be monstrous even in 2022. Those who still find some new ones to buy, or used but in good condition, consider themselves kissed on the forehead by Fortune. Good light to all.

Pros: sensor, high ISO noise, use of obsolete optics

Cons: delicate front bezel, lack of broken image focus viewfinder, too central focus points, cost even from excessive use

Pros: It's beautiful (you know a Lancia Delta Rallye, a Jaguar E-Type, a Lancia Fulvia, a Ferrari Dino ...). It has optical viewfinder (priceless), a more than adequate resolution even at the level of "poster", an incredible iso correction of the highs. Possibility of using all Nikon lenses even of antan.

Cons: Slightly angular, it needs an extra handle to hold it well in your hand. It has no "video" and honestly I can't care less: I want to take pictures, not films.

Opinion: I had it in 2014, and I immediately found it appropriate to my shooting style; macro, travel photography. I don't care about the "video": I had Nikon D800E, D850 (still in use, a timeless Ferrari), fuji XT3, Z6 and I never made a video, not even for proof. Photography is something else than video; of course who does both ... I recently joined the 850 Fuji XT3 and E3: mainly to avoid carrying excessive weights in the backpack while hiking in the mountains. Nothing to complain about the files of these machines, but the lack of the "pentaprism" is felt; the surrogate vision of the mirrorless is quite another thing in the case of macro close-up photos, with the use of the focus stacking technique (which I use a lot, even in the absence of a tripod). I was flattered by the sirens for the Z6, great machine but as big as a reflex and electronic vision, the spark did not start and after a short time I returned it. The fact is that discovered at my trusted dealer a new packaging "Df" package and at a discounted price I immediately made the decision to exchange all the Fuji kit with this exceptional SLR. For those like me who have passed into the Nikon universe (F2 Dp1, F3A, F4, F5, F6, F90X, D700, D850, Z6, Df,), apart from the D850 of another planet, the Df is the appropriate synthesis for my type of photography, optimal resolution (I challenge to find big differences on a photo 16 or 24 megapixels), exceptional ISO high control (it has the sensor and processor of the D4 , still considered a "flagship"). If I can give some advice, let's not chase (as I did) the race to megapixels: even today about my photos taken with the D700 (12 MP) and Df (16 MP) and I see no substantial differences (for my type of photography) with the D850. If I went back, I would still hold these 2 SLR cameras, certainly maybe side by side with a PRO body being able to afford it.

Pros: Excellent viewfinder, analog controls, file quality, relative lightness, perfect combination with AI/Ais optics

Cons: Poor efficiency sensor cleaning system, ease with which the battery door is detached

Opinion: I bought this second-hand camera a couple of months ago. For over 10 years I have been at Canon, and even today I am very well with the RF system that I have been joining for two years. But at the bottom of the closet, for many years, were stored an F2as and an FM2n with their good kit of 9 hand-fire optics, including two decentrable. True, I can use these lenses (and sometimes I do) on my Canon Eos R with adapter ring, but the recall of a camera like the Df was very strong, with its mode of use very close to that of the two mechanical SLRs with which I grew up in the 80s, and so I bought it. The perplexity about the relatively few MPXLs has faded immediately thanks to the high overall quality of raw baked by the Df, even and especially when ISOs have to go up. It is necessary to frame carefully, fill the format, and the 16mpxls are enough and advance. The battery life, compared to the R mirrorless, is... embarrassing, you can almost forget about the spare battery. The shot is sweet, but noisy. The viewfinder, although not at the level of that of an F3, is still much better than much of the reflex competition, which, when sealing manually, really makes a difference. My review is very limited by the fact that I didn't try the AF system, which I read to be the Achilles heel of this camera. But I bought it to use it with my old great manual nikkors, so the af this camera may not even have it. Very practical the system of storing and recalling the data of manual objectives (why only 9 storages, however?) as long as you remember to update the lens with each optical change, easy action through a function button and a selection ring. The Df's strengths and file quality are for me, along with a unique "charm", which may not please perhaps those less than half a century old behind them. I use it to wander around, to work slowly, to rediscover the taste of the calm approach, "as if" in the machine there were only 36 frames to shoot. for faster and more challenging things my dear EOS R and their fantastic RF goals are not in question, but within the limits described the Nikon Df is a real pleasure to use. As highlighted above, unfortunately the sensor cleaning system is not much, it is often necessary to resort to blowers or an external technician. Or a little clone stamp; moreover, the battery/board compartment door (why together, then?) tends to detach easily, it seems devoid of a latch. Absurd, especially in the absence of battery grip as accessories. But you put it back in place without too much pain.

Pros: Excellent from the point of view of construction quality and photographic results. An image quality that is appreciated especially with high ISO and with very bright lenses.

Cons: For my expectations and for the motivation of the choice, none.

Opinion: I rediscovered the magic of the colors and complexion of my favorite film in my youth, which was the Professional Agfachrome 50S. Unfortunately very delicate film, to treat the proper attentions, to think that the film was in an aluminum container with screw cap and rubber garnish... It provides excellent results with both very bright and slightly agè optics such as the 85mm f1.4 D or the 80-200 f2:8 pump, and with newer optics such as the 24-120 f4. In my SLR park it is definitely the one that satisfies me the most.

