Pros: Fantastic

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: Spectacular, wonderful... I want to start by commenting on flaws that many have attributed to her. Let's start with the micro-move... not received. Some say that the WB is not the best... other defect not received. Is it heavy? Not for me, used to the D3... But do you really want to take important photos with small and light cameras? I find the weight and dimensions of the D800 perfect. In the hand the feeling is immediate. Noisy? The right. The truth is that it has no flaws. It's magic. Nikon has fused technique and science with art and poetry and the result is called D800. I tested it with the modest, but not so much, Nikon AF 50 mm f1.8. At f8 with flash the results are amazing. From previous reviews I did not imagine so much. And with superior optics what could be done....? Watching the Raw it generates left me speechless for colors, malleability, but above all for sharpness: a surgical detail. This jewel of digital reflex has undoubtedly opened, in its time, new frontiers of creativity. I love making portraits and I consider the D800 infallible in this field. ISO seal. Obviously we are talking about a room from 2012. In decent light conditions up to 2500 from good results, and beyond, up to 6400 the whole thing is acceptable. I use it with flash at 100, 200 max 1000 ISO. Managing flashes with umbrellas is cool. When I decided to take it I already had in mind to exploit it at low ISO with one or more flashes. It is not an ISO 100000 sealing machine, but at 100/200 ISO I do not think I fear any top of the range of any brand thanks to its fantastic sensor, and in any case if someone does better at low ISO it must cost at least 10 times as much. A special thanks goes to RCE foto that, with the used guaranteed at honest prices and the great kindness and availability, manages to give even an amateur photographer like me, only for now, the opportunity to experiment in the "photographic portrait" sector obtaining incredible results. I would buy it back 1000000 times, but only from RCE photos. I recommend it especially for the portrait. Grade 10 laude.

Pros: Nikon Milestone

Cons: "Stressful" with underperforming lenses

Opinion: everything was said about you for better or for worse. I can only say that with the objective "right" and understood to be worthy of the sensor after almost 10 years its portraits or landscapes remain difficult to even and almost impossible to beat. If you then portray a rustic interior with a fireplace................ his picture seems to give rise to the fire that seems to give off heat. The D800 is as robust as a tank, and is the same feeling you get when handling the D3, D4 and D5. I believe that today the Nikon "non-D-superPro" are not similarly robust construction, or at least do not turn out to give the same perception. His biggest flaw? It is, and remains to require "big" optics to demonstrate what it is capable of! Alternatively you have to "get along"! A small anecdote: one day per game using as a test bench a Zeiss Otus 28mm f/1.4 we clearly compare in the same easel composition the D800 and the D850 both set by canceling NR, VR and setting PC Neutral and Matrix exposure e................... my cousin, owner of both the D850 and the extraordinary Zeiss, was stunned by the D800, which under certain conditions (composition-light-lens) can take incredible photos where by incredible you mean a jpg ready to prints "huge and impressive". A great machine to love especially for those two or three "things" that literally does in its own way in the "right" hands that are definitely not mine! Why keep having it? I would say why spending a million dollars if the result as a perceptible accretive diference is not worth at least one-fifth of the million dollars it would be foolish to replace it! If I had the money I would take a D850 and why not, even a D6, but............. without even thinking remotely about depriving myself of the D800. This is his best value; makes you fall in love forever!

Pros: Body Pro,color yield, battery life

Cons: High iso hold, white balance

Opinion: I finally bought this gorgeous car for a couple of months with only 8000 shots. I come from (in order) D200,D7000,D700,D300S,D7100. and in the kit I also have a D90 that will not leave me easily... I am not a professional photographer but I allow myself to write my impressions because now some Nikon I know and I would like to give my opinion to those who want to buy one. Well the high iso estate is the only aspect that really disappointed me (at night lamplights of streetlights with the 50 1.8 max 2000 iso... more you don't see ).really I expected more. I had the D700 with which I could take pictures at 4000 iso without any particular disturbance. I think it's because of the super mgpx. Too bad. Another aspect that they lose but for me a little negative is the automatic white balance. Especially with the setting sun you have to intervene manually otherwise something obscene comes out... I have to make a few attempts before finding the right combination, luck that has an infinity of choice in the settings The rest? It's a wonder to me! I do not take sports photos and the gust interests me little (however I have the battery grip and with this the gust so it's great ). The colors then, are really fantastic with much and little light, spectacular details. You can enlarge a lot without losing nulla.il machine body with the pro key position then it's spectacular. Valid display and beautiful sturdy construction. I highly recommend the purchase!!!!

Pros: Ergonomics, sharpness, colors, high ISO hold, dynamic range.

Cons: It is a professional camera and therefore to get in every shooting situation an excellent result you have to study it. Setting times and using the easel for these results. So for me no cons.

Opinion: To date I think it is the best full frame camera in value for money. The D810 and the D850 failed to outperform it. At night practically in the dark even setting the ISOs to 25600 you get noteworthy photos. And then in my opinion: noise? Yes, thank you. An endless machine. For the micro move I do not see damaged photos in any photo situation. The precaution that you should take when shooting is to set a time at least twice the focal length. Or if you want to risk having a good steady hand. In the control of the high lights D850 vs D700 the latter seems to have better yield. In the white balance I do not know errors and as far as yield is concerned the Nikon D800 is so ... is the D800. Either you like it or use another camera.

Pros: Low ISO from fear

Cons: Slow machine, AF every now and then dancer too loud at high ISO

Opinion: A monster!! I had the D800 years ago, well at low ISO generates files that are a pleasure as long as you use resolute optics, it is difficult to find optics that fully solve all mpx of the D800, I used it with fixed such as 105 Nikon 85, 50 the micro-blur is a rumor , come out if you don't know how to use it, it is a machine that does not forgive., l I found it slow in operation, MAF good but not excellent, removed only because the noise at high ISO was really too much, if we consider that the car was costing on 3000 euros when output bhè... Would I buy it back? Yes but definitely the E version, which generates pariah files to that of the 810

Pros: Sturdy body and neatly arranged controls. Very high resolution. Battery life. Good level screen.