Pros: Light, compact, immediate analog controls, wonderful sensor

Cons: Excessive price; one SD memory slot

Opinion: Beautiful machine, perfect as a second body or to go out light without losing in quality. I had it in practice provided to me by a friend and honestly I would like to buy it as a second body to accompany my D850. Only it costs too much to be new for my taste. I'll look for a good used, maybe someone who was disappointed...

Pros: Sensor yield, High ISO performance, Weight and size, Aesthetics, Value on the used market.

Cons: Limited AF area, only one SD slot.

Opinion: Socket used with very few shots to support the D810 and Fuji X100S, has become the body I use more and with greater satisfaction.rnMonta a sensor in my opinion fantastic that produces exciting files that I would call velvety, limited only in case of extreme crop for via the low pixel density, a feature that, however, allows super performance at high ISO. In practice it is the exact opposite to the 36mp of the D810.rnWithstanding the limited weight is ergonomically more uncomfortable compared to D8xx type bodies ... but, as far as I'm concerned, it is tremendously beautiful, especially if coupled with vintage optics with dimensions not excessive.rn

Pros: fantastic sensor, aesthetic, manual setting rings, timeless charm.

Cons: Do not have it.

Opinion: beautiful and powerful subject, a mind-boggling photo sensor are made to ISO 3200 with the noise of a d810 200 iso.rnEstetica beautiful and in my opinion unbeatable, maybe it could be better cared for in some small details but has a shape that falls well in hand and a weight that makes it unbalanced at times with the zoom of the holy triad but nonetheless I I fall in love every volta.rnNon is a machine born to express the absolute photographic performance, it is an object made to leave a smell in the hands of amarcord those who use it and to revive a bit of emotion to those who grew up with really beautiful f.rnImmagini series, as nice as macchina.rn

Pros: The sensor, the manual setting rings, nighttime performance.

Cons: Lack of double SD slot, comfortable grip, however, not justified by aesthetics.

Opinion: Meanwhile, I tell you that I bought the Df (black) based on recommendations here on Juza and all previous reviews to mine and for this I thank you. The Nikon Df is a machine to itself, do not come out new versions every year. The Df is a timeless classic. Italo Calvino said: "A classic is a book that has never finished saying what it has to say." Here, I think this is Df, a good car right now and valid even 10 years. Do not buy it for its technical characteristics, it is not meant to impress you in that sense. If you're a fan of numbers and trendy processors you are in the wrong place. Buy at if you are convinced you want something different from what the market offers nowadays. It is not an inexpensive car and buy new today does not make sense to me. Look for a good used with "a few" shots. You do not find many around but if you are lucky you will struggle to find even a Df in excellent condition. I think a fair price for this machine is around 1800-1500 euro with less than 100k shots. I I found one with9K in perfect condition with Nikon warranty until the end of 2017. I brought the machine with me on my last trip to Lapland, what about ... turned out to be a great traveling companion. It rectum perfectly rigid temperatures (-20 degrees) Finns. I used two lenses: a Samyang 14mm f / 2.8 and a Tamron SP 24-70mm f / 2.8. With the Tamron that light is not the weight he is beginning to feel guilty even of the low grip of Df. It is not comfortable to grip but what matters most is the habit. Maybe you could think of a Gariz housing that improves the grip as well as protecting of the camera body. We come to the manual controls and its rings: comfortable and beautiful! They are beautiful to see and comfortable to use, return a very special feeling and you get used to the reasoned photography. With this machine you will make fewer shots and it cestinerete far fewer. The ISO sensitivity dial is slightly more uncomfortable than the other because of a security key to be pressed each time to unlock the rotation of the ring.I have learned now to handle this thing with my thumb and forefinger of his left hand. The ring on the shutter speed is much more convenient even if you realize with time that is more convenient to keep it set to 1/3 and change the shutter speed (full scale) from the secondary wheel placed in front of you, it made of less noble materials and possibly subject to wear over time. The Df has many more keys, front, rear and side, all customizable. I think the night photography is one of its strong points. In Lapland I pulled out pictures of very high standard and with a really noticeable noise even at ISO rather high. The raw files are very heavy, and at times seems not to have need of postproduction. I think the Df from the best of the old with fixed lenses, where fun is guaranteed. I either like it or hate it and I love her. I do not ever sell it. I believe that now is (aesthetically speaking) the number one. Love her!

Pros: sensor, size, ergonomics and look old style, no video, no programs, ability to use all produced goals

Cons: only the price

Opinion: I drooled behind us from the first moment I saw it, but the price was a deterrent for years, but when I realized that long I would stay in production have not decided to sacrifice. I had two F90X with whom I have traveled the world and I have my beloved FE yet, then ... the arrival of digital and ... the end of everything. I had a D90, I gave gladly in exchange for Df, but I could no longer do "photo" ... that photo you gave me excitement when inquadravo and I shot ... Instinctively I blamed the format DX and so I definitely wanted to go to the full frame.rnOra unfortunately I do not have time to once, but thanks to Df I rediscovered the pleasure of walking around with a camera and make "pictures", with the heart and with the head .rnE 'really an excellent machine for the use that I do, so I can understand that there may be detractors, but for me is unique, nay ... not seen that I have bought another used in excellent condition ...all and two black.