Cons: Often encountered serious problems of F/b focus (2 models out of 3 possessed). Huge and heavy files, needs the fastest memory cards and many hard drives. High weight of the body alone.

Opinion: I state that I had 3 and twice I had to face the problems of F/b focus. On all my lenses both zoom and fixed, I had problems and often the photos were to be thrown. Also sometimes even the micro moved was noticeable and annoying. When there were no problems the files were great, amazing details in the macros and crop that did not regret the lack of pushed tele. Sold all three for all the above mentioned reasons. If I found one without those problems, I would buy it again.

Pros: Virtually everything: resolution, color, detail, dynamic range, construction, robustness, efficiency, enormous malleability and "workability" of both the Raw and the JPG (and you could continue).

Cons: Practically nothing but the heaviness: an elephant in the neck if with heavy lenses and external flash (God save us with battery grip, which I don't anyway). At the moment it is "dated" species on functions like Live View (which also not even use).

Opinion: Eagerly desired and bought after heavy economies, he has been with me for almost six years. I struggle to find them real faults, and, personally, I do not match those that are commonly affixed. For example the susceptibility to vibration due to the mighty (and noisy-but I like it) shutter. When I get the blur, it's my fault. Even without special precautions on tripod (the rare times I use it), I do not get micromossi. Obviously, its powerful Raw from 36 mpx reveal to 100% every minimum defect and softness of each lens, but much is corrected by the firmware, and a lot is correctable via software (especially those who use modules optimization of individual lenses). And then, let's be clear, starting from files like that, you have to make really big prints to notice something, or it's all "razor sharp" anyway! Even if the press was huge, and revealed a clue of softness and micromosso, you should look with the nose on the paper, but who is watching a poster with the nose on the paper?!? The dynamic range is something fantastic, the headroom from Raw allows astounding recovers of highlights, as well as shadows. To the point that one could quietly shoot with strong exposure "to the Left" (the opposite of what many advise) and then raise shadows and blacks without obtaining particular damage (it is known that to do so with certain canon were obtained patterns from "kilt Scottish "Terrifying! But they should have solved the thing in the last models). The depth and the power of the color are extraordinary. You do not feel particularly the slight lack of sharpness compared to the model and especially the next 810: The details are so many, and respond so well to sharpening that you really have to resort to microscopy to find differences Significant! Some signal a certain noise at high ISO. And, especially from Raw, there's really some noise over the 3200, and it gets a lot from 5000-6400. But reducing it with good software, it still remains such a quantity of details (even in the shadows) that the shot, on large print, is virtually identical to the 100-1000 ISO band. Here too, to find differences it takes the magnifying glass. I have no problems even in different shots at ISO 12800 and even someone besides, here using techniques of "expose to the right", pulling down the exposure from Raw and maybe then using a good denoise. I would now be tempted to move on to 850, but finances do not allow, and also allow, sincerely there is no real stringent reason! Other point: The results are also dear with DX lenses! The Raw output can be "pulled up" up to 24 mpx (higher side led to 6000 px) without any significant deterioration! So it's like "containing" a 24 mpx DX of equal efficiency inside! By updating the firmware, it works excellently with the excellent 18-55 AF-P DX VR, and with the equally excellent 35 1.8. We try to find flaws: it is heavy. At the neck with two bison like the 28-300 VR or the Sigma 12-24, it's osteopath stuff... and after a while it can give the wrist cramps. It's flashy, noisy and indiscrey. It's "slow" (I personally though practically never need an ultra-fast "burst"). For types of photos requiring great speed (I think the edges of a circuit from Moto GP) certainly is not the best. But I don't do this kind of photo. It is now "outdated" compared to the latest Sony monsters (for one). But here are flaws that, at least as far as I am concerned, are virtually non-existent.

Pros: Dynamic range, colors, ISO seal, however perfect machine.

Cons: If we really want the noise when it snaps, it seems to shoot almost with a medium format film....

Opinion: Great machine, I use it to work, I must say that there is the problem of the blur, but also pulls out of the files that can be printed 1 meter for a meter and a half at full resolution, so we can not think of watching them from 20 cm, are prints to look at least 3 meters , so I would say that this big problem does not exist, certainly must be used carefully, the right times and the best optics, even if I like to pair it with old ais, I really like the yield, especially in portraits, then maybe in post should be worked with Sharpening. Compared to Canon, the Nikon sensor has a much higher yield as far as dynamic performance is Concerned. Canon at high iso, it returns a "dusty" image, I have both the one and the other house, over the years I spent a bit ' here and a bit ' of the, but now Nikon as sensor quality, is superior to Canon and not a little, in any case, everyone has their own tastes about. The color management is the usual Nikon, the dynamic range is such that the photos are contrasty and saturated, otherwise the raw files seem almost flat, I work there anyway quietly up to 6400 and I think even at 12400 iso, the photo takes you home tranquilament and, given what once you could do with film EO the digital until about ten years ago, even less. Used the is under the thousand, even with few shots, 36 mpx are more than enough for any use, besides remains only the medium format....... analogue!

Pros: Image quality/Ergonomics buttons/construction materials/Current price used

Cons: Autofocus

Opinion: In my possession for about a year I struggled to find a right Setup compromise for my use, with this machine mainly landscaping, then gave me many beautiful shots. I really appreciate its dynamic range, mostly I avoid shooting with less than 1/160 and coupled to the Nikon 24-120 I think an ideal pairing, I hardly ever use the VR lens since I do not fall under the Times described. For night landscaping or at dusk I almost always use the tripod + shutter delay exposure, by day the tripod is not indispensable. Given the difficulty in using, see Microblur + pixel density + noise, I was served much as a school to test the various situations and progress in my photographic knowledge. I recommend the purchase considering the price of the current used, I have seen around 800 euros, to those who want to refine their photographic technique. Positive vote on my part

Pros: Ergonomics, battery life, viewfinder, simple and orderly Menu, dynamic range, Nikon F lens range, sensor

Cons: High ISO, weight, Live View, Flash, skin wear

Opinion: To date for me the absolute reflex: machine demanding both for weight and for use, is not the classic reflex for photographers of the Sunday or the "Instagrammers" and maybe even for this has entered right from the start in my heart. In a 1kg body hides a beast of portraiture unmatched, when it came out marked an era going to redefine the canons of photography as it was the first to launch over the threshold of 30mpx. Dynamic range simply incredible, if used with judgement returns incredible files. Ergonomics and childbirth body with what together with the dynamic range and the viewfinder is the real strength of the D800, namely ergonomics. Machine that despite the weight anything but light immediately gives a handle and unrivalled feedback hiding in part (because the long feels on the wrist) the weight and dimensions decidedly important of this camera and use in Molt I have not understood or appreciated this camera giving faults and looking for flaws in the camera itself, the reason is simple: it is not a camera for everyone. Given the high Pixel density (36 million) it often runs in grit and shake, the ISO hold of this camera remains another sore note: In light conditions semi-critical reached the share of 800-1000 the grain begins to become important and then Make the file irrecoverable once you have reached the 3200. Batteries and accessories on the D800 Nikon mounted the en-EL15 to lithium, which mounting the MB-D12 battery Grip became 2 doubling its durability, I was able to test it with the BL-5 adapter, which allows you to use the En-EL18 (the battery of the flagship D4) by increasing autonomy and gust. Among the indispensable accessories there is the shell eye viewfinder, the CF Lexar 800x (or 1066x) 64/128GB Conclusions I hardly separated from an object with fatigue, yet with the D800 has succeeded. I am separated after not a few reflections and not a few doubts about it to switch to mirrorless. Even before components such as weight, ISO management and other features where you could hear the GAP with modern SLR/mirrorless my choice was dictated by the wear of the skins decidedly marked and completely strange in my case since I do not suffer from excessive Sweating of hands. Despite everything remains to this day the car of which I miss the most.

Pros: Construction, sturdiness, quality of the produced files, high ISO resistance. Resolution (Depends if we care about that too).

Cons: A certain slowness general operation, menu ' a bench common to all models "pro", lack of an IR receiver integrated in the machine for remote release, battery life.

Opinion: Great machine, capitalized. Beyond all the files it returns contain really a great amount of information. It makes the best of itself only with very high performance optics. A huge step from the APSC that needs a learning period to understand and use it to the fullest. I am not detecting problems of micromotion because if we want to exploit all the resolution the only solution is to put it on the tripod with MUP and delay, otherwise from 36 mpx you have to expect a decay of the image seen at 100% due to use freehand to Less than to use it with faster times than those usually considered "safety". The construction is outstanding. I do not understand the lack of an IR receiver for an external remote like the ML3: wanting to use external triggers you are forced to use the flash sled and the 10-pin cable (also for the original Nikon wireless control which, among other things, costs a kidney). The files are exceptional and take up a lot of space (do not use reduced formats, shooting in raw or RAW + JPEG): The memory cards end soon. High Iso seal very good (if we consider the MPX). It puzzles me the battery life, lower than I did with APSC D300 and d7100. In the matrix exhibition known that compared to what the machine proposes there is always about a stop and a half of space on the highlights, the machine seems to be set conservatively. The autofocus works fine; My specimen does not present the problem that some complain about, related to a supposed difference in the focus between AF points to the right and points to the left. For my needs, my finances (socket used now has a/prezzo quality ratio unthinkable for any other product) and uses (landscape) is the ultimate machine, I do not need anything else in a camera; In time I'll update only the optics. Place that with the machine that you own there you do anything (arranging yourself with what you have), thinking from Dad with children, I would say that it is not the machine that we need for general use if we think to use it to make very often photos to our children who play at Calc I/basket/volleyball/other sport. For this is much better a apsc with less megapixels, less weight and a lot more operating speed.

Pros: Resolution

Cons: Micromotion for my monitor Green Machine

Opinion: I purchased the machine just output with huge problems of micromotion and white balance after a couple of years I solved the balance with software update but the micromotion remained. Shooting only with first quality optics and fully in manual I mounted a fcusinsreen with Stigmometro. Then in an unexplained way it is damaged the shutter forcing to replace it with great amazement after the repair the micromotion is much improved. Now it is another precise and sharp machine. Evidently the first models suffered from intrinsic defects. Pay attention to the year of purchase.

Pros: High dynamic range for those who are used to Canon sensors, high resolution, excellent layout of the buttons and seizure for those who, like me, always shoot freehand. Having also the D810, I can say that the D800 is still up to its reputation even after some time

Cons: Cost just released, but today is often proposed at bargain prices that make it very attractive so if we want, the opposite is the fall in value of used for those who had bought new.