Pros: The bayonet F

Cons: I would personally remove all the electronic functions, too many and even useless, and I would leave only the manual commands.

Opinion: I took it because at some point in life I wanted to shoot with a car that reminded me of what I was using with the film and to put on track all of my old objective Nikkor AI manual focus I bought in the seventies /eighty. All fixed optics except a 35-105, which make you think before you shoot, they want their time, and you too realize that the picture is going to go slowly to the viewfinder, without any hassle that transmits digital, Autofocus and burst shots right and sometimes missing or even framed. And then it looks beautiful as I was and still are my old Nikon F, F2A, FM, FE, and I'm happy to reuse my dearest goals that have aged with me and for several years they have restlessly used inside Of an old Temba bag.rnI did not give too much weight to the fact that the sensor is a bit dated, but I assume that the sensors are all good now, or that they can not shoot videos, for that I have other machines and genuinely are not A videofI do not care how many focus points have, so manually focus, I do not want to do the white balance braketing in neutral raw and then to the limit I have the thermometer, so and finally I like it, I like to shoot in manual and have in my hands an object that meets my concept of aesthetic perfection.rn

Pros: Constructive quality, reliability, clean and ready file, aesthetic appeal, easy and pleasant in manual use, the 16 MP allow you to use Nikon old-school lenses

Cons: Iso ring uncomfortable, sub-quality dial not at the level of others, no real help for manual focus, Af slow with little light

Opinion: When the monkey starts not stop anymore, the purchase of a Df is not objectively rational, for that there is the 750. As you may have guessed I am a fairly inexperienced amateur, I am the typical buyer that Nikon wanted to cheat and I l 'I have satisfied, but I'm happy, I started to take pictures after many years of break and the passion increases with the desire to improve, set the adjustments manually, focus and feel clik and more pleasant to watch a picture on the monitor, This I think it's the essence of a Df, to amplify the pleasure of photography, made of thoughts, gestures and emotions when shooting and not limiting oneself to the vision of an image. Who expected a comment on the technical qualities of Df will certainly find under what he seeks from people more competent than me, the only criticism that I can move are on the wheel of the iso that is inconvenient to use because the stop, while that of the secondary ring and strangely (these are the Japanese to understand, the above are made of metal) made of plasticand its smoothness and hard, having to force with the index to make it move, I have doubts about its duration, also being a machine designed for the use of pre Ai Nikon had to strive more to facilitate the use in MF. The positive notes come from solid construction and quality, reliability (around I do not read problems) and files that are in my opinion excellent, moreover with 16mp you can use optics that are not the G, that those 16mp are enough and advance for photos printed in A3 +, I also tested in A2 (I own an Epson 3880) and I assure you that if the file is clean and the print is excellent.rnrn20-03-2017rnper facilitate the use of my manuals Ais, I mounted the K3 Focusing Screen, which would be the broken and frosted slide of the Fm3, the slide I think is original and not a copy because it arrived with the original Nikon packaging, the Taiwanese geniuses in practice take the slide that is bigger than the Nikon digital and cut out to fit the Df.rnBut this for% 26ograve; I can say after a couple of weeks that I use it that is not necessary, the green ball is perhaps more precise and even faster, in fact entrusting completely the focus to the eye makes me cannare more photos and also lengthens the time, the slide comes into play when there is little contrast or little light and the green ball begins to work, in that case and a valuable help, before closing I can tell you that it is very cool to look through a piece of history to compose a picture

Pros: Excellent quality of the sensor, color perfectly balanced, beautiful, all the controls in the right place, excellent ergonomics

Cons: Missing illuminator af

Opinion: Taken six months ago, it was always my ball, you are working as expected, fantastic, files that come out are three-dimensional, and the colors are real and very particular, have a special timbre, always very balanced with .... ais, the reference of the ball is improved in accuracy, with the D800 the focus point does not often coincide. af perfect for my needs, the only drawback is probably the af illuminator, in the dark would be helpful, however, I made a photo of the concerts I have had great difficulty ..... I see it is never dropped price, hope remains only .... what to say more, a "masterpiece"

Pros: product file quality unmatched by any other existing sensor! Burst buffers and more than enough for any type of photography, even sports! Excellent grip, at least for me! Ability to use any type of ancient and modern Nikon optics! Gives value to any lens, as the balance of FF 16-megapixel sensor does not equal in terms of sharpness and management of micro-rough. Lightweight and small, it can be carried around a whole day hanging around his neck with a fixed without feeling any discomfort. Prints produced with the Nikon Df exude a special charm.

Cons: The Autofocus does not excel, but it is sufficient for any type of photography, even for photographic and sport hunting.