Opinion: I bought this machine in September 2015 by an amateur photographer, who gave it disappointed after only 2-3,000 shots tainted by blur (not even shaken ... just striking!): In practice it was a new machine, equipped with battery grip original. rnThe high resolution of the sensor requires some more attention than less demanding machines, but if equipped with optics at the height and correctly used (shutter speed suitable for shooting and solid handle), gives really high-level shots.rnUp to so I shot only with Canon bodies, while having in stock many optical and long lenses Nikon Nikon: this was therefore my first body Nikon and since then I have not left the Japanese House, then alongside D810 and D500.rnrnHere you can see some shots made with body D800: rnrnhttps: //www.flickr.com/photos/henry62/albums/72157672285574640

Pros: robustness and dynamic range

Cons: shutter vibrations

Opinion: I own the D800 from 2012 and now 'we' celebrated 100,000 shots. It's an excellent machine, as used to say: professional. Maybe, 6 years later, the market offers even better, but this machine when it was born was far ahead of all and even today is among those at the top. Objectively, I would not feel the need or the need to change it with a D850 if it were not for its main fault: the vibrations of the shutter. Unfortunately, at the click, the shutter and the mirror lifting system induce strong vibrations that cause blur on the images. The problem is that sometimes even stabilizers can not minimize this problem. For example: with this machine, the 80-400 AFS zoom is almost unusable with the VR inserted even when shooting at 1/2000, while working very well on the D7100 / D7200. By contrast, 24-120 f4 works perfectly all the time. Basically: with some lenses on this machine the VR is better not to have it. If the micro-blur is solved by playing with the times and learnsndo to manage this 'character' of the machine, it must also be said that the biggest complication, for those coming from smaller sensors or with less mpix, is the criticality of the focus, because every minimum error of autofocus and any consequent minimum out of focus becomes evident. It is not a problem inherent in the focusing system of the camera body, it is a problem that arises from the huge number of pixels of the sensor that highlights every minimum defect. Defects that using a 12-16-24 mpix do not jump to the eye. Therefore it becomes vital to calibrate the focus for each lens. rnComunque: it's one of my most beloved machines and the longest in my hands after the F3. Given the price that is on the used is an attractive choice, essential and very advisable.

Pros: Value for money at the time unbeatable, given the prices of used: my combination with the sigma 105 holds very well the shake: at 1/200 the files are almost equal to those taken with the live view. So for some reason the combination with the Sigma is almost perfect to reduce the vibrations of the mirror.

Cons: dry snap: but I have the impression that they have improved the vibrations during production compared to the first releases, limited in the videos

Opinion: Purchased used at 1000 euros with 8000 shots. perfect, not a scratch. I've been using it for a few months. I state that I come from a d3200 and then I can only say what struck me beyond the obvious: perfect automatic white balance, very natural colors without any post, (directly converted into PS ACR, otherwise the nikon converter alters the gamma tones and colors in my opinion). The 36 MPs are those that it takes to exploit well the good optics that already there are without fainting in the super ones, that for very little more there is a chasm of cost. Therefore good detail even with non-high-gloss lenses (eg nikon 50 1.8G) which allows important recoveries and emergency cutouts. Good workability of files that weigh 40 MB compressed without loss. The battery is limited but still arrive at about 600 shots. The discourse of shake is very related to the mirror in all SLR already starting from 1/500 and worsens more and more to longer times. Therefore if you want to have the maximum sharpness you have to shoot in live streetswo in delayed shooting. The micromosso sincerely I saw better than the d3200 perhaps for the weight that greatly attenuates the vibrations and perhaps due to the lower density of the sensor. Among other things, keeping the ISO well is easy to stay within tight security times. The burst limited to 4fps, for me it is not a limit because I do not do sports photos or birdlife. As for the notes on the AF, I honestly did not see them on my sample. rnrnIL video segment I have not evaluated, but certainly is not up to the times. But I did not take it for this. rnrnIn definitive good for portrait, landscape and macro. Excellent for newbies who want to experience quality.

Pros: Robustness and reliability, pro commands, dynamic range and recovery shadows. Good iso management.

Cons: I think only the need to have many harddisk for the rest none.

Opinion: If you can not afford a room to study the degree and the cost of a hassemblad, this will not make you regret anything. I used it for studio pictures with a 60 mm micro, I can only say that he also captured too many details that I had to tone down on the models' skin. You need a robust, reliable machine and tropical conditions for scenery street or animals? It is the best, it allows you to have all the quality of the image and to bring out the merits and defects of the lens. Generates raw image a bit flat because it captures the full dynamic range of light and shadow, so images look very contrasting, but for those who need to edit a landscape or a portrait beauty, able to have all the data he needs for a post professional production. It is a machine used for sport and that's fine slow burst, otherwise imagine 30 photos in raw 50 mb snapped at 10 fps .... board should change every 10 minutes. It is designed to be laid out and studied shots or to capture the moment giusto, one click an action, stop. It is not a machine gun and the one for which it was designed not needed, in his place I would choose only d3 and d4, with photos lighter ready to be shipped in the newsroom. This reflex is specialized in photos that need processing and their time. I personally I'd use it to travel as one body, it offers everything you need, plus it's very solid and perfectly tropicalized. The advice to these genres, while for sports and even the wedding, not so much because they are jobs where you make a lot of shots even thousands in a day and sincerely handle such a heavy archive becomes rather difficult and expensive. Tell me what you think wedding photographers :)

Pros: Body, dynamic range, resolution, autofocus

Cons: Yield to 6400 ISO, gust speed, battery life

Opinion: Taken in 2016 after trying D700 and D750. It 'an incredible machine with one of the best sensors in circulation despite four years of age. color rendition and dynamic superlatives. Preferred to D750 for the professional construction of the body and ergonomics. Preferred to D700 for the dynamic range. rnLeggendo the forum and the many articles on the web initially I was very doubtful because of alleged autofocus problems. Personally I have NOT encountered any problems, the car has an incredible sharpness and the autofocus does not miss a beat. Compared to the D810 it is slower in all, but at least that does not serve a faster burst I see no reason to upgrade. About the shake-so noble for its 36Mpx, again I would refute the chitchat from Bar. The fact is that they serve the well-calibrated lenses (which few consider) rn

Pros: Sturdiness, ergonomics', dynamic range, all at hand commands, precise autofocus and fast ......