Opinion: The camera which in my opinion is a point of arrival for those shooting with the head and not with Kulo, also because they are now so many that boast centuries-old experiences with daguerreotypes of various kinds and then complain of a machine like this that provides the ability to taking in both automatic and manual, in any situation, and I have to make a serious contesto.rnQuando photograph I have no doubt, I choose the Nikon Df. I printed in large format dozens of files produced with various cameras, ancient and modern, and every time I ask the printer to show me the pictures that attracts him most, as it happens is always one of those made with his Nikon Df.rnIl sensor is unique and produces only files of its kind, for connoisseurs and the tone very unique and charming, which are not yet able to perceive in any other type of file.

Pros: the sensor

Cons: It needs to write a novel ....

Opinion: Clearly the Df is a marketing operation desired by Nikon to capture a vintage band customers. Many take it convinced to find the strength of the old analogue They were confounded, the outer cover is made of pure plastic and the body of the D600 is modest. On the other hand shortcomings are many: from compattona battery, AF laughable (plus with points concentrated in the center and without illuminator), one slot for the memory card, the battery grip is not expected, the car ISO better to draw a veil pitiful. The sensor is very good of the D4, but even there the technology has moved on. The cost for what it offers is absolutely out of the market, I struggled just to sell my 1700 Euros. I also read rave reviews but CRDO that person who wrote them have never felt a D750 or D810. Or has a Df to sell ...

Pros: Takes you back to the times of the mechanical F and FM2 I possess still, extraordinary sensor, light and compact to be a FX

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I read many negative opinions on this machine on the network, but from the fact that the perfect machine does not exist, I find the Df an amazing car, in concept and features.rnNon has the video, and rightly so, otherwise it would be yet another digital equal to all the others, that's born to do ONLY photographs, also justify the autofocus module, more than enough for those approaches to this machine, remembering the mechanics of the past years, I also found it very easy to MF manual optics without AF, and electronic range finder helps a lot in questo.rnHa an extraordinary sensor with an extremely wide dynamic range and noise reduction at high iSO superbo.rnIn bottom, I think, it has not been understood the concept behind this project .rnSe you want to play sports is not the machine for you, the Df is rated for reportage, street photography and thoughtful, in fact, if made to fit fixed lenses, with which is very well balanced. rnInfine I would say that if you like a return to passato with maximum control of the main parameters, through the timeless and nuts, and a quality of excellent image, well this is the car for you.

Pros: a great machine we rediscover the passion for photography ... only Nikon could make a masterpiece of the genre ... I'm not exaggerating !!!!

Cons: nobody

Opinion: I own the df 6 months and a pleasure to shoot with her, quality 'at the top facilitates' of use and every time I have the feeling of taking pictures with fm2 I had always been. I had so many digital cameras almost all nikon, excellent machines ... but the df and 'a world apart ... here taking pictures with the heart and mind ... if you believe there try it!

Pros: Beautiful, excellent performance at high ISO, compatibility with now otherwise unusable lenses.

Cons: materials a bit 'poor, the battery compartment cap occasionally comes off, one SD slot.

Opinion: I started taking pictures with the Nikon F of my mother and the first car that I bought was a FM2, so as soon as you exit the Df was love at first sight. After an assiduous court, I decided to buy it to find it used in excellent condition. I must say I am extremely pleased with the way it works. Before I had a Pentax K5IIs that in many ways is much higher, but the Nikon Df brought me back to a more authentic dimension (for me) to take pictures. I find the rings and knobs perfect: use well and is configurable (one in front and one behind) as one wants. In fact it goes back to a real manual operation, without frills and with a perfect image quality. Maybe the quality of materials and construction details, for the price at which you buy are not quite up. The Pentax is decidedly superior from this point of view. It is still a beautiful machine that buy back right now, but not at full price.

Pros: Masterpiece

Cons: The masterpieces do not have

Opinion: It is not comparable to anything on the market: you have said Everything. To the maniacs of technology that take only at night, to ten Ftg. Per second and they spend their lives comparing raw test-looking flaws I strongly advise Against. The Df is made for those who come from the film and still want a reliable tool, precise and why not Elegant. bought this morning, after mulling for a long time whether or not to pass a Full Frame. It ' a little madness that I granted but, just taken in hand I started to have "want" to take Pictures. In the coming days I will enjoy trying it thoroughly and, as soon as possible i'll put the most significant shots in my galleries. For now I tell you that to keep it in hand it rediscovers the ergonomics of always, when I used the F2 or the FM/FE, everything is where it should be, everything is beautiful and finished, with the somewhat blasè elegance of a historical and legendary brand, which has truly written unique pages in history of Photography. The first files I have examined are perfect, clean, with a "rightness" of the whole that only a real Thoroughbred champion can and must Give. With it I will also reuse my old vintage Nikkor. thanks, Nikon....! Update: many, (including Dp Review), have criticized the AF system inherited from D610. In reality I found that it is very efficient, (even using manual optics The electronic rangefinder is of a precision and reliability exemplary) and in light conditions very poor and without AF illuminator, still manages to focus safely on Center Point. Obviously if you pretend that focus with a super tele, a subject in motion, maybe candle light you are simply asking the wrong thing to the wrong machine, (but if you can focus closer you will have an exposure to very high ISO that has very few rivals, since it is even more slightly performing than the D4s of which the sensor mounts...). Then there are those who criticize the ergonomics and here we are really in the presence of people who have never owned a film reflex or have never held the DF which is specially designed to entrust to the control of the nuts and buttons of the machine and all of Metal. Then this approach may please or not please, but it is certainly not the fault of the Df! Update. (two years passed with DF). I'm going to thank and keep all the forum users updated that, as a result of my reviews and other users have got to own and/or use the DF. Over time it has proved efficient as well as robust, beyond the most rosy expectation, in spite of those that were initially indicated as possible Fragility. I am referring in particular to the tendency of the card compartment/battery door, to detach and Fall. In fact, after the first few days you learn how to handle it and open it and in fact I have never had any problems whatsoever. I am known to not be particularly careful in handling cameras, indeed... Of mine are banging and tripping, so my poor Df have reported some wear of paint at the corners of the Base. Small purely aesthetic damage that obviously does not compromise the Functionality. At one point I decided to have the standard focusing screens replaced with stigmometer slides, to make it easier to focus with manual optics, since they are eye and my (little) vista gets worse as Well. Well what about... when something is born well... Now my Df mounts focus slides originally intended for Nikon FM2 and the experience of using manual optics has become even more rewarding. I also feel to reassure users about negative opinions about this Intervention. In reality everything works perfectly, but given the limited space, I invite you to write to me in private to explain how and why. Very talented Nikon!

Pros: Fantastic quality of RAW. excellent performance at high ISO. Accessibility to essential functions inspired by Vintage. lightweight body. fascinating aesthetic at the same time goes unnoticed to most people.

Cons: It has everything that I expected so I see no cons.

Opinion: I was lucky to have her as a present for my 60 years. I have only a month, right away I was in harmony with this exceptional SLR quality of its raw, its response at 12800 asa, really excellent. Having over 38 years had many film cameras and the 90s onwards almost exclusively Nikon I found the DF really very intuitive. Also with regard to the digital menu, having had other Nikon digital SLR also here no problem.

Pros: It allows the use of all optical Nikon F bayonet produced from 1959 to the present. What more do you want? For the rest 100% perfect if he also had the fork in the pre Ai pentaprism it would be perfect 200% but

Cons: Nothing.

Opinion: It 's my favorite Nikon digital camera, combining everything I look for in a digital to that taste and approach to photography "old style" I've been looking for. I was born with the Nikon F and subsequent Nikon F2 and follow all the subsequent developments in both film and digital. The use of rings for the main controls instead of buttons and menu is for people like me who has formed on the mechanical cameras not a limit but a virtue, rediscovering and re-taking contact with the photograph of a time. For example today are fashionable pseudo cameras old style like Fuji etc that receive very successful, well here we have a true digital SLR camera with true old style settings, all true Nikonisti, should jump for joy because you can now use all lenses with F bayonet that have ever been produced! Thanks to this machine, I recovered a fantastic Nikkor 35mm f2 pre Ai completely fantastic manual also on digital, as well as a 105 f2.5 pre Ai equally suprlativo and many others bietttherein. The Df is this and is used to this, and people like me who is a reporter / photographer knows how this can be very useful not only from the business point of view but also purely playful and fun. Beware of the writer is not a reflex, not a mirroless, it is nothing. The Nikon Df is a digital camera that can use all the optical park Nikond produced from 1959 to today, and if you please! I used with all Nikon lenses from Car series to the series Ai through the series D, G, etc ... never missed a shot it with manual focus it with Autofocus, also used with a reflex- Nikkor 500mm f8 without problems and with great results. For those who like me comes from the frosted glass of the Nikon F and F2 without split screen, you will not have problems using manual lenses with its bright frosted glass slide. For excellent me to 100%

Pros: aesthetic old style, rendered high ISO

Cons: poor mpxl sensor, cost, materials, battery, memory card slots, impossibility to adopt BG, ergonomics, Auto ISO catastrophic function

Opinion: Having borrowed the sensor from the D4, obviously the yield to the high ISO is excellent, it works at 6400 with the noise of the 400 ISO, really a show. But that sensor also wraps the wings, if the 16 mpxl are good for a professional, however, are really a bit of a real cameraman in the year 2015. The look is deliberately retro (I suppose to capture those who have not yet gone digital) but the materials are not those of old analogs, plastic makes it master and the body, from what I have to touch with, is borrowed from the one of the D600-D610-D750, then entry level category. Ergonomics are not the best, going back to the rings after years of buttons is not easy. The front ring, the one on the front of the camera, is really hateful to operate. The top display disappeared, in its place there is only a tiny window. The battery is weak, suitable for a compact or little more. And it is not possibleto adopt a battery grip, at least original. For SD cards there is only one slot (in my opinion this is a serious lack ...) placed in the battery compartment, closed by a very delicate door. The AF certainly does not cry to the miracle, especially with low light, and of course there is no illuminator. The Auto ISO function is in my opinion unusable, af 8 and 1/500 in full sun had brought me to 1600 ISO, there is little to add. Photos do it for charity, but switching from a digital top to a Df can be traumatic. In return the price is amateur, really out of market for what is offered. I took it only to try it, I sold it without regret. rnVoto 6 but only for high ISO yield, by no means .... UPDATE: after a year and a half from the review of the first specimen possessed, while confirming the above impressions, I still regained a Df. Because? Well, despite having all the flaws in the world, of courseor (for me) the most enjoyable of Nikon's FF. Lightweight, stratospheric sensor, beautiful, it is a pleasure to come out with her and with a pair of light lenses. No longer the heavy backpack, but the Df in the neck and another lens in your pocket, really changes your life ... mnnTo: The writer is not an influencer or a guru, nor does one who downloads other images from the net to embody unlikely. For almost forty years, a passionate nikonist of photography and photographic material has been, and my opinion is not a gospel, but only the result of empirical experience. The objects I write really buy them, I play a few months and if I do not like them, but always and in any case of material at the moment in my possession. I do not make the copy paste of reviews taken here and there on the net, if I'm talking about an item it's just and because I had in the house the time it took (at least months) to try to figure it out. I often go against the current but this does not take my sleep, as far as I can, I try to help young peopleaspiring photographers who give a weight to their savings. But, I repeat, I do not bring the verb ...