Cons: video industry improved, poor battery life.

Opinion: Taken a few days ago and used like new with just a few clicks has been amazed me. The files are an impressive sharpness and thanks to the sublime dynamic range very well machinable. Even images in jpeg are very good. The AF and 'ready and accurate even in low light conditions. Moving subjects are well hooked by Tracking with very satisfactory results. Outstanding sense of sturdiness of the body and the grip feeling. Very convenient for me the dedicated battery grip that increases the autonomy of the device otherwise penalized by the short shelf life of EN-EL15. What else to say ..... A powerful and reliable work tool. With prices 'used very affordable quality' Nikon 'more and more' at hand !!!!!

Pros: resolution, dynamic range, AF system, color, robustness, reliability, ergonomics

Cons: noise beyond the 3200 ISO, which are very well manageable PP and nothing else

Opinion: Bought this morning used in good condition, to tile the Df: sure, weighs more, but you will be immediately captivated by the resolution and dynamic range stratosferica.rnOvviamente communicates a feeling of reliability and robustness that only the best Nikon can dare.Si holds fine, well balanced and ergonomically perfect as most of Nikon.La'm testing both optical Nikkor vintage, both with the latest generation of high-Nikkor range: the sensor, despite the 36 mpx does wonders even with optical winds, thirty years ago, and this again shows who is Nikon ... rnAutofocus perfect and extremely quick, beautiful colors pasty and natural, even if the spell of some shots of Df remains insuperata.rnLa dynamic range is practically unattainable dream of Canon, distant yet light years is incredible in standard mode, where the maximum dell'estensione.rnPer from the rest there is little to say that has everything you could want at the highest level and all that does is done in a perfect manner: it is tranquillamente alternative to many expensive and not as average formato. In performance DX mode you can use all optical aps still getting files from 15 megapixel! rnContrariamente to what is being said around, the 35-megapixel files are heavy, but not at all difficult to manage and I do not possess a latest generation PC or high prestazioni.Si is just logically a bit 'slow as it is obvious that buying sia.rnSoddisfattissimo, I will publish soon a few shots in my galleries and, if it is necessary , I will update this review.

Pros: Resolution. Construction. AF sensitivity

Cons: Contrast-detect autofocus in video mode

Opinion: At first I was skeptical: I feared that the price to pay for the all-new (in the field of 24 X 36 mm) pixel density was excessive noise. Not so, considering the comparison with the same print size with other cameras. And the 36 MP Youths wonderfully, for example in street photography done using telephoto lenses, to reconsider clippings, make explorations in the image looking for new readings. Another considerable advantage - even compared to the excellent predecessor D700 - is the remarkable sensitivity auto focus, accompanied by an equally remarkable rapidity. As for the video industry, very valuable the ability to produce uncompressed video using external recorders connected with an HDMI cable. However, a significant weakness - but common, at the time when this camera was conceived - is represented by the focus for law enforcement rilvazione, in video field: almost unusable, and slowness, indecision, instability.

Pros: Sharpness, dynamic range, pro commands and construction in general, 36mpx

Cons: very noisy shutter and vibration

Opinion: I have this beautiful reflex for the past two and a half years and it's my first body FF. For there are several advantages, has a very high dynamic range that allows you to retrieve and work with raw files that many other SLR should throw. It has a detailed and a frightening sharpness, making it ideal for portrait and shooting in the studio. The construction is of the highest quality, durable and tropical conditions and the layout of the controls is to be pro body, besides being configurabililissima. With ISO not doing badly (always considering that 36 mpx !!), certainly does amazing things as the next generation SLR (see d750), but at least up to 2000 has a good yield. The only flaw I found is that the shutter has quite noisy in terms of sound, and this also transmits vibrations to the rest of the body (a problem that has been solved with the D810's sister); is a bit 'annoying, especially if you make street (was not born for this kind of course). The flurry do not consider it a failure, because forthe uses to which it is intended does not need a with a 15 fps burst. Otherwise I am fine there. the straconsiglio, especially used. Of course to make it make better serve pro objectives. You will not regret it.

Pros: All

Cons: Nobody

Opinion: I got it after the D700 that I keep as a second body. My passion is macro photography, so for me it has not rivals, with its 36 megapixel. I highly recommend it. I still can not find fault, perhaps because they gave them to us. I assure you that I am working to find them but not yet trovo.rnSpero of them have been clear enough.

Pros: sharpness, dynamic range, construction

Cons: I don't see any

Opinion: I took it back a couple of years ago to replace the legendary D700, so mine is an end-of-series model. Compared to the D700 does exactly the same things, only it does them better (except the burst, which however I do not use). Definitely superior detail, remarkably superior dynamic range, resistance to ISO highs (strangely) better, quieter shot and plus makes the video. The ability to recover light and shadow is perhaps his greatest dowry. I am very happy and I believe that she will be my faithful companion for several years. To fully appreciate this machine, however, you need some precautions, in the sense that you can use it very well as a 12mp but, if you want to see the highest quality, you need to use more restrictive safety times, maf more precise, high quality optics. In short, exceptional machine. I did not take the E because paying 500 euros more for marginal differences I did not consider it sensible and I am glad to have decided so. Note of 15/05/2020 Nice to read again and be able to confirm in full what was written 5 years before. The D800 is really great, it has very little to envy to the DSRL released later.

Pros: Very robust, just one step below the flagships from 5000 euro. Fast autofocus. Customizable at will. Flash more powerful than the media talking about integrated. Resolution up to A3 prints allows masking the noise, which is still contained in the report to 36 megapixels and that responds very well to the chromatic reduction in LR. Dynamic range almost 'infinite' in RAW

Cons: Whereas the quote for a used car (currently 1200 to 1500 EUR AC for not more than 50,000 shots), the noise at high iso is higher price of new machines of equal or almost (Canon 6D for example, but also the same D610 ), while remaining low, well manageable and above all capable of maintaining the colored details even at very high ISO

Opinion: The amount that I paid (1390 € with 5000 shots and still in warranty of two years) I could not find better. The best thing of all is the incredible dynamic range, which allows you to adjust virtually any shot made from 100 to 800 ISO. In addition, clearly the range is reduced in proportion to the increase in ISO 1600 but also the recoveries are good ... Anyway it's great. The latitude of pose is such that in fact becomes unnecessary to do double or triple exposures! For the noise at high ISO, although as resistance to noise now there are machines that exceed (Canon 6D, D610, D750, not counting of course the respective TOP Canon and Nikon or Sony mirrorless 12-MP), the difference is It reduced almost to nothing for a given resolution. But not only playing with the exceptional dynamic range is possible in many situations expose below even a couple of stops than you would with other cameras without being outside noise more, which compensates for the difference in sealing at high iso . I come from a 6D, whichthis side has practically no rivals, and do not feel frustrated, because in LR with the demosaicing D800 works wonders, especially in being able to keep even special colored at high ISO while using NR. The fact is that while the 6D holds a bit 'better in the pictures at night or indoors without flash, collapses miserably in dynamic range up to ISO 800-1600, while the Nikon in this area is outstanding, then the D800 camera as total wins hands down. It also offers 1/8000 shutter, dual slot and is in general more configurable. Finally, it suits optical APSC Nikon and then you can mount everything. Sure: the 810th took away even the problem of noise, making it the top of the top, but costicchia a little '...

Pros: 36 megapixels; construction and ergonomics, focus points, light and shadow recovery files (raw); high quality ISO;

Cons: Large files if you shoot in RAW; burst of 4 frames.

Opinion: I own this fantastic reflex from 6 months and I can not have an extremely positive. From the moment that you grab one has the feeling to have in my hands a pro body, sturdy and easy to handle very well. The files that you are turning out heavy but allow a processing very satisfactory species in the recovery of the shadows and details. It is a machine that by demanding the best when combined with optical first band. The autofocus is accurate, although many have had problems, and 51 points of focus are more than enough for any kind of recovery.

Pros: Autofocus, resolution, exposure improved (compared previous series), White balance Automatic improved (useful in changing light conditions, reports, etc), workability files, recover shadows and highlights, solid body, made at high ISO and above color rendering at high iso.

Cons: The second slot is SD and CF, less ergonomic grip for those with large hands than the D700 and D810

Opinion: Almost perfect machine for most of the professional use, the use for anything from reportage of events at weddings to travel and always rewarding, I think the D810 has corrected some defects and added some useful function (weighted exposure mode on the high lights, burst faster, sRAW, handle better, absence of AA filter, etc) and is the perfect camera for my taste but the D800 is still a good fotocamera.rnI heavy files of D800 are lavorabilissimi with any PC, even with the tablet ( Surface Pro 3) will work like a dream.

Pros: fantastic car, a full frame in my unsurpassed level (except 810) a little tricky to handle but once it happens you tame, excellent weight and strength of the tank.

Cons: is not made for the sport this is indisputable since the burst arrives at 4 frames per second but otherwise, landscapes, portrait, reportage, etc. is the maximum you can have today.

Opinion: I believe the queen of the full frame ever, still unmatched today resolution, rugged and weather sealed body made in the exemplary dynamic range, you can use it in any field except sport where the burst and large files does not allow it to be adequate, even in the video it is used by several world-renowned directors for advertising videos and not only that, many photographers matrimonialisti use it to their video and now you can find in the used market at just over 1500 Euros, I found it to 1000 euro with still six months remaining warranty a battery backup and 1,200 photos taken what you want more from Nikon ...

Pros: Clear, robust and tropical conditions, quality 'sensor, supplied semipro.

Cons: Autofocus uncertain even with optical bright, bayonet deboluccia optics over the kilo, key iso impractical. They did an update fimware to use the video as a second key button iso, but does not work in manual. Gust miserable even with BP. If you have a passion for video, not 'the camera for you.

Opinion: After more 'than two years of use, and about 50,000 shots I can say that the D800 would be a very good camera, but the autofocus and burst in the castrate considerably. Although he has squeezed all autofocus settings provided can not bring home the sports photos decent. The D810 does not seem to have improved more 'of both these aspects compared to about two years of technological evolution and 1000 Euros of price increase. It seems that Nikon wants to force its customers to have two SLR bodies. For the rest I could test the robustness and tropicalization this semipro that a recovery of the shadows fantastic. For video leaves much to be desired. When recording you hear the engine noise AF lens also using its expensive external microphone.

Pros: Image quality, noise content than the resolution, excellent possibility of recouping the shadows from RAW, excellent management automatic ISO, good quality of the camera body, good autofocus system with integrated illuminator

Cons: Improved ergonomics, the presets are not "be frozen" and do not include autofocus settings, improved battery autonomy

Opinion: A fantastic car, shame about the layout of the controls in my opinion a bit 'less intuitive than Canon and for the management of the presets, which are not "be frozen" - if you make some changes to the parameters during shooting, the next use or recall of presets are changed. Otherwise it's really hard to ask for better, the image quality autofocus is perfect. Excellent chance to management of automatic ISO and shutter speeds, for example, you can tell the machine to keep a minimum shutter speed twice the inverse of the focal length that you are using. Also good management of the flash, the iTTL system is very effective in balancing the exposure of the subject from the background, and the automatic management of the ISO works fine even with the flash attached. Very handy illuminator integrated in the camera body, allowing you to focus even in total darkness. Ultimately a car highly recommended, but ifyou want to quickly change the shooting settings and prefer the "total recall" for presets I recommend you find your way on other bodies macchina.rnEdit: after many thousands of shots I would add that it is very difficult to exploit the resolution of the sensor with optical light if diaframmando not a bit '. 85 1.8 G Nikkor center makes good from f / 2.5 up, 50 G 1.4 to f / 2.8 up ... well, if you want to take a very open diaphragms hardly sfrutterete fully effective resolution of the sensor. I would also add that, in the studio shooting apertures (usually around f / 8), the image quality is very high and I never had problems with moiré (and this is why I took the D800 and the D810 or D800E that does not have the anti-aliasing filter).