Pros: Sensor, High ISO, Aesthetics, Battery life

Cons: Ergonomics, especially construction of some plasticky buttons (see BKT), Slowness of use, price, no video, AF, exposure

Opinion: The first time I had it in my hands and I looked for good I thought, "Oh my what a nice !!!" and it is true, the Df is really nice. But being a camera can not only be beautiful, you must also take good pictures especially given the price of high-end ... And here we are discussing, the sensor is one of the D4 and files that are churning out the top. It looks fine, nothing wrong ... but no, because in low light AF starts ciccare the focused, also because of the fact that it has the AF-assist illuminator. And steps, because it is so beautiful ... But then you start to meet you, and would like to do more, use it more quickly without going through the rings especially regarding the ISO, but you realize that it is not possible ... But then look at it and it is so beautiful ... So let us start the first work, it is so light that you almost forget it if combined with a beautiful first light; for & ogravis; at the end of the day your right hand begs for mercy given the bad grip that forces her into an awkward position. But then you look at it, and it is so beautiful ... And yet all is forgiven. In short, it is a machine that requires certain sacrifices and can not be compared to any other FF currently available. Not going to work very well in my opinion, that's great to go around. But in the end who cares cons ... It's so beautiful ...

Pros: Camera small enough and light, pleasant to use, with excellent image quality

Cons: To me that's okay, then perfection is not of this world.

Opinion: I come from a Nikon D300, I wanted to step on a FF and after several headaches reading various reviews, I decided to try it for yourself and I'm innamorato.rnLa use mainly with my AIS fixed lenses of good quality, and to the use we make (landscape, portrait and macro) prefer the manual focus (what good is the 'f with the landscape and macro)? Matrix with perfect exposure, images of a spectacular three-dimensional depth, excellent color rendering and sharpness. Not to mention the high yield iso unattainable. So for me as a photographer, is the camera that will keep me company for many many years, without the nightmare of running after the latest made only vendere.rnIn conclusion, I tried a reflex "definitive" no frills and not very heavy, but built to last and above all with a performance of core image out of the question, and with the DF ho found what I was looking for.

Pros: Detail to be a 16mp, yield high iso beautiful, wb precise even in mixed light, tropicalization excellent af very precise.

Cons: A single memory slot, the absence of an assist illuminator LED for af.

Opinion: I have about a month this reflex, after much research and documentation I have decided and I bought, I have the black model (the gray one did not attract me at all ...) first impressions were more than positive, indeed, have exceeded expectations! not having giant hands, I can challenge it quite well, and within a couple of hours I got familiar with the solid metal ferrules, also having a D600 gives me the impression of being easier to handle, lighter and a hair thin, the rest are the same ... The meter is very accurate as the AF and the WB, I never tripped in jpg, but they say produces files ready, I'll try ... RNLA image quality is surprising, having tried a D4, in my opinion works a little better this Df !! I've never shot video with a DSLR so the lack of it leaves me indifferent ... the thing that I regret is that we've introduced the AF module of 600/610 (-1ev 39 points) have not provided an LED auxiliarythe coupling of the fire in dark situations is effective, then why not put at least the form of the D800 (-2EV if not mistaken) with the most points af? sin ... rnHo did a test to test the recovery shadows of this sensor (Nikon) comparing it with the Sony sensor of my D600, working under 5 stops (which will never happen), the sensor Sony has the better, little, compared to Nikon.rnUn'altra small lack is the single memory slot, you could at least make a backup for safety having a pair! rnPer else find it a stunning reflex that fully satisfies my needs, considering the work I do ...! files cleaned, etched, splendid colors and especially the weight quite content! rnI am happy!

Pros: excellent yield high iso, jpeg ready.