Pros: Autofocus ... the best I've ever tried !!! Solidity, many Mpx, dynamic range rocking, excellent construction and management of vibration fantastic (hard to notice the shake-even with huge files), ISO 100 sensational, real images, soft and full of detail !!!

Cons: Balance with optical long burst just acceptable, not phenomenally high ISO, but if you elabbora and decreases a bit 'the file, perhaps better than the competition ... Problems chromatic increasing the ISO. Software too elaborate, too many settings lights and shadows, which often slow down the ideas of the photographer, but certainly the larger part like!

Opinion: I state that I come from analog to switch to Nikon and Canon Digital after the poor performance of the 5D MKII I got this fantastisca NIKON.rnErgonomia software and slightly less than the Japanese competitor, but as devastating yield of the final product. I imagine that photographers first coat might be confused with the veterans, thanks to the quality and resounding Autofocus, exceptional in every situazione.rnCorpo machine solid, but too many buttons you often have to take his eyes from the viewfinder to understand what you want to press, the Canon is better as management operativa.rnOltre to MAF already mentioned I would like to enhance the validity of the shutter, which has a tight sound and pleasant and hardly startles the body, helping to capture crisp and firm even at times lenti.rnNeo Nikon is the sharp devaluation entering bodies too similar to each other with continuous improvements, so if you are on the air every year, you can change the body, but if there is content (and believe me it will not be disappointed) you can appreciate every shot fantastic and remain present in the finished product forseveral anni.rnCONSIGLIATISSIMA

Pros: Image quality (dynamic range, detail), autofocus, crop Room 1.2/1.5x convenient and fast, right compatible.

Cons: The file goes far beyond ISO 1600 and worked, however, the loss of quality is evident, not digests well multipliers also very sharp lenses like the 300 2.8; heavy files, you must keep time well above the limit of the shake-

Opinion: I come from experiences with D300, D7000 and D3 (which I still hold to clean files, and the operating speed of light), the D800 I use it exclusively for nature (landscapes and birdlife). The quality of the file from 100 to 800 iso in my opinion has no equal (compared with flagships both Canon and Nikon), and instead you have to expose carefully and the decline in quality was pretty obvious (though I would say that up to 1600 ISO can be fairly quiet even on moving subjects). Exceptional autofocus (I did not think it was so improved compared to the D3!). Convenient for those who photograph animals, the ability of the various crop in camera.rnFin here the positive aspects ... the downside derived from the same features that are appreciated: the 36 Mp! The dense sensor does not forgive, time should always be well beyond the safety limit, not a machine "one shot, one kill", it is always better to use a good tripod, also goes well with clear objectives (usually fixed) smooth while illBears multipliers (with 2x of VRI 300 2.8 as the decline is also evident if, resampling, you can "disguise" some flaws), and even the level of stabilizzatore.rnA photos of landscape, using the usual precautions (solid tripod and stand up mirror with remote cable release) gives no problem and in fact due to the wide dynamic range sometimes allows single shots without having to resort to double exposures.

Pros: Image quality (dynamic recovery, noise, details); ergonomics, build quality, autofocus, possibility clipping (1.2. DX. 5:4) dx + compatible built-in flash; viewfinder, ISO 1600 excellent.

Cons: Operating speed is not really adequate to the 36 Mpxl (writing files, processing); turret controls and selection mod. exposure is not just comfortable; beyond 3200 iso must exhibit good.

Opinion: It has already been said much of this machine, I can only say that a car is not difficult to use as opposed to what to say. Surely it is more difficult to use a D7100 to bring comparable results. Up to 3200 ISO is very good (then depends on how you expose), at 6400 iso image is usable even if not ideal for recovery but requires a minimum of attention in post. The metering is very accurate and as usual the automatic flash are at the top. The timing of security in the shots are the same as other cameras, of course if you have to zoom in to 100% due to the higher resolution if there 'shake-it highlights the more time a little faster are recommended but at the same magnification are always the same as other cameras. rnrn

Pros: A body of new generation with all the skills to make great shots in all conditions.

Cons: If you really want to find fault with the cost, autofocus which required a calibration (under warranty) and the need for a gradual upgrade of the optics.

Opinion: After deciding on the transition from D90 to a body full frame Nikon at home the evaluation was between the "old" and the new D700 D800. The difference in price of about 700 € made me decide for the D800 as it is like buying a new technology compared to an old one. Fully satisfied with the new body even though I is requesting an update of the optics to bring out its full potential. The response at high ISO is excellent as the definition that allows the crop without significant loss of image quality. Only problem the need to resort to collateral as required a calibration autofocus.

Pros: Unrivaled image quality, well-built body and sealed, nothing short of astonishing dynamic range, recovery shadows stellar performance at high ISO amazing ability to shoot in DX format.

Cons: Ergonomics in some respects improvable.

Opinion: Exceptional car. A sensor as on a Full Frame SLR no one had ever seen. Dynamic range without equal. The ability to work on files in post are virtually endless. The recovery of the shadows and highlights is impressive. The detail that can be captured is stunning. For a landscaper this machine is a godsend. RAW files are churning out a pleasure. The yield at high ISO is great: the texture is compact, the colors never mixed. The popular fear of the "shake" is just a legend. It takes in a bit more forethought during shooting, but I was able to shoot with the 70-200mm to 200mm at 1/60 without any problems (always with VR included of course). RnConsigliatissima no doubt. Certainly more than the rival house sectoral Canon, the 5D Mark III that I have not hesitated to call "universal machine". It has a lower burst but image quality without a doubt higher.

Pros: sturdy and weather sealed camera body. built-in flash useful though not needed. sensor for outstanding resolution, dynamic range and performance at high ISO.

Cons: ergonomics perfectible: some buttons in non-optimal position and bearing area for the right thumb uncomfortable.

Opinion: a qualitative leap in the rendered image, with all its consequences in positive (a lot) and negative (a little). the dynamic range, especially in reference to the possibility of recovery of the shadows, is extraordinary. the resolution allows large print sizes. surprising resistance to high ISO and grain 'dry', from film, pleasant in print (in any case invisible up to 800 iso). on the other hand, the sensor requires equal optical quality of the lenses, so that the synergy produces the effects appropriate and promises spectacular that, under penalty of flaws magnified optical sensors that less 'demanding' would forgive. objectives that were good on a d700 (see nikkor 17-35 2.8, for example, to quote a fallen noble ...) are inadequate to 36 Mpixel the d800. I was 'forced' to replace the 16-35 vr (which, especially at 35mm, is painfully soft on d800 and d700 was great on) with the magnificent 14-24 2.8 (worthy companion of the d800). Strangely, it seems that the 70-300 vr 'he may judge', mainly trto 70 and 200. Shooting in RAW, but I find very handy the possibility, however small, in the room of RAW development themselves, useful to provide, if necessary, a jpeg file 'on the fly' optimized for immediate use. 4 frames / sec...per me are too many. for other needs (photo sport / action) will be a few ... but considering the amount of data to 'move', there is little to criticize, I think. uncomfortable, unfortunately, the handle, because of the reduced support for the thumb, however, worsened by poor relief of the ledge on the right of the same: incomprehensible fall ergonomics, by nikon that, historically, has always kept most of these other aspects, especially on models: unforgivable. Overall, for the moment, it seems to me a wonderful tool, able to produce great results. a monster, in the etymological sense of the term.

Pros: Light and comfortable, PerSono with the MB-D12, all keys finally in the right place (except one). Incredible dynamic range. Image quality in all situations truly stratospheric and precision autofocus. Fantastic response at high iso, images always defined and detailed with grain dry as a time with the film.

Cons: LCD still wrong. Nikon does not understand that if the photo size is 24x36 the same ratio must be complied LCD. Pictures taken as always have two black bands. There will also be more space for the shooting information display canon but provide more useful area and a better picture. High sensitivity to dust on the sensor. The density of the sensor only in this complicates slightly life. The dust begins to perceive gradually from f / 8 to f/11 instead of up. The button for auto-focus, style d7000 is a bit 'difficult to swallow coming from the previous generation (d700/d300)

Opinion: Expect a car like that for years now. In particular, a machine with a dynamic range and a yield qualitative image of another level. The d800 astounded me going beyond expectations. The dynamic range is captured objectively frightening. You can not compare with anything else (for now). The yield at high iso is definitely a foot above the d700 and in some ways very similar to the D3S if resized to 12.3 mp. The workability of the file is exceptional. Both in raw jpg to tiff that what comes out of the machine is a detailed image and full-bodied with very nice colors and color gradations and accurate. The raw file and tiff are bulky but not heavy to handle with a PC in the last 2 years. The entire workflow development and management of the file is not slowed down as we thought when the size of the files has been sent. The shutter speed is not outstanding but not later problems for sports photography or wildlife. The battery grip helps to increase, at least in some modes ofclick. But rarely more than 4fps are needed if you know what you're taking. Finally, the battery grip is an accessory of good quality that goes well to the camera body. Extremely solid and comfortable does not increase that much weight. E 'was shaped differently is extremely more comfortable MB-D10. Too expensive as ever and made in China, as usual, makes an already extremely handy machine more comfortable when used with SB-9x0 and heavy targets. Overall, this round, Nikon surprised me much more than I imagined even from the samples and the first comments. Another planet.

Opinion: I tried for a few days this new jewel of Nikon, and I was impressed from the first shots. I bought the camera with the conviction that I would have given great satisfaction ... so it was. One of the things that impressed me the most was the recovery in the shadows and highlights: I've never had my hands on a camera that worked so well on that front. The quality of the files that churns out is extraordinary, at least with lenses like the Nikon 105 macro VR and 24-120 VR, Nikon always. Of course I can not speak for what concerns the cleaning of files at high iso, not having tested, but for me, that rarely go above 800 iso, what the newcomer home Nikon produces is just amazing. From the point of view of the automatic white balance, instead, I noticed a trend to offer colors that are too cold, but maybe it's just a choice of the manufacturer, while Canon has a solution to warmer colors, nothing, however, that you can not change successivamente in pp.rnIl camera body is well balanced and seems well built, although there is a feeling that is a little too plasticky. The buttons are all in the right position, at least for my needs, and can be reached easily and promptly. I believe also that with the battery grip the handle and ergonomics in general the camera, can greatly improve, especially for those who have hands grandi.rnIn final, although I plan to test the machine even deeper and for the longest time, I believe that Nikon has made a great product, offering a camera that, in some ways, represents a sort of revolution in the field of photography digitale.rnPer those who want more information do not hesitate to contattarmirnSaluti, rnMassimilianorn