Cons: successful half. Nikon has yet to study a lot. Af bad. classification in a difficult market. low resolution, the presence of the filter aa

Opinion: Past by Leica M to this desperate need for autofocus, unfortunately after a first love came the problems: RNLA file quality baked good like all modern SLRs equipped with sensors FF; autofocus especially in AFC is painful and the percentage of focus working with dynamic players in large openings is very bassa.rnIl biggest problem of this machine that is proposed as a link between the nikon optics of the past and those of this and future, is the lack of a system to aid in manual focus effectively. With the focus peacking was definitely a best seller, but now the market after an initial phase of emphasis, it is slowly putting parte.rnConcludendo: rnNon is a reflex, not a vintage, not a mirrorless.rnè a toy carino.rnNel my case I recovered the leica M.rnpensateci.rn

Pros: construction, weight, quality of the sensor, the viewfinder quality, aesthetics.

Cons: lack eyepiece shutter

Opinion: Do I have a D610 (which actually uses mostly my daughter) and I changed the D800E with a black Df, to which I then added a second silver body. The replacement of the D800E (beautiful machine) is due to the fact that I decided to limit the size of my prints and, after a series of careful tests, I found that of the 36 plus million pixels and the resulting higher resolution compared to 16 of Df is only noticeable in a clear manner on the A1 format. The A2 is only visible to a keen eye and near. On an A3 + (the format is now practical) need a magnifying glass. In contrast, the sensor assures me Df color rendition and an ability to shoot in low light conditions really commendable. In addition, being a photographer of the old course, with this machine I find myself with my eyes closed, like when I was using my Nikon film and can even be more responsive, also because of the lighter weight and smaller body size. Using my Df only predominantly fixed optical light. I knowthat many did not like it and I must admit that a young man, who grew up with the cars of today, it might be confused and less rapid in action.

Pros: Compactness, maneuverability, ease of control settings, ISO

Cons: As already osservatornL'impugnatura "edgy" has created problems for me during a very intense use!

Opinion: It 's my third Nikon FX after D3 and D700 so I have these as a yardstick. I also tried the D800 because I do not hide that I was skeptical before spending a substantial figure but I chose Df frightened me because the 200 photos with 16gb storage and management of files on the PC over the yield of my lenses on a sensor 36mpx. rnHo fact involution in the search for a compact camera body more and more and more specific to my needs and after I "ruined" the neck in the mountains with the D3 I chose the D700 and so now I feel reborn! rnLo backpack is lightweight and allows me to enjoy more of the outputs and the quality of autofocus problem ripaga.rnil I can not find it in the sense that in normal use often recompose and in the landscape often use live view on a tripod exploiting the bubble Dual-axis integrata.rnHo read some inaccuracies on Dpreview that are incorrect or not I are in agreement: rn "Inconsistent use of materials detracts from sense of quality" rn "No stairs or exposure histogram in live view" is not correct, just press the info rea repeat pattern and appears as the bubble ... rn "Body is rather large and heavy, considering the small grip" I took pictures at the Geneva Motor Show for the whole day, over 1500 pictures ... the weight is minimal! the only drawback, but I have to make us the "callus":-D, is that the middle finger was so bent on the edge of the grip in the evening gave me a little 'annoyance, in two days everything was ok. This is the only real flaw but came out in a use is not usual! Rn "Slow AF in live view" no difference compared to other cameras I avutorn "No time-lapse option (available on D610)" absolutely false, and this extensively customizable! rn "No infrared remote trigger option" today with a affaretto wi-fi you can control the Df as the D3300 etc remotely with a smartphone enabling them to live view! rnDevo still be able to squeeze it well in the use of photography night to see the high ISO to "dirty" work but I'm sure I do not disappoint! rnL'autonomia is very good even if I do not understand why a battery is notccelsa as capacity. rnCon two batteries 1500 photographs I made using 28,300 and not skimping on zoom.rnrn

Pros: Weight Sensor, fantastic quality and high ISO, Construction, White Balance, Color, Af.

Cons: Location for the SD placed on the battery compartment of difficult change in speed, the absence of key picture style.

Opinion: After having several flagship Nikon and Canon, I decided to change my way of photographing, I'm a photographer matrimonialista I have always tried to give the highest quality to my customers and I have always worked with the best equipment in ambe both houses. The decision to switch to a machine such as Df is its weight and the shift to only fixed lenses, have a machine with the quality of the D4 body in a much more 'smaller and much more' light made me take the idea of take it. First of all, I speak of its ergonomics, the first two days of use were a bit 'difficult you have to get used to in your hand does not fit as some of the D4 which in my opinion is the best SLR ergonomic and balanced to perfection. Of course that Df if you try on the bench of the shopkeeper will not appeal to many, is not a car for everyone, not for the money (in my opinion just for the product that you take) but mostly because those who have large hands will be uncomfortable (not ago in my case since I have small hands.) The use of completea whole day is much less tiring and much more 'divertente.Il sensor is fantastic, although the same as the D4 in my opinion works best at high ISO 6400 and 12800 type where blacks are much more' intense, for those who work in jpg files are very clean and not very impressive artifacts. I could see a perfect white balance works very well even in the presence of mixed lights and very little light. The AF is very good and responsive, certainly not suitable for anyone who makes photographic hunting or sport, it is a machine designed for these things! I hear many people complain that the points are not well distributed in the frame, it is true, but for me it is not a primary thing that I use since the middle 90% and the remaining 10% of the lateral extremes. I went to all fixed lenses and old-fashioned 35f2 20f2.8 50f1.8 85f1.8 105f2DC 180f2.8 all D series, much less contrasted than the modern fixed and zoom, but the colors that produces Df with these optics I think they are much more 'pleasant pastel and also have scaled down the size and leggeritosions of my bag. There is no difficulty in the use of rings you can 'change the iso fine looking into the viewfinder and turn the nut with your left hand, a matter of practicality. To set the ring time just sul1 / 3 and turn the rear wheel as the current Nikon SLR, for that anterione (diaphragms) just give us a little hand with the middle finger, leaving the index finger on the shutter button. The only flaw always for others is the SD card slot for those who shoot a lot and prefer small cuts is not very suitable, it is not easy to change board at speed, I'm fine where it is much more 'protected from the elements does not snap very in my wedding a 16GB card is more 'than enough, is resolved by placing a large cutting board, the small display above cmq tells you how many shots you have available so people like me who have to work just to watch a few moments before importante.rnNon hà the shift key picture style, and since it offers some nice BWvery uncomfortable going into the menu 'to switch between various preset.rnUn' another sore point is the noise of the shot (so to speak is like the ferrari, you can not fail to notice switch), especially in places like the church (in this case I preferred the silent the 5DMKIII). rnTutto in all I love this car, first because with the excuse of the style of the handle and many do not like it, then it will be a car that few will, then for its quality and lightness really amazing, so much so that I thought to take another and this time Black ;-)

Pros: Sensor of the D4 with all that it entails; discretion aesthetics; full compatibility with nikkor lenses.

Cons: Autofocus a dx, less important: battery and card slot under the machine and consequently the absence of a possible battery pack.

Opinion: I do not possess, but I had the chance to "squeeze it" during my last vacation venetian thanks to a friend who gave it to me imprestata.rnCome fotomistico rightly says, it is a unique machine, for various aspects. I have appreciated very much, iso incredible, precise autofocus although insufficient as a frame coverage but it is an extremely disabling, a good shooting interval and above all discretion. rnPer discretion intend to be able to street without attracting too much attention, then accompanied by optical light, night gives HUGE soddisfazioni.rnNel complex is a wonderful machine, but it is not for everyone, and I mean here, is a matter of style for both an economic issue is a full frame for a specific audience, taking into account the advice of its own specificity.

Pros: sensor from the amazing performance; construction; viewfinder; yield at high ISO unparalleled; old-style charm; Auto ISO fantastic;

Cons: One SD slot for more placed in the battery compartment; available AF points too massed in center of frame; absence of presets;

Opinion: The Nikon Df is a machine unique. It can not be compared to any other SLR currently on the market. This mix of retro-style and modern technology is something unique. Leaving aside the promotional campaign of the well-photography, just a red herring but given the sales figures it worked, I come to dunque.rnIl "heart" of this reflex consists of the magnificent sensor that equips the flagship D4 / D4S. And with that I said a lot: high dynamic range, high ISO performance record-breaking, magnificent colors pellicola.rnLa-like body is well made, solid feel is felt immediately. It is not entirely constructed of magnesium alloy, as the central part is made from a block of polycarbonate. But that does not mean it's cheap: the assemblies are impeccable, all the rings in metal and well profilate.rnIl viewfinder is the same as the D800, so magnificent. The only sore point is the housing of the only SD card placed inside the gono battery. This is a choice a bit "poor" for a camera that is inserted by Nikon in the group of "professional" .rnIl AF system is the same as the Nikon D600 / 610: fast, accurate even in low light conditions but with a provision of points too massed in center of frame. No rare occasions when you are forced to focus and then recompose to place the subject at the edges ... rnI controls are something unique: all "manual", the old setting. Who has had the opportunity to shoot with the old analog that characterized the 70/80 will not have problems to familiarize yourself with Df. For all those who are "born" with the modern SLR will be a real "new world". rnQuesto can be a problem: the technology over the years has been going on as well as design. A next-generation digital SLR lets you do everything by two nuts and several keys all at your fingertips. RNLA Df is an "analog" with digital heart and each command a ghierdedicated to. This is at the expense of speed of use in some areas. rnNon is a machine for all, obviously. You have to know what you buy otherwise are thrown to the wind a lot of money and you are not satisfied dell'acquisto.rnMolto define Df the heir of D700: it is not so. You can be driven to think that way, taking into account that it is equipped with the sensor of the flagship. We must not forget, however, that outside of the sensor and viewfinder has nothing to do with the D4. rnih synthesis, a reflex that "divide": either you love it or you hate it. I'm tempted to advise only those who are looking for a machine "definitive" in certain areas such as landscape, street, portrait, pictures "reasoned" .rnSconsigliatissima for sport, hunting or if you require high operating speed. rnChiudo with a note: try it anyway. The files that churns are a wonder and this sometimes weighs on the final choice. Shooting in light conditions almost absent pushing fino to 25,600 ISO to discover that the file keeps a cleaning and a detail never seen prima.rn
